John Garrett and his team did an excellent job in repairing my Hyundai Elantra after it had been stolen and trashed.

So I went to get an oil change today. Before I dive in I…read morewant to say I already expect to be up charged or offered other services. I pull up I tell the gentleman I just want an oil change. Only an oil change. I leave my vehicle, they call me to go over the invoice. The young lady working shows me my filters and says something about changing them. I say no, I'm fine I just want the oil change. She says are you sure, this is the air you breathe. I say yes I'm sure I can change that myself pretty easy, just the oil. Then she mentions brakes and another worker comes and mentions my windshield wiper, which has been working fine just used them the other day but to all of this I say no thank you, just the oil. She then asked about the filters again, to which I gave the same response. She says ok, this is the air you're going to have to breathe makes a face and starts laughing as she takes them back to my vehicle. Which I personally think is a little unprofessional. My car gets finished. I go in to pay, I pass her the money she gives me the change I say thank you, she says mmhm. I turn around she says "do you want your keys" I say something like oh they aren't in the car? When I get into my vehicle I pull off when I look to my passenger side all of the papers that were in my glove compartment are on the seat and floor so I turn around to go back. I spoke with a different person and just asked why they'd be out of the glove compartment, I should have got his name because he was professional, he says oh they went into the glove box to get the cabin filter but the items should have been put back to where they came from and I informed him of the interaction. This review is a combination from all of the slightly off-putting things that happened after declining extra services that seemed like micro-aggressions stacked on top of each other. What I think should have been a pretty basic and normal thing suddenly felt petty. I usually don't go to this location and probably won't again, no hard feelings to the staff that was uninvolved more so writing this review to educate how one tiny little micro-aggression or gesture can make or break the level of service and make even small mistakes seem intentional.

I am sharing this publicly because I have been without a vehicle since November 8th, and Pep Boys…read morehas still not provided a single written update, inspection, or resolution--despite multiple promises from their customer relations team. After Pep Boys Marlow Heights (Store #0073) installed new tires on my 2007 Toyota Camry, my car immediately developed rubbing noises and visible tire damage that did not exist prior to their service. My vehicle has been unsafe to drive ever since. I followed every step they gave me. I contacted them repeatedly. I sent photos, emails, and documentation. I even told them my phone was broken and asked for written communication so everything could be documented. They ignored that and still never reached out. At this point: * My car is undriveable * I've had to move it in unsafe condition just to avoid towing * I've exhausted money paying for storage * Pep Boys closed my case with no resolution * No one from the store or corporate has contacted me in writing * This situation has now reached the BBB and Maryland Consumer Protection Division All I am asking for is a proper inspection, a written explanation, and corrective repairs for an issue that happened immediately after their work. Pep Boys, I need a real response and accountability. My case number: #293296. I am requesting that a corporate-level representative contact me by email, as I have stated from the beginning. This has gone on long enough. -- Chiquita Edwards

The initial diagnostic showed three codes, including one for the fuel rail - and electrical issue and they recommended replacing the fuel regulator. When I asked for documentation showing that the fuel system or regulator was actually tested, they could not provide any proof--everything was explained verbally only. I later asked them to check if my car had too much oil, test drive it, and see if the codes cleared. Khalil called back told me my car supposedly had 5 quarts of oil and later 8 quarts of oil when i went into the shop to speak f2f, he said they drained it, and performed another oil change - that I did not authorize. And my codes never cleared. I asked for documentation of the post-oil drain inspection, proof of the test drive, and proof that my fuel system had been tested. None was provided. They only provided a work order for services rendered and recommended. The manager Khalil and the big fish with the blonde hair refused to provide documentation that any work was done and later shared i would need to pay an addtnl dx fee of $110. The staff decided to argue me down abt my little car having 8 quarts of oil. I refused to pay for the unauthorized oil change. I was going to pay the dx fee but kept asking for documentation that work was done. They had my car for 48hrs. The manager, Khalil, gave me my key, told me I would not be charged, and told me to leave. I arrived with a check engine light and slight knocking and left with my car still knocking and now shaking. I would encourage anyone to be cautious going to this shop.

Also due to the terrible timing, many mechanic shops were closed for the week so I took to the internet to find a quick solutions. My search brought me to Rescue Mobile. I reached out and very quickly, I connected with Travis. He was great to communicate with, informative and reasonably priced. We exchanged multiple messages and phone calls where he was thorough in providing me the infomration of how he works and estimat for repair. His price was comparable to my usual mechanic and much less than the dealer but he actually came to my house to complete the repair! This saved me the hassle of trying to arrange for a tow. He also completed the job in less than 2 hours without me being at home. Although we never met in person, I am truly lucky for finding Travis and am so happy of having a new option for future mechanical needs!

His resume includes the auto maintenance department at Tesla and Nissan. His message online wasn't to see how much money he could get out of his customer, but educational. His kindness included taking me to the airport because my car wasn't driveable an act that is lacking and was genuinely wholesome. I needed some major braking repairs done, so I started looking for a new mechanic shop. I found a lot of body shops online that I planned on visiting. Autocare Services, was the first body shop I planned on visiting. Needless to say that after visiting Autocare Services, I came away very impressed and did not visit any other mechanic shops. The mechanic Steve at Autocare Services goes out of his way for the customers. In a matter of minutes Steve was able to tell me what I needed repaired and let me know that my old body shop did not go a good job on my previous repairs. Additionally, Steve made sure that I was getting the best parts at reasonable price ( on a college student budget). The mechanic steve was a able to repair my disc break rotor (rear), disc break caliper (front) and suspension struts. The end result was an impeccably done repair. Job well done!!! (he even fixed a minor trunk problem in my car I presented to him later on at no cost). They fixed my car quickly and with quality. I would absolutely recommend, and this is where I will go from now on for my car's repairs. Great service and quality all the way through.
