**** Nice little shopping district in Pasadena **** The shops on the east side of South Lake Avenue are notable for being accessible from the street and from Shoppers' lane, a half-mile long alleyway that runs alongside Lake Avenue. Also located on Lake Avenue is a large Macy's department store built in early 1940s modern architecture. At the center of the neighborhood is Caltech, Grant Park, and Tournament Park. Many shops and restaurant can be found in South lake Avenue. Many franchise can be found here, it does lack sport bars, almost none exist here. Parking is easier than Old Town, many shop got its own private lot that can park for free. A lot of banks are located here, included some financial investment one. This area is great for single and couple. Also every Wednesday a smaller version of farmer marker is held here. Crime is lower than in old town, also is a lot less crowded compare as well. Housing nearby is a bit pricey, is not idea to raise family here, the public school system still terrible.

The atmosphere is fantastic, with outdoor seating where you can enjoy a coffee, get some work done, or just hang out and relax. A unique feature of the courtyard is the two red telephone booths, which add a fun decorative touch and make the space feel even more inviting. After our meal, I was able to shop at Williams-Sonoma, which is conveniently located here, along with other great businesses and restaurants, including: * FACILE * SOULCYCLE * Drybar * Green Street Restaurant * Lemonade Restaurant * Philz Coffee * UOVO * Mercado * Dan Modern Chinese * SUGARFISH * The Counter * TravelStore Whether you're grabbing a bite to eat, shopping, or just looking for a cozy spot to relax, The Commons is a great place to visit. Recommend you checking this place out when you're in Pasadena!

What caught my eye were the two red phone booths (feels like you're in London) but it had no phones inside, but it's okay! There is still a Christmas tree in the middle of all the restaurants. The places to eat here are the following: * Philz Coffee - my fave coffee shop in Pasadena! * Dan Modern Chinese * Lemonade * Mercado (Mexican cuisine) * Sugarfish by Sushi Nozawa * The Counter * Green Street Restaurant * Uovo (Italian cuisine) Some of the restaurants I had tried in other locations except for Dan Modern Chinese, Mercado, Green Street Italian and Uovo. Looking forward to try these! For retail and services, there's the Dry Bar, Soulcycle, Facile Skin Care and Williams Sonoma. It's a small complex and not too crowded. I would take family and friends here to eat and relax.

Have seen more people drive so fast in the parking lot, or open up the windows to scream at random people. fights also occurred at the parking lot once a while. There were also smash and grab years ago at some shops. (It was on the news) Most of the shops here are average At best even the department stores. Tons of Asian based toy stores. A 99 ranch super market. Some Asian based J and K beauty shops. A couple nice restaurants (but not high end). A big but always crowded Japanese book store (even more so crowded than the one in dtla). Typical clothing franchises. And a pretty regular food court. I never really thought this was a nice mall but now it feels like this place is giving more a ghetto vibe. I personally wouldn't come here often to celebrate /or host important events, unless necessary. I would avoid this place on the weekdays or holidays if you don't like crowds. Really, just a sub-standard mall But I think people just need a place to hang. Each to their own I suppose. Good luck people : )
