Got my confirmation call the night before and all was set for 3P on a Friday. Took the day off work to be here and no one showed up. Our experience with Miami Doors did not match what other people relate in their reviews. The 10 interior doors, a large purchase, themselves are fine, but the installation experience was bad. When David, the owner, came out to measure, I mentioned to him that I wanted the tie rack on the inside of my closet door put back on the new door. He said they did not like to attach things to their nice, brand-new doors, but the installer would do so upon request. When I asked the installer to reattach the tie rack, he said no and was rude. I was rude back and told him I would not have asked him but for what David had told me. Once I got argumentative, he said he would do it. I told him don't bother. My father taught me "If you can't do something graciously, don't do it." Perhaps the installer should've met my father. I looked at the first door installed and saw that the new top hinge was screwed in quite a ways outside of the footprint of the old hinge, and the top of the door leaned away from the top of the door frame. I called the installer over to complain. He told me it was a problem of the frame. I continued to complain and he told me he would have to get his assistant to come and push in at the top of the door to fix the situation. The two of them did so, and the door turned out fine. Our concern was that the door was not installed correctly to begin with, and was only corrected with our complaints, which was not reassuring to us with nine doors left to install. It seemed as if they needed to know we were pressuring them to get the rest of the doors installed correctly. I called David afterwards. He told me that my experience was not customary for his company. Perhaps. But this experience did happen to us. read more

This is a long and overdue review of Miami Doors. Firstly, Dave has been extremely helpful with our project. He has taken every step to make sure that our door installation was perfect and takes his own time during his busy schedule to come out to the installation site for quality assurance. We've been in our home for over 6 years without any closet doors in any of the rooms awaiting for the right time. In the beginning, we only had in mind of installing in closet doors. But after the first appointment, we just had this bright idea of replacing all the doors in the living quarters on the second floor. So glad we did, because it sure makes a big difference on sound bypassing from the previously cheaply installed, large volume contract batch doors from the home builder... Miami Doors are quality and constructed well with some "beef" to the door. Not those generic doors you can pick up at the local hardware store that if you knock hard, you might end up with your hand through the door. The process with Miami Doors makes the installation simple, much easier than awaiting several days before your doors are installed. When the doors are produced, they come sized alteraste with minor adjustments to be made so it definitely cuts the time of the installation being long drawn. We are extremely pleased in the overall work and quality of the doors. Definitely recommend anyone that need Doors to consider this technology of premeasuring for the construction of your doors to be close to exact fit. read more

Placing the order was fine. The doors were delayed due to COVID. But that's not their fault. What did concern me? The installation was a nightmare. Two men took 9 hours (not kidding) to hang 6 doors! While here, they treated my house poorly... stepping on my carpets with dirty shoes; I had to constantly remind Moises the younger man to put his mask on; they used my bathrooms without asking; and left three bags of their trash on my front doorstep! Who does this? Worse yet, I had to sweep and clean up all of their fragments; one door jam is so beaten up, I need to have it sanded and repainted; and i had to show them how to install my hardware on no less than four occasions (they kept trying to skip out saying I didn't have the right parts. You bet i did! I showed them.). I truly cannot recommend the experiences I had with Jeff and Moises... the installers. It was awful. read more

It took me nearly two months to find a contractor here in South Florida who would call me back and help me figure out how to get new closet and bathroom doors! Home Depot was a joke, other national chains never showed up to my scheduled appointments..then I found Miami Doors and Closets and to my shock, someone, a human, answered the phone when I called! She was sweet, attentive and immediately scheduled an appointment and confirmed a few days later. David, the owner showed up at my home, walked me through the process and pricing, measured my doors, gave me the options that I had since I live in a building with metal door frames and we scheduled the installation. Sunny and Jefferey installed my doors and these guys were the best! Kind, considerate, skillful at their craft and most of all they are hard workers. My doors look amazing. I had those old louvered style doors, they were dingy, old and just a yucky eyesore, NOW I have beautifully sleek, elegant and clean looking doors. Take a look at my before and after photos. I love my new doors! My house is 44 years old and had original doors. They were plain, hollow, repainted several times, scratched and scuffed. One was split open. The garage door was warped. They were definitely ready for replacement. I was already in the middle of a bath remodel and I wanted a larger door for that, so I needed a new door frame. My carpenter removed the old door frame, enlarged the opening, and installed a cheap door. It was messy and the casing (trim) has to be replaced now. Doing one that was enough to convince me I didn't want to go that way with all seven. Too slow, messy, and disruptive. David came to my house and explained the options. I wanted to know everything about their construction, because I want them to outlast me. I picked the "Melrose" style from their Modern Collection and I insisted on their upgraded solid-core model. (I later visited the showroom and tried out the standard door. It's got a structural framework through the middle so it's very sturdy without being heavy.) David used his measuring machine to take precise measurements of the seven doors. I appreciate that he's very meticulous. It took about 8 weeks for manufacturing, delivery, and scheduling of the installers. This was in line with David's estimate and worked well for me. Two installers arrived at 9:00 am to install the doors. They were very courteous and professional. It's clear they've had a lot of experience despite working for a new company. They installed all seven doors on new hinges they supplied. They installed my new Kwikset Halifax handles and Downtown deadbolts in bronze. The installers were very receptive and responsive to my suggestions. After they'd finished, David returned to inspect their work. He found a couple imperfections and corrected them himself right away. Overall this has been the easiest upgrade we've ever done and the results are excellent.
