Our big breed didn't have much gallop space in the K9, but front to back, this campground is huge and woodsy, so it was at least a great dog walking spot. The swans this campground is known for were indeed present as well as herons, geese, and a few birds we don't typically see at home. As the signs also posted there was a lake alligator, our first outside a zoo, but it kept a good distance from the lakeshore. The map even shows a bird sanctuary, and at twilight bats were doing their part. Disney was our ultimate destination but this was an excellent landing spot, to and from. It was also worth the extra night so we could poke around Savannah and Fort Pulaski (jumping fish on our memorable mini-trip). The store was well-stocked with cold drinks for all ages, souvenirs and tourist info, and some RV sundries (Food Lion just past I-95 had the rest). The Savannah trolley even pulled into the koa one morning. I've been to a few KOAs, and assure you this is the best laundry of all KOA campgrounds. In my limited experience Dayton and Moab are close, but here we had affordable, updated laundry space here with laundromat driers and trolleys. The best pool? No, but close! It was a pleasant space with good depths and plenty of furniture, and was a shame to leave. Don't forget your swimsuit. The bathhouses are updated, cute, and clean. The staff were friendly in the park and in store. This koa had everything we needed. We'd happily come back.

My husband and I made a reservation well in advance and checked into this RV park today. We have…read morebeen camping around multiple parts of Florida for the last month and we also went on a cruise out of Port Canaveral. I would classify us as seasoned RV'ers and we are now on our way back to our home in Charlotte, NC. Our reservation here is for 4 days. Upon arrival, the host showed us to our site. We are parked directly in front of something called serenity hall - so during the conversation I casually said is that where the bath house is? I was then told that they do not have shower facilities available; nor are the bathrooms working currently. He said they used to have shower facilities available but shut everything down after Covid because people were stealing the toilet paper??? I explained to him that we absolutely must have a bathhouse with a shower and toilet facilities. He told me to call the office. I did so and spoke to a lady who I found out was his wife. I explained our predicament and asked if we could void our reservation and move to another park nearby that offered full services. This woman was as rude as she could possibly be. She went on and on about the fact that their website does not say that they have a bath house. I told her in all the years we've been RVing I have never had a full service RV park that has full hookups not have a bathhouse available. It is standard with a full hook up in a RV park. She continued to argue with me and I ultimately told her that I wanted to leave and would like a refund. She flat out refused saying that it was my fault for not looking more closely at their website. She even went on to say that lots of reviews they have also complain about the fact that they have no bathhouse. They would not give us a refund, even though the park is clearly 3/4 empty. This has been by far one of the WORST experiences in dealing with an RV Park I have ever had. Most RV parks I have visited go out of their way to be friendly and offer a good experience. Not so here. After hanging up the phone I went and looked more closely at their website - and in BIG BOLD letters they state no EV charging available - but not once do they say NO BATH HOUSE available! Absolutely ridiculous!! We will NOT be back and I would highly encourage others to stay away too. Just FYI - There is another RV park located close-by called Lake Harmony RV Park. Not only do they offer the exact same amenities as this place - they have a full bath house AND lower prices!! Call them at 912-832-4338. I will be using them in the future. The people running McIntosh Lake RV Park should be ashamed of themselves!! It's very obvious to me they take advantage of their customers - and it is all about getting their money; not about the customer having a good experience.

Our pull‑through site had full hookups (30 & 50 amp service) and plenty of room to maneuver, making setup easy and stress‑free. Each site is beautifully lined on both sides with magnolia bushes and trees, providing a surprising amount of privacy and a peaceful, park‑like feel. We also appreciated that each site has a separate spigot for washing your rig or vehicle, which is a thoughtful and convenient feature. One of the biggest advantages for us was the easy access to I‑95. We used this campground as a two‑night stopping point to break up our drive from Myrtle Beach to Miami, and the location was perfect--quick on and off the highway without the noise you might expect. The amenities here truly stand out. There are multiple bath houses and laundromats, all clean and convenient, plus a well‑stocked store with RV supplies and LP gas. The entire resort is handicap accessible, which is clearly reflected in the layout and facilities. There's no shortage of things to do--fishing on the lake, relaxing by the swimming pool, or enjoying shuffleboard, horseshoes, and the game room. The pavilion fire rings, dock, and conference center add even more versatility. What really sets this place apart is the staff. Everyone was friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. When we had an issue, they quickly referred us to a local mobile RV repair technician, who was wonderful and took great care of us. This campground is excellent as an overnight or travel stop, but it's so well‑kept, quiet, and amenity‑rich that we would absolutely recommend it for a longer stay as well. We would happily return.

Honestly, you might want to avoid it at all times due to the relentless noise. Between the train tracks running right through the property at all hours, heavy traffic buzzing from nearby roads, and military planes and helicopters rattling the sky all day from your neighboring military airbase, peace and quiet simply do not exist here. Another reviewer suggested using earplugs, but trust me: nothing is going to save your sanity when a full-blown freight train blares its horn at 3 a.m. every morning! We booked way in advance online for a week-long plus stay, only to be placed in a spot with absolutely zero shade. When we asked to move, the head staff, Leslie's favorite catchphrase was "just call us next time." Good to know & thanks so much for this lovely help, Leslie! To cool down, you can always hike an eighth of a mile to their very nice pool. Just be prepared for the "gravel gauntlet" (similar to your site, by the way)--navigating loose rocks in flip-flops while carrying pool gear in the heat isn't much fun. Ultimately, we've stayed in cheaper, friendlier, and much more accommodating places. Unless you really love the blazing sun, constant noise and unhelpful office manager, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
