I ordered online 10 minutes before leaving my house. Took around 10 minutes to drive down. And when I arrived I got to wait another 10 minutes for them to even start making my bowl. The staff members were joking around, seemingly not caring about the growing number of customers. I was getting impatient but was looking forward to my bowl so I didn't mind. They brought out my order and there was barely any granola/fruit on top. The bottom part was a strange liquidy consistency and had a fairly disgusting taste. I've gotten this same thing numerous times before but it's never been like this. Really just disappointed as I was looking forward to this. So I've been to both locations (Vienna and arlington) and do yourself a favor and go to the Vienna location. arlington is wayyyy to small and packed, not enough room to stand to wait for your bowl or whatever you get. And you end up waiting for like 30-40 minutes to get your food. Vienna is empty and a bigger space so you don't need rushed and can relax and eat your food in peace. My friend and I visited this location for the first time today. We both got delicious açaí bowls that can be topped with a mixture of nuts, fruits, honey, seeds, and more! We sat outside because my pup tagged along. They have two tables with two seats each outside, as well as long bench seating. The interior was very modern and offered a fair amount of seating. In the back of the building they seemed to be having a kids musical show. They have live music performances 7 days a week! The location seems to be a joint establishment with South Block and Jammin' Java. There is plenty of parking in the shared public parking lot outside the building. This is my first time trying an acai bowl so I have nothing else to compare it to. I ordered the Nutella bowl. It was very good and exactly what I was craving after a long day of hiking. It was filling and really... Nutella with anything is just amazing. Everything was well blended and they gave a good amount of granola and other various toppings. Cons: Because everything is made to order and intricate, the service is slow. I can see the people make each acai bowl, and it seems like there can be a better system in place for it to go faster. I grew up going to South block Vienna, way back when they were conjoined with jammin Java, however their move to the new shopping center has been such a pleasure to watch them evolve to the business they have become. First of all, the staff, phenomenal and very welcoming. I had the pleasure to meeting their general manager, Lina. She is efficient and definitely knows her products. You can tell she is a great leader to her team and they are all professional while having a happy work environment. Lina is extremely knowledgeable and goes above and beyond with answering all my questions about the flavors, serving sizes, protein content, and products they sell. I love dining in, especially after a brutal work out. They are $10 a bowl plus tax, definitely worth the price point because they are FILLING. Don't let the size fool you, they keep me full and satisfied. There's so many varieties in flavor selection. The açaí bowl itself has a lovely texture and doesn't feel icy. It feels almost like eating frozen yogurt, only better! I love it so much, I had to take a second bowl to go and eat at home for dinner! With every bite, you can tell it's made with fresh products. I also appreciate that they sell unflavored protein powder! It's very rare even with GNC nearby to find a low calorie unflavored protein powder. Definitely worth the try. read more

I have been to their location in Arlington and I do like that one a bit more. I've been obsessed with acai smoothie bowls recently and this place fulfills my cravings, though it is a bit slow. I ordered a warrior bowl with an extra scoop of peanut butter and a matcha green tea latte. The drink came out within a couple of minute but the smoothie bowl literally took us forever to get. The matcha green tea latte was good, not too sweet, and super foamy, just the way I like it. The acai bowl was a little less sweeter than I liked but still good. The fresh fruit, granola, and peanut butter on top of the acai blend was refreshingly delicious. Oh, and they also have a rewards program. Ask for it if you are a frequent customer. read more

This was my first time ordering from south block and I was definitely pleasantly surprised. I ordered a magic dragon bowl, basically a dragon fruit bowl. There were many toppings that came with it: Gronola, coconut, agave, strawberry, goji berries. I also added nutella, cocao nibs. The dragon bowl is less sweet than the acai bowl so it is perfect for those who have less of a sweet tooth. It was so good! The gronola went so well with the smoothie since it gave it a nice crunch to it. However, it is a bit pricey, but the ingredients are definitely very fresh and the smoothie bowl as a whole is very refreshing! The bowls always fill me up as a breakfast or lunch, and the staff is super accommodating in modifying ingredients and toppings--something I'm pretty particular about. We tried the Warrior Bowl and PBJ Bowl acai bowls. The Warrior Bowl's got an assortment of fruit and pineapple juice so it was really refreshing and sweet. The PBJ bowl has peanut butter, almond milk, blueberries and bananas, and a lot less sweet than expected. If you're not a fan of almond milk, this is not the bowl for you. I love peanut butter but the almond milk tastes stronger throughout, especially once you finish all the bites with the peanut butter on top. Overall, South Block is a nice change-up from the regular breakfast options. Prices are a little high ($10-11 for an Acai Bowl), but not too bad if you're looking to just treat yourself with a healthier refreshing meal or snack... I really enjoyed my Nutella Bowl - it was perfect. Fresh fruit, tasty smoothie base, delicious homemade granola. I also appreciate that they carry my favorite brand of coffee - Counter Culture! The only reason I'm giving this place 4 rather than 5 stars is because the service was slow. They did have help-wanted signs posted, so I'm not sure if they were understaffed, but there were four people working and they still seemed overwhelmed/confused by the in-person and online orders. My friend and I waited a good bit for our food and were waiting for my fiancé's bowl when he decided to go up and ask them about it. They had forgotten about his order. I love south block but i prefer choosing Clarendon or Falls Church locations. Those two locations are fast, professional, and always bring pleasant location. When I visited Vienna one on Monday 1pm, there were 8 people waiting to order, and the young girl who makes acai bowl blender kept hitting the blender to the counter, which was very very loud, and it continued for looong time, which made me leave the store. I dont know if its the smaller location or less experienced staffs making it, but being at the store made me stressful.. the only reason i came this location today was to be able to park, but next time i would rather pay parking and go clarendon or falls church stores. you will have much better experience read more
