I came in mid-day during the work week and tried their Mahalo Mango smoothie (dairy free) which is an option for a lot of their smoothies which I appreciate. It seems that a lot of their smoothies are made for uber eats/take out customers as I was the only person in there, but I was certainly not the first smoothie that they were making. It was not an inexpensive endeavor for their small smoothie, which was the (8 oz?) I think? and came to about $7 before tip. Service was 'meh'... I got told that the gift card I had was expired - despite there being no expiration date on it. I had to wait an extended period of time because of the backlog of drinks for people who weren't there. There is no where to sit in the small store, so plan on either sitting outside on one of the small benches or picnic tables facing Old Dominion. When I did get my drink, it didn't really taste like anything. It was just cold .... and sort of sweet? So not something that I would go back for. read more

I rode over here his evening for a little healthy pick-me-up. I ordered two smoothies one for me and one for my boyfriend. My favorite of all time is the Strawnana Berry which features strawberries, bananas, yogurt, and apple juice. If I could order five of them I would do it because that's how this smoothie really is! My significant other lives the Mahalo Mango smoothie. This one has mango, pineapple yogurt and another type of yogurt. Instead of apple juice, they add papaya juice. We were the only customers in the store , so our smoothies were prepared special for us! There are plenty of tables and places to sit inside of the store, but we opted to take our smoothies to go to enjoy in the car. I have been to this location a few times. Management here always try to keep customers engaged by offering good promotions and bringing live music some nights (guitar player). It's really clean here and they are fairly quick with orders. It's nice as it is usually never crowded and the staff here is friendly. I do think the prices are a bit high, but that is the standard for grabbing smoothies in most places in the area. Each time I have had a smoothie here I used their promos so the cost wasn't way too bad. The smoothies themselves taste good and there is plenty of flavors to try that are delicious. read more

Some new in the neighborhood and it tasted so so good. Add a Popeye's chicken sandwich to the lunch as a solid food and you've got yourself a recipe of some big and wonderful. This store is one of the smallest I have seen, but it doesn't need to be big, to make great smoothies. This Bliss bad boy will be something I will aquire again and again. I'm so disappointed. I frequent this location a lot as I work around the corner. I love the super foods smoothies and often get the Hero's Garden. Last night, my coworker got me a large Hero's Garden around 7:00pm (to which they only made a medium) and it was not fully blended. It's common to have a few pieces of frozen pineapple or some seeds but it was like drinking a salad you still had to chew. I went back about an hour later on my break with a full cup to ask if they could remake it as it was an undrinkable texture and consistency. I was greeted with an attitude from a young male associate. He proceeded to take my smoothie, open the lid, swirl it around inspecting it while telling me that it looked fine and that it's normal to have kale bits in it. I order this smoothie. All. The. Time. A few bits, sure but not chewing greens. My home blender would have done a better job. I at least asked him to blend it again since he refused to remake it and when I asked for a new cup since his hands had been all over mine, he begrudging obliged and rolled his eyes. I understand it's a smoothie. It's not that serious. But the customer service matters. This interaction is the difference between me giving a glowing review, recommending to friends and being a frequent repeat customer to now this review, no longer recommending this establishment and a loss of a customer. The only reason I'll deem it 2 stars is because I've had great interactions previously when the owner or GM was in house. read more

I was really underwhelmed. I had used a 20% off coupon provided by 'yelp!' but the price was very high. I was charged more than I had calculated was to be the proposed price and I don't find the smoothies to be anything spectacular. I find you can make the same drinks at home for much less. I wanted papaya which the gentleman ordered for me but luckily the gal overheard and let me know they did not have the fruit but only the juice as he did not tell me. There is a big difference and I was not interested in the juice. We skipped it and the pineapple strawberry mango with soymilk honey and flax seed smoothie tasted great, but unfortunately too thick for my son( not their fault) so he could not drink it. Anyways I would return but be more specific about the thickness as my son has difficulty eating and drinking. It was the end of the day and there were no smiles or friendliness. No one greeted me as I walked in. Someone came in for an online order and they were the same for them and just handed them their smoothie. Sadly for this reason I would try and find another place if possible, but if not the smoothie was fine and the staff was working hard from what I can see. I do not want to overlook that maybe they were tired and overwhelmed but no tip from me when there is no additional effort to friendliness. I have been to a few Robeks before but this is my first review. Smoothies: They have a good variety and they taste incredible. I would ask that Robek team offer more veggie options with the fruits (nutritionists say now 'eat your fruits, juice your veggies' problem with this is veggies don't taste great a juice so you need a combo). Recommendation: Heart Health: mixture of fresh kale, pineapple, and cardio-enhancing supplements. Staff: The new Robeks in McLean has friendly staff, outstanding. Other: I really appreciated the fact they support a local McLean team (go Marlins!) and Fairfax County Police and Fairfax County Fire Department (see my photo). This used to be common in fast causal places (posting a local team you sponsor, showing local community support) - with so many chains you don't see this much any more. Anyway Robeks team, it was appreciated, thank you. Pricing: The price of healthy smoothies are interesting these days (Smoothie King, Jumba Juice, Robeks). Obviously the pricing is too high, but you do pay for the brick and motor. The smalls are too small, the bigs are too big as well (at all of these places). Wow the quality of food and service here is awful. Ordered tropical açaí bowl -- pieces of mango were clearly brown, spotted, mushy. The fruit was bad. I was looking at it and the manager (Chavez) came over and repeatedly insisted there was nothing wrong with the fruit, "that's just how mango looks". Seriously? The staff and service have generally improved at this location since it's opening. There is often someone playing live music which honestly can make the store awkward when it's empty. Hard to hear as well. The store is also on the smaller size so i would definitely say it's a to go place. They do have a good selection of packaged snacks if you also want to grab a bite. read more

I've been on a smoothie kick and found out today there was a Robeks in downtown McLean! My family usually goes to Vienna or Falls Church. It was nice to see this type of business make it to McLean. Typically, the rents are high which really pushes away certain types of businesses. This store just opened about two months ago, so there's little written about it. It's easy to find on Old Dominion Drive next to the Balducci and Burke & Herbert Bank. It's one block down (going toward Arlington) from Chipotle. Tonight they closed at 9pm. When I arrived at 8pm I found the door locked. But, the lady inside saw me and came around to open the door. She told me they were closing early since no one had come in this evening (makes sense since it's currently 15 degrees outside). I noticed she already cleaned everything up (pitchers, equipment, etc). But, she said to come inside anyway! Nice gesture. My drinks were made quickly and taste as expected. The store is very clean and well light. There are plenty of free veggies to select from, and I believe this location you can actually pick the veggies yourself and have them juiced. Hope to see this location do well! There are plenty of schools, events and organizations they can partner with. Looking forward to returning. read more

Do not come to this location . I walked in and had to wait 5 minutes to be helped. Alexa walked out from the back angry and didn't greet me at all . She rudely asked what do you want . I ordered my smoothie. She started slamming things and messed up my order. She put the wrong ingredients in finished my smoothie put it on the counter and went to the back to sit down. Recently I went to go grab a smoothie and I Didn't know much about the smoothie options so I politely asked the lady at the register to help me choose one. She was being quite rude and sarcastic and she made me feel very unwelcome, as if I was stupid for not knowing what was in the smoothies. If I remember correctly her name was Shaquille, or something along those lines, aside from being rude to her customers I also noticed she was being very rude to her employees, she seemed to be micromanaging them and had no sense of cooperation, just dictation. I always like juice and smoothie places especially on a hot day and it was pretty cool to try some of the flavors I probably wouldn't order on a normal basis. The P-Nut Power Plus was really interesting with the strong taste of peanut butter; I didn't expect to like it as much as I did and I really liked that it was wonderfully thick and creamy which made it truly feel like it was full of protein. The Root to Stem juice might have been fine if it weren't for the overwhelming taste of ginger that drowned out all the other nice ingredients.
