I just had the most fantastic experience at Japanese Auto Care South. Wife's car, a 2016 Accura where had the A/C blower stop working. I tried the easy stuff relay, fuse checks, and all looked good. Found this place online after a bit of research looking for Honda/Accura specialists. Well, my story is that the A/C ended up getting fixed on the way. It could be one of those dips and potholes on the way that must have kicked it back to work. Well, it was Carlene that we had spoken with that called us back to let us know the A/C was working. Any other place would have charged me and told me they had fixed or swapped out a part. I FINALLY have found the HONEST repair shop I plan to go to for years. We had taken my wife's car to about 10 different mechanics in this area, including the dealership several times, to try and fix a rumbling problem in the front axel. None of them knew how to fix it, but instead tried to sell us a bunch of needless repairs that we didn't want. We happened to have an overheating problem one day up by these guys, so we had the car towed there. Wow!! I'll never use another repair shop here in Miami Dade. Not only did they fix the overheating issue, but they knew exactly what the rumble noise was from that we had been trying to get fixed for nearly two years. These guys were super knowledgeable, very friendly, and come with very reasonable prices. If you have a Honda or any Japanese vehicle that needs some work, definitely go by these guys first! They will tell you exactly what the problem is, breakdown the costs, and if possible give you other options that aren't as expensive. Amazing customer service from the wonderful Heline at the front desk, who made me aware of everything being done and was patient and kind. Amazing work done by her husband on my car, he also explained some things to me so that I could take better care of her (my car). They are extremely fast and reasonable, my car had a ton of issues and they were all resolved in less than 24 hours. The folks at Japanese Auto Care saved me from a $12,000 mistake. and for that they earned my five stars. I brought to them for an inspection a 2007 Toyota Avalon I was about to buy from a top luxury car dealership. The car had only 36,600 miles on it and looked new. Had a clean CARFAX. But this shop hooked it to their computer, put it up in their lift and inspected it thoroughly. Prognosis: Had been involved in a frontal crash, needed a new rack and pinion steering, needed an expensive center stop light. There were various sensors reporting error. They issued s detailed written report. Cost of repairs $1,600. Devaluation as a result of frontal collision, $3,000. I took the car back to the dealer and gave them a copy of the report. Most importantly, they care about their customers. My son had his car in another shop a few weeks ago for maintenance and a starting problem when hot. The other shop performed the maintenance however they could not diagnose the starting problem. They suggested my son take the car to a specialty shop. Since I am out of state, I used google to find a shop that I was comfortable with. I found Japanese Auto Care to have excellent ratings. My son brought the car to the shop. At first they were unable to find the starting problem, however, they continued to investigate. They were finally able to diagnose the problem and do the repairs. They also found that the oil was overfilled by the previous shop by 1/2 a quart. I spoke with Carlene many times over the phone and explained the situation to her. Carlene was fantastic. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Japanese Auto Care. I am grateful for everything they did to help out with my son's car. read more

My prius car suddenly stall during driving. so I towed my car to this store as towing company said it is closest mechanic. It is the first time I visit it. I dropped the car at parking, the front desk told me I had to wait for 30-60 minutes before they can check,as every body is busy. I thought I could seek a second opinion during waiting since one mechanic told me over the phone there might be some complicated circuit problems. so I went to another store right next to do it for checkup. after 30 minutes I came back asking for this guy's diagnostic checking up. one old guy came in and yelled at me: questioning me why I went to his neighbor store. I had no clue why he is so rude and mad at me. I understand he hate his competitor. But I am the customer,I had every right to seek various opinions before I make a decision. The old guy told me he was the store owner and major engineer. apparently he is senseless and still need to learn how to treat his customer from ABC. I will be very surprised he know how to repair a relatively complicated car problem, as he even can't figure out the simplest mechanism related with his customer. I must admit I am extremely picky when it comes to maintenance on anything I own. Most of the time, whether it's my house, guitar or car, I research whatever needs to be done and do the work myself, but once a year or so, I try to take my car in to an actual shop so they can take a look and give me any feedback if needed. This year, the choice was Japanese Auto Care and I needed an oil change and tire rotation. Setting up a time to come in was great. The customer service over the phone was exceptional. Upon arriving, the waiting area was a little smaller than usual, but I wasn't bothered because most shops don't offer luxurious waiting areas like you see at a dealership. My review at this point was still 5 stars due to the great customer service I received. I had a ride pick me up cause they said it would be a while. After waiting a few hours, I still had not received a call back, so I called the shop and they said my car was ready. After picking up my car, my bill was a little high, but not astronomical. I paid $62 for a synthetic oil change. They said the tire rotation was free cause it was my first time. My last service shop was Braman, who sucked big time, but their prices were more competitive. They charged $52. At this point, I was still satisfied and would have reviewed a 4 at the worst. Today (5 days after the tire rotation and oil change), I decided to wash my car and as I was cleaning the front right tire, I came to find one of my lug nuts was missing. This is where I draw the line and bolster my argument for doing things on my own. A missing lug nut I can only blame on the shop. They rotated the tires and would have noticed if a lug nut was missing. So even if it was missing originally, it would be their responsibility to let me know since they were working on the vehicle, but I was told the car was in great condition, so I am going to guess that they either forgot to put it on or didn't tighten it enough. I drive long distances on the highway with barely any traffic, so I can't afford to risk this kind of sloppy work being done again. Sorry, but I can't say I will ever go back to Japanese Auto Care, which is upsetting because the customer service was actually pretty satisfactory. read more

I went to the shop late in the afternoon and I noticed they were busy finishing up for the day. My Honda Accord AC clutch was not kick starting as usual. In less than 5 minutes the relay had been replaced and the air was back on working as usual. I was amazed at their HONESTY in a city where almost everyone is out to take everyone for a ride. This individual Audie is a true character. I have been collecting cars since I was 16 have owned over 250 different ones and have extensive knowledge about them. I brought my 1997 Acura RL for an egr port and intake passage cleaning and he checks out the car comes back into the office half an hour later and says it's fixed. He then walked with me to the car and sat down and states that he raised my idle via the idle screw. He then tells his wife to charge me $85 for turning the screw. I advise him that the car is still idling rough and then he does the oldest trick in the mechanic books says "it's the mounts". Lol my car's mounts are fine. This guy has been at this shop for 30 years.. Why he treated me like pure garbage idk maybe he wasn't in a good mood that day. Ever since he advanced the idle by adjusting the idle screw my car has been terrible in gas still has rough idle and the check engine light is back on with the exact same error code p0401. If you speak to any Acura/Honda mechanic and tell him u changed your egr valve and are still getting the same code they will guarantee you that it's the egr port and intake passages that need cleaning. I thought these people at this shop would be good people them being Japanese and all but oh boy was I wrong. This lazy guy by the name of "Audie" would much rather cash out $85 for turning a screw than have to remove the intake manifold and do the proper repair. I've tried calling the shop back a few times and I'm sure the minute they see Michael Jackson pop up in their caller ID they purposefully don't answer. Thank you Audie and Wife for making it clear to me that no mechanic is a good honest one in this day and age. I will never step foot in this place again. This man blindly robbed me and enjoyed it. I hope it was well worth it. Ladies and gentleman if you're one bit intelligent please steer clear of this place. read more

This shop is a good reason to live in Miami! We found this shop on Cars.com after years of frustration with the Honda dealerships, and we shall be eternally grateful. Audie, the manager, also works on the cars and has a small but skillful staff. It's been several years now that we've taken both our Hondas to him, and we haven't had a problem he hasn't quickly diagnosed and fixed for a small fraction of the price we'd been paying the dealership for less reliable service. The guidance he's given us for maintaining the cars between check-ups has saved us even more. He's ready to tell us when something is covered under warranty and should be repaired at the dealer or when we'd do better to buy parts ourselves (as when I had a bent rim and was sent to a reputable junkyard for a replacement).
