I experienced a problem with my thermostat in my home a (no power to the unit), after having done the DIY troubleshooting (Breaker and GFI check) I was at my wits end. I did what I always do and checked YELP for reputable electricians in my area. I called and left a message with SV Electric. James called me back and after explaining my issue he suggested I contact an HVAC company since my issue related to air and heating, However prior to terminating the conversation he added that it sounded like a fuse issue since the thermostat ran on low voltage, he suggested I check that prior to having someone come out, for safety he added that I should cut the power prior to replacing the fuse if it was blown. Sure enough that was the issue and I resolved it in 15 minutes. This type of service is a throwback to eons ago when the customer came first and people took the time to help a customer even if they got no financial benefit from the transaction. Polo gave a competitive quote; worked thru several complications and design iterations, incorporating both some incremental upgrades I requested such as an additional conduit line for future low-voltage needs, and working within the tight physical constraints and limited upgrade options of the existing panel, exploring a few alternatives with both PG&E and the original equipment manufacturer to get to a solution that worked for the property, the utility, and the city. Once we finalized the details, Polo & his team took care of the work very quickly and professionally. There were no surprises during the job; and he provided tight quality control on his team, redoing a few things that almost certainly would have passed inspection but which were not to his liking. And - as someone who has done more than my share of electrical projects in the past - its very clear that he takes pride in his work: he used flex conduit only in a few very small areas, doing very clean EMT conduit bends just about everywhere else. Well, that was on a Saturday, and I was pretty scared that we had a potentially dangerous situation, so I called a few electrical companies. Power Pros answered their phone that Saturday morning. They came out that day. Thane looked in our attic and found that lots of the wiring, including the wiring in our family room was improperly done and dangerous.
