Had knee surgery January 2021. Was struggling for a year to get strength and flexibility back. Also, was living with chronic knee/leg pain. Mari took time to understand my issues and after a couple sessions was able to diagnose the causes. Started me on targeted and progressive exercises to strengthen my knee and increase flexibility. She also used several therapy techniques that helped relieve my knee/leg pain and now allowing me to walk virtually pain free! Mari is incredible! I had a yearlong problem with my wrists (de quervain's) and traditional physical therapy and doctor treatments only gave me partial relief. Two visits with Mari and my wrists are so much improved. The really amazing part is that the work she did held over time and didn't require ongoing sessions. That said, I do continue every now and again to use her services for other unrelated injuries. I've been coming to Thrive Sports Therapy for about a year and a half maybe longer. The reason I contacted Mari was because i had issues with my left shoulder from an injury while working out and trying to do a pull-up. I enjoy working out and live an active lifestyle. I also work full time behind a desk which aggravates my shoulder issue and I also suffer from tight hips. I see Mari about every three months to help relieve tightness in my body. What can I say? Get yourself an appt with Mari ASAP. As a body worker, I know who to go to for help when I need it. I came to Mari for NRT and ART due to some injuries suffered while training martial arts. My areas of concern are my neck, shoulder, and ribcage. I explained my issues, aches, and pains, and let Mari work as she felt was best. Any athlete knows to take care of her body, and going to see Mari is now part of my self-care. This review is long overdue. Mari is a fantastic therapist. She is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly knows what she's doing. She has helped me overcome issues with my neck and shoulders, my hips and carpal tunnel. Most recently she helped me with an injured foot. I went from walking with a limp to walking much more comfortably. Her combination of technique, her knowledge and expertise plus her use of ART has really helped me when other modalities have failed. She also provides you with insight on ways to provide long-term maintenance with whatever your issues may be. She is a very thoughtful listener and really takes the time to understand where your underlying issues may be. Oftentimes, it's not what I thought but she has the expertise to figure out the cause and not just deal with the symptoms. And to top it all off, she's easily approachable, very kind and makes you feel very comfortable when she's working with you. I would give her more than 5 stars if I could. I came it with persistent tendinitis in my knee. My GP and trainer had differing opinions on both the diagnosis and the treatment. I came to see Mari and within 24 hrs I was 80% and a day later it was 90-95%. I can't speak highly enough about Mari. Instant relief! My neck started bothering me two days before Thanksgiving and since I couldn't get an appointment with my chiropractor until the following week, I decided to try to fix it on my own with self massage and neck exercises. I'd start to get more movement without pain then my neck would "pop" and the muscles would lock up again. I finally made an appointment with my chiropractor for the following week but was so miserable, I was getting desperate. Since my teenage son had gone to Mari last spring to treat shin splints and shoulder pain, he suggested I call Mari to see if she could help. I'm so glad I did! She was able to identify the muscles causing the pain and I immediately had full movement back. She also recommended a couple of tools that I could use myself to loosen my muscles on my own(the Theracane is great!). I went to this visit wanting to have my tight calves worked on. With severe osteoarthritis in both knees and tight calf muscles, it's difficult to bend/straighten my legs and standing/walking is very painful. I found Mari as I was looking for an ART therapist. I had chronic neck and shoulder pain for years that chiropractors and massage therapists weren't helping. Within my first visit, I felt exponentially better and after 6 visits, the pain has virtually disappeared. I went to see Mari because my neck was stiff, and my range of motion was not what it used to be. After just my first session, I experienced a huge improvement - and felt much better about my upper shoulders and neck! When Mari works on my neck, back and shoulders I often feel as if Mari has some sort of x-ray vision. She knows exactly what "buttons" to push to get the results she wants. I came to see Mari to treat my ball of the foot pain (Metatarsalgia) I've been suffering badly for a while. It got so painful that I ended up limping!! Not even pain killers help. Wooww, what a difference, 80% of the pain went away and left her place walking normally. I don't know exactly what techniques she used but definitely worked !! Mari even spent more time as scheduled to treat my condition. After the first session, I did not have to take pain killers for 3 days because I didn't need them. I don't know if I can ever put into words how much Mari has helped me. I was fortunate to find her after struggling for many months following a devastating hamstring injury. As a fairly elite runner, all I wanted to do was get back to running comfortably but my leg was a mess of adhesions and scar tissue. I could barely sit and I certainly could not train. I had seen many ART providers before Mari, but her technique blew me away. She is so good at what she does!
