Very dissatisfied with the desk service. I tried to arrange an appointment for my son and daughter, and I mentioned that my son's Central Incisor Teeth are in a little amount of pain, and she immediately started pushing for an Xray. Consider this: the doctor did not even examine my son, and now she is telling me that he needs an X-ray or the doctor may reject to see him. I've been coming here for a few years just for my routine cleanings, never had cavities or major work. At my last visit, I was charged $48 for X-rays I didn't even know weren't fully covered always have been in the past. I don't know all the different types of X-rays they offer -- I just came in for my cleaning. The issue isn't the $48, it's the lack of transparency. No pre-treatment estimate, no discussion, just a surprise bill. Patients deserve honesty and the chance to make informed decisions. Just make sure you ask for a pre-treatment estimate before getting any work done at this office. read more

I would recommend south shore smiles to parents for their children and adults. I initially went for my 8 year old son to have his teeth filled and the Dr. was great, she was patient with him, she made him feel comfortable. We just switched from another dentist after mine stopped taking insurance. I am pretty picky about dentists and was really pleasantly surprised. I combed through a lot of reviews on different pediatric dentists and South Shore Smiles seemed to have the most positive feedback. The office is very modern and up to date. The biggest win was that they have TVs on the ceiling for the kids, haha! My 6 yo was thrilled! The staff was so friendly and made my kids comfortable. My kids are never excited to go to the dentist and they had all kinds of great techniques to get them to sit in the chair and get everything done that they needed to. They had a bunch of treasure box toys for them at the end and cool Toy Story tooth brushes. We had a great experience. Also, I should add that we were there the (maybe) second day after they re-opened during this whole COVID19 situation and they were on top of all the safety precautions, temperature checks, lots of PPE, requiring masks for parents, etc. I actually might switch my dentist to them too since they see adults too! read more

Our "go to" place for all of our dental work. They are professional as one would expect, but as importantly, they are compassionate and efficient. My first call was to assist with a very painful tooth. They got me in that day and started the process. The pre-visit online forms where easy to complete. I'm actually extremely disappointed today. I thought that I found the perfect Dentist especially because it's close to my house but the interaction that I had today literally rub me the very wrong way. Long story short, I was a few minutes late for my appointment but WAS in the 15 minute grace window when I arrived. However, I was greeted by Karen, I mean Kristen who was extremely RUDE about it. She then told me since I was SO ate that she did not know if me or an my husband could get our teeth cleaned and that she would ask the hygienist and let me know. I looked at my phones time and I wasn't SO late. I was literally IN the grace window. She left for a long while, but when she came back, she didn't say anything to me. So I went back up to the desk to ask her, what did the hygiene to say? She stated well I told you that I would ask them and let you know. So my reply was OK, when you left did you ask, and if so, what did they say? She then replied with a snarky tone, "if they have time they'll see you." I asked her if she was OK because there was literally NO reason for her to be as rude and condescending as she was. She then rolled her eyes and turned her head. I have not ever seen such unprofessionalism in an environment where you NEED to be professional. I did not get my teeth cleaned nor did I get communication about getting my cleaning nor did anybody ask me if I wanted to reschedule. She was all around unprofessional and extremely rude to the point where I'm not sure if I even want to come back now. Kristen needs professional development. read more

Today was our first time going here to see Dr. Dunlop. She was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We love her! And, her staff is amazing also! Every single person was happy, friendly and so very kind. I would highly recommend this office and Dr. Dunlop. I saw her husband, who is also a dentist, walk by and he was also very kind and happy. We have found our new dentists for sure! I was referred to Dr. Dunlop, the pediatric dentist, by my dentist after I was constantly disappointed by my daughter's dental office; they were just very impersonal at every visit and didn't fully explain to me why my daughter needed her tooth extracted when an abscess showed up. I decided to get a second opinion and Dr. Dunlop and all the staff were very accommodating to our concerns and I left feeling much more knowledgeable and at ease with the extraction! The staff is very friendly and her dentist is amazing and very flexible to what parents decide for their child. I only wish I could've taken her to south shore smiles much sooner since we're moving away in several weeks. read more

hands down the best dentist i have ever been to. so informative and honest which is hard to find now a days. i had a tooth bothering me for some time and they got me in almost immediately and then did 2 fillings i had while i was there to get a tooth pulled, i told him i wouldn't like to be numb for the fillings and he went slow and took his time and i didn't even feel a thing! when they numbed me i didn't feel like my face was numb or puffy at all, and it's not my whole mouth isn't numb just the one spot he pulled. definelty reccomend! read more

We had work done, they reviewed our insurance and said it would work. They charged the deductible, which we paid. Then a couple weeks after, I get an alert from chase that $300.00 was taken out. THEN I get an email from them saying that the insurance didn't cover the extraction and we were being charged, and she charged our card. I understand that, but why didn't they send an email a day or two before letting us know and giving us the courtesy to get the funds together? Then, they did it again 3 weeks later!!! $80.00 withdrawn from my account, THEN an email from them. It's unacceptable. read more
