Polo at Lumisol was a pleasure to work with. The project Polo bid for me was to install three L2 car chargers in the garage of a multi-family building, which - beyond the just the chargers - required upgrading the service to the garage from 20a to 100a, running perhaps 60' of roof-run conduit; 60' of trenching; lots of 2" conduit; two new 200a panels; and tying it all together to the existing 400a service at the front of the building and the existing "common area" panel in the middle of the property. Polo gave a competitive quote; worked thru several complications and design iterations, incorporating both some incremental upgrades I requested such as an additional conduit line for future low-voltage needs, and working within the tight physical constraints and limited upgrade options of the existing panel, exploring a few alternatives with both PG&E and the original equipment manufacturer to get to a solution that worked for the property, the utility, and the city. Once we finalized the details, Polo & his team took care of the work very quickly and professionally. There were no surprises during the job; and he provided tight quality control on his team, redoing a few things that almost certainly would have passed inspection but which were not to his liking. And - as someone who has done more than my share of electrical projects in the past - its very clear that he takes pride in his work: he used flex conduit only in a few very small areas, doing very clean EMT conduit bends just about everywhere else. The only thing was that Polo is mainly based in the Peninsula, so it was hard to get an appointment with him bc I live in the East Bay. I found Polo through my neighbor who had him come in for a consultation on a wall charger installation. I stopped him as he was leaving and asked if he can give me a quote for our install. He happily took time to look at the work for our house. Polo from Lumisol did the installation for our Tesla charging needs. He installed a Nema 14-50 outlet on a 40 amp breaker on our house and on my sister's house nearby. He also did the wall charger installation for my neighbor all on the same day. The installation was done quickly and cleanly. He used a 6 gauge wire for wiring. He mentioned that he worked for Tesla previously and his experience showed with the installation. Requested installation of a level 2 ChargePoint Home Flex hardwired charger and whole house surge protector. LumiSOL collected all the necessary information and perfectly handled the complex and lengthy permit application process in my city. All this was done online via photos and emails. Once the permit had been obtained Polo came out and did a very nice install and included a GFCI breaker rated to ensure I can use the full capacity of the charger to get the fastest possible charge speed with current and future vehicles. After the install was done we scheduled the inspection. A week later Polo came back and waited for the inspection which passed first time with no changes required. Lumisol recently installed an outside EV charger for my home and I couldn't have asked for better service. I have a 40 year old main electrical panel that needed to be reworked to handle the new service. Polo figured out how to do this, thus avoiding the great expense of a new service panel. He answered all my questions about how this would work, as I had some concerns. The work involved running the new cabling from the outside main panel back through a wall with conduit running about 50 ft under the house through a small crawl space to the spot the Wallbox charger was installed.
