I have always been able to find a good parking spot in the parking lot. The mall is safe and clean. The mall is located along the busy McKnight Road for easy access.

It was enclosed a number of years ago and did okay as a mall until the mid-1980s. When Ross Park Mall opened up, it sucked all the business away from North Hills Village and Northway. Northway became a second-tier mall and North Hills Village became a big box center. North Hills Village now has Best Buy, Target, Staples, etc. From a dollars and cents point of view, it was probably a wise decision to go big box. But North Hills Village is just like any other big box center found from Seattle to Miami.

This strip mall is along a high-traffic road in a fairly well-to-do area, so it is easy to get to and does not seem to have much crime. I occasionally shop at Village Square Mall. Most recently, I shopped in several of its retail stores. I felt happy with the availability of parking spaces in the free lot and with the selection and prices of merchandise in the stores. My favorite stores here are the Kohl's and the Fine Wine & Good Spirits. I think that this strip mall is for people who either live in the area or who are passing through while visiting other businesses nearby.

I visit McCandless Crossing mostly for the Cinemark and the Longhorn Steakhouse. The entire shopping center is safe and clean, and it has lots of sidewalks and parking spaces. Many residential townhouses are located *right next to* the parking lot, which my husband thinks is funny, but apparently people enjoy living there.

The mall is located along a busy road, but the area seems to have a low crime rate and is clean. McKnight Road has several other shopping centers. This strip mall is not the best mall, because it has few stores and does not sell many clothes, but it is good for people who live in the area or who happen to be traveling close by.

It is always a mad house and a dash to find parking spaces. And you feel like you are putting your life at risk if you try to cross the parking lot on foot. It has gotten a little better since the opened the space between McDonalds and the plaza (easier access to the traffic signals to get to 22). But it is hard to get into and out of, especially if you need to make a left.

There are several businesses that are in a "loop" in that there are blockages to getting onto the main "road" of the plaza. But, overall, the parking lots are well maintained and well marked. The one down side is that because it is so large, it can be hard to navigate. If you are looking for a specific business, GPS might take you to the vicinity and not the actual business.

They also usually have at least 1-3 food trucks outside too. We also like going to the stores there too. There are so many nice places to buy discount clothes. Paris Baguette is my favorite place there. They have the best pastries. We love the monthly special, chocolate croissants, mochi donuts and sandwiches. The cakes are so moist and delicious. It does not contain as many businesses as some other town centers do, but it still has some great restaurants as well as a nail salon, healthcare providers, a gym, apartments, a hotel, and offices.
