This is my third Kia in a row. My first two were a 2021 Sorento and a 2023 K5, both purchased from South Dade Kia on US-1, and my experience there was very good. On June 6, 2026, I decided to trade in my K5 and went to Kia of Homestead, where I purchased a 2026 Sportage. The monthly payment wasn't exactly what I wanted, but that's something that can happen. My bad experience started with the trade-in. My K5 had positive equity, and I was told I would receive a $1,000 refund check within two weeks or less. To make a long story short, I've called several times, and nobody seems to know anything about the check. No one can give me a clear answer. I also called Kia Finance, and they confirmed that my previous vehicle was paid off a while ago, but they don't know anything about a refund check either. My advice is simple: if you want to avoid this kind of experience, sell your trade-in to a company like CarMax instead. They pay you on the spot, and then you can take your money and buy the car you want from any dealership. This won't happen to me again. I won't be doing business with Kia of Homestead in the future. As a result, I am now stuck with a $40,000 vehicle that failed almost immediately due to a faulty thermostat and put my family in a dangerous and stressful situation. This experience has been extremely disappointing and unacceptable. What made the situation worse was the dealer's response. I was told that these things are "kind of normal" and that they sometimes happen. That explanation is completely unacceptable for a brand-new vehicle. I was replacing my 10 year old 126,000 miles Kia Soul that in 10 years only needed oil changes. I had already read the reviews of the Telluride and the Sportage, so we bought them. A few months later, I just took in my Telluride for service. I made an appointment and was lucky enough to get in on the same day. The customer service rep at the service desk, Brenda, I believe was professional, quick, and polite. They even called for a Lyft ride to take me home while I waited for the oil change and tire rotation on my car.
