The front staff was friendly and courteous. The technicians in the back for the MRI were very inexperienced and very rude. I am a paraplegic, and there was no way for me to get from my wheelchair onto the MRI table. Fortunately, I had my caregiver with me and he was able to assist me. The MRI was so small that I could not get in without hitting my elbows. There was no instruction and it was almost unbearable. I believe this was a very antiquated MRI machine. I also had a CAT scan and a personal were far more accommodating. I've had many many MRIs, and this is by far the worst experience I've had. read more

Good and bad here: Always available Quick turnaround Major downfall: They provide you a CD which no other doctor can access or read. BB does not provide access to your file and the images are useless unless you do business with certain doctors that they grant access. These belong to the patient, my insurance pays them for the film and the only thing they will provide is a fax copy to the doctor of the report. Make sure you understand or this expensive venture means nothing. read more

I need X-ray, and my lawyer suggest this place. It's in very clean and neat place. I got there 30 minutes before my appointment but I still had to wait as you can see on picture place was empty. Receptionist had headphones on and when I asked a question she shout out answer because she couldn't hear herself. She was very rude too. While I was Not looking forward to my CT scan with contrasts....it was actually a pleasant experience !! The front office ladies were kind & respectful. The 'dye' was mixed into Crystal Light, so very drinkable. & Anthony was so cheerful, explaining every step & answering all my questions...he is very patient. He made it a great experience! This imaging center is awsome! They accommodated my schedule and understood that I needed to get it done quickly. Once I got there the check-in was fast and efficient and the girls in their front desk were freindly as well as the technician in the back she made me feel very comfortable with the MRI. This is very important because most of the time people are walking in there feeling pretty bad and the last thing you need is someone with an attitude to add on to whatever you're dealing with already!!! I will definitely let my friends and family know that this place is worth the drive if they can't get in anywhere else. read more

They are the most incompetent medical imaging/health care office that I have ever dealt with, and that is saying alot! Their support staff cancelled my appointment because they said my insurance had been cancelled when (as I explained to them) it had been switched to a new account. I was there for an x-ray one week ago and again this week for an MRI. Back Bay provided me with fast, friendly, and professional service. The staff does a temperature check upon arrival. The space was very clean and had hand sanitizer available. The techs went over the imaging procedure both times and were very helpful. The only slightly confusing part was parking: use the adjacent parking structure. I paid $2.50 and $5 respectively using a credit card. Alternatively, you could use free street parking down hill in the Upper Newport Bay trail area. read more

This is an amazing imaging center. It is brand new, clean, and the machines make me feel like I'm in Star Trek. I have been to other imaging centers before in Los Angeles and Orange County, and the staff here is by far the most competent and friendly. I had a really great experience here. I was able to talk a little bit with the tech Jessie and she was very helpful. Will make sure friends and family who need imaging services call this place, hopefully their insurance is contracted here. read more

HOW A MEDICAL APPOINTMENT SHOULD BE! We went here and they are fantastic. Superb. Everyone was very friendly informative and paperwork was easy. Location was easy to find as there is a sign located outside the building. The person taking the X-ray was so friendly and made it so easy. The place is clean and well managed. I wouldn't hesitate referring this place to anyone. I'm glad I found this gem as I'm sure me or my family members will be needing xrays/MRIs in the future! Went there for an X ray, the receptionist was very rude to the point I felt compelled to ask her why was she being so rude but let it go. Called today to make an appointment for an MRI and got the same experience, albeit over the phone. I will definitely look for another place. My doctor requested for me to get an MRI and they explained that the Imaging center would call me once they got my insurances approval. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. They were able to get an unexpected additional MRI approved by my insurance and rearranged their schedule just to accommodate me, and saved me from having to take another day off of work, due to I live in Covina. They went over and beyond my expectations and were very kind, professional and efficient. They make sure I was comfortable and got back out and on my way in record time. I had to have two MRI's, and, after having had several in prior years at other facilities, I became claustrophobic and was very concerned that I could handle two MRI's back to back. Horrible experience with Back Bay Imaging. After a delicate spine surgery my doctor asked to get new imaging after significant post surgery pain. I went to Back Bay and they insisted I pay up front for the images. They charged me $1100 and promised they would refund me once insurance paid them. My insurance paid them in full in January but they have not refunded my payment as promised. This company does not look out for the best interests of its patients and only interested in financial gain. Also the rude treatment from the staff while I was asking for a legitimate refund shows the companies true unprofessional character. STAY AWAY read more

This group was recommended by a friend, I called to set up an MRI and they asked for appropriate information to call insurance and get it approved. After 6 days of no response I finally got in touch with them and they said they still had not called insurance for approval and did not know how much longer it would take. Astonished and unable to believe they could not even make the initial call for 6 days, I challenged them. They said that others were a priority and there were still many people ahead of me. This was just to make the first call! No problems just no action. After some polite complaining I was told they did not know when the would have time to contact my insurance and if this was not acceptable to me that I should move on. Cannot make this stuff up. Maybe I just caught the wrong employee on the wrong day. Moved on to Newport Imaging. Got approval in a day and my appointment is for next week. read more
