It's a very cool experience walking into Del Buono's Bakery with the bread-making machine being the…read moremain focal point of the room. Tons of fresh bread smells fill the air, and carts are loaded with different baked goods throughout the space. However, the conveyor belt that hangs above does drop constant bread flakes, and the floor becomes very slippery, which is a legitimate safety concern. With so many carts full of product sitting out, it does make you wonder how long some of the baked goods have been left out. I ordered three large subs online the day before to be prepped for a birthday party we were headed to in Atlantic City the following day. Unfortunately, the staff didn't realize this on their end, and the pickup got extended to 15-20 minutes later with extra help from the back. I think with the rushed work needed, the sandwiches suffered from this. There wasn't much meat and cheese at the end of the sandwiches, and the flavors were just okay, nothing special. The donuts ended up being a little hard with a sort of wet feeling to them. The regular cheesecake slice tasted more like cottage cheese and not much like normal cheesecake, which was disappointing. For a bakery with such a long-standing reputation in the community, I expected better quality control, especially for a pre-ordered party order.

I decided to enter because I liked the flavors of the day. Once inside, It was bright and clean. The owner was super nice and friendly. She has been in business for over 10 years and at this location a few months. The flavors of the day were as follows: Apple pie, fruity pebbles, lemon drop, iced oatmeal, chocolate chip, banana pudding, peach cobbler, cookie and cream, & chocolate cookie & cream. I know you want to know which ones I chose, so I'm going to give you my selections from Best to Worst (in my opinion, of course) I must let you all know that the cookies were soft and moist. I bought the cookies at 4pm and didn't eat them until 11pm and they were still soft and chewy (judgement free zone here folks) 1. Fruity Pebbles- very good. My top choice. Fruity pebbles and the icing tasted well together with the cookie and with my milkshake. 2. Lemon drop- lemon flavor was subtle. 3. Chocolate chip- just ok 4. Chocolate Cookie & Cream- too much chocolate for me Make sure you support this young woman. She ships nation wide and she also has cookie classes. This is a win-win for the community. Till we eat again...

I had to try it for myself! I bought a box of various cookies. Most definitely I loved the decorative apple pie cookie. It was perfect in every way! Looks so pretty & tastes so heavenly. (・・) I wish I had my ukelele with me so I could play/ sing PYT to my cookie. I really love being inside this bakery. Although I didn't meet the owner, the staff member was so king, sweet and helpful. ( ° °) note: they are only open FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY. I would love to hangout inside another time & enjoy a glass of milk, the retro music , cute decor and their luscious apple pie cookie. Rice Krispy cookie also fun & tasty!!

FOOD I visited with a couple friends and tried a range of…read morepastries-- the double chocolate croissant, kouign amann, orange cardamom morning bun, and rhubarb danish. -Double chocolate pain au chocolat: Not too sweet but a bit too flaky and lacked flavor (not enough chocolate taste to shine through) -Kouign amann: My favorite pastry but unfortunately also a bit too dry and lacking in flavor. It was more of a croissant than the buttery pastry I associate kouign amanns with -Orange cardamom morning bun: My favorite of the pastries! Light, airy, and just the right touch of sweetness -Rhubarb danish: Very unique but not for me. The rhubarb was very tangy and a bit tough to chew. The texture was an interesting contrast to the flakiness of the rest of the pastry and the smoothness of the cream Unfortunately, I set my expectations a bit too high and the items I tried unfortunately fell short. SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! The line can get quite long, but the staff are really efficient and moving the line along. AMBIANCE Located in the Bok Building, there's ample seating in the general seating area right by and behind the storefront. The space is shared with other guests visiting Two Persons Coffee and the stores in Bok. I saw some people working/studying, but it can get quite busy/loud. PARKING Paid street parking is available at a limited capacity. Most people park in neighboring streets or take the bus. BATHROOMS Bathrooms are located throughout the building.

The service is nice, and the space is light filled, not too large, but enough seatings. Even if there are no seats inside the bakery you can most likely find seatings in the hallway area. My family and I enjoyed all their pastries, and I really like the fact that these aren't super sweet. Some of their pastries are so pretty also. Cannot wait to go back and try other items!
