This is a view of dwntwn PHX from a study room. I frequent this library for the views and the great envirnonment.

As I sit on my "perch" on the second floor of this library, I write this review. I absolutely LOVE coming here and I give this library my 3rd 5-star rating. Here is why.... (Keep in mind, I'm writing this review as a working professional and not as a student of the college). When you walk into this library, you are awe-struck by the beautiful architectural design of the building. During the day, this library is full of bright natural light because it is surrounded by glass windows from top to bottom. The library is a huge open air space so that the light flows from the 2nd floor down to the first floor. I come to this library to read my own books or use their computers to do some studying. I love to take one of the computers that faces the Southeast of the building. There are near panoramic views of South Mountain. The views are stunning as, I believe, this is the tallest building south of downtown. The library provides free (for now) wi-fi. Private study room are reservable for the public use. State of the art media rooms that must be reserved. There are a few things I want to keep secret. I don't want everyone in the VAlley to know because I don't want to see this library turn into the circus at some libraries. YOu'll have to find out for yourself. The library is conveniently located on the South Mountain Community College Campus if you attend school or live in the area, that's a bonus. I personally never imagined myself being that person that comes to the library weekly to read a book . I could do this at the Starbucks up the street that I am the Duchess of. BUT, I LOVE this place and I spend less money! ;-) But to be honest I do. I'm a bonafide people watcher too, and I have found that there are other regulars to the library just like e and they all have their own interesting stories. Some of them I've talked to and inquired about why they frequent the SML and others, I just observe quietly.

Women's restroom. Full length mirror, clean bathroom, 2 sinks. Handicap stall.

As you drive into Fremont Rd from 24th turn right when you see the Library sign. You have to be up close to see the sign. The parking lot in front of the library is reserved for library visitors only with four handicap parking spots out front. When you walk in there's a table of resources for The Community College here. If you walk straight past the table you'll come across the information table where you can open a library card. I just showed my ID card. The gentleman didn't even ask for my mail like other libraries do. You get the option of keychain card or wallet size. And a pamphlet with all the information about late fees and the library. The library has an elevator and is handicap friendly. Even there restrooms have the handicap button for one stall and it's well kept and looks nice and clean. They have touch sensor paper towel dispensers. The interior decor is very pretty. Big Children's section and a huge section upstairs for computer use. Great place for students. They have printing stations for a small fee. There are also Express computers downstairs. You get 15 minutes to use it and you get three uses in one day. Great if you just need to do something quick. They even have report forms to report to Maricopa County Sheriff. Near the entrance. Plenty of study rooms.

My 4th grader loves coming and hanging out in the castle playing with the LEGO tables and other stem toys. Very inviting and just outside is the splash pad and park. The adults section is huge with lots of seating, tables, and comfortable chairs to read on. They have a large 2 room Book Sale section where you can find books, magazines, puzzles and dvds for $1-$3. My favorite library in Arizona. Also there's a full service cafe inside the library. I ordered a coffee today. Very convenient!

One of the first things I noticed was how spacious the library feels. Everything looked clean and well maintained, which made it a really comfortable place to settle in and focus. There was actually already a line of people waiting outside for the library to open at 1 PM on Sunday, which says a lot about how popular it is. One feature I thought was especially cool is their seed library, where you can pick up seeds to plant your own plants at home. They also offer the usual cultural passes, which is always a great perk with a library card. Speaking of that, I really liked how unique their library card designs are. I was able to sign up for a card today thanks to a very helpful staff member who made the process quick and easy. Inside, there were plenty of tables and outlets almost everywhere, which made it perfect for getting work done. There is also a free charging center where you can charge devices. Parking was also simple. I parked at the Scottsdale Civic Center Garage, which made access really convenient. Overall, I was very happy with my visit today and will definitely be coming back.

All Phoenix public libraries offer it once a year and it's a great program, especially if you have little ones. It's fun and my son has loved picking out his little prizes when he earns them. It's nice for adults as well since they have programs for all and it's also free. Love it, thank you Phoenix public libraries for this cool offering for engaging, learning and savings. Currently, this location has extended hours due to their heat relief program so they're open til 9pm. I'm not here for heat relief but appreciate that those not needing it can still benefit with the continued full services being offered. I drove 30 min here since they are the only location open. Overall, it's been comfortable, clean, quiet and a pleasant visit. The staff is kind and accommodating with great customer service and it's a spacious, amenity abundant location.
