I happened to be hanging out in the village one morning and was in the mood for a bagel and cream cheese. I had never been to South Cable Café before so I thought I would check it out. South cable café is in Hotel Terra (accessed access from outside). When I walked in I was immediately assaulted by the overwhelming noxious odor of cheese. I totally get that people like cheese but it overpowers eggs and bacon/fresh baked goods, it does not make me want to buy anything. The service was just all right. I somewhat felt ignored. Spend your money elsewhere for coffee. Breakfast burrito was great, but the coffee was ridiculously watered down. I ordered an iced cold brew vanilla coffee with an extra shot of espresso, had no coffee flavor whatsoever. I ended up pouring it down the drain & getting my complimentary coffee from the hostel I was staying at. The coffee there was a lot better. read more

The majority of locals don't really like Caldera House pompousness and when Southcable opened it was nice to once again get a slice of pizza and beer by the Tram . . . while it's nowhere near what the VC was, the pizza was really good and the beer prices somewhat acceptable; that was like 3 years ago and now the place has zero ambience. Now it's horrible, pizza and wraps are borderline disgusting, workers are insouciant and over charge you, and they AUTOGRAT 18% for just being alive and standing there to ring you up. This is the only place in the world that I've been to where unsweetened Silk soy milk is used to make latte. I am a soy addict, and I travel a lot! 7-8 bucks for a large soy latte is.. well not cheap. But what can you say at JH's base village? The cafe opens at 7am in the morning. Grab and go breakfast sandwich was $12 - which MAYBE should be $8 at most. It was after all just sitting in a warmer. The real kicker was the automatic 18% gratuity that was added. For doing nothing more than pulling two sandwiches out of a warmer. When you pay, they still ask for a tip. It wasn't until after the transaction was complete that I saw the sign about the 18%. Either put the disclosure in the payment software or disable tipping. read more

Serving tasty brewed coffee as well as expresso drinks, this is a great spot to jump start your Teton Village day. They serve brkfst burritos and egg sandos, as well as good pastries from Jackson. Armed with a liquor license too, you can get your shot of Jameson or a beer apres whatever you're doing. Both baristas were very rude to us when we asked polite questions, and very clearly more interested in talking to each other than making our drinks. I ended up being charged for a coffee that wasn't even made with the stuff I asked for :( I can understand making a mistake with a complex order, but we literally ordered three basic drinks. This was the best fast cafe when we ate a quick lunch at jackson hole. You can even eat for under $10, more a rarity at JH as it goes upscale. Only tried the pizza and it was delicious. I was starving like Marvin after a day on the hill and this place crushed my hunger in the best way. After 3 you can get a slice of Za (cheese or pepperoni) and a 22 of your choice (rolling rock, PBR, or Coors) for $6!!! Ya $6! If you don't want the beer I'll take it... or you can just get the slice for $4.50=cheese $5=pepperoni. Looks like they do some coffee and espresso here too but I was just looking to fill my belly. Teton Village needed this place badly. For those of you who come here often, this is a coffee shop in the new building. Go around back, and you will see the all glass encased shop. The shop gets packed but don't let that deter you from getting in line. They are normally pretty quick and it is hands down the best coffee around. Not only does this place have great coffee and teas, but they serve some foods/ lights snacks, in addition to having some healthy premade salads in the refrigerator. I love this place because I don't drink coffee but they have great tea options. With the options comes many options for milks so if you are dairy free they offer soy and almond. This was our favorite morning and afternoon spot. read more

They also seen to be environmentally aware with their packaging, are dog friendly and offer free water. Go here for a simple pleasant experience without overpaying. Pretty average, but it's quick and easy. Not a fan of the burritos, but their pizza and coffee aren't bad.

The biscuit and muffins although huge, are nothing special. The brownie cookie is about 6 inches in size and good if you like chocolate chips in your cookies. read more

They had croissant breakfast sandwiches ready to go, which was convenient. They were hot and fresh, and surprisingly delicious with high-quality thick cut bacon. We had just missed the breakfast hours at the majority of the other sit down restaurants, so we were very relieved to find this place not only open, but very tasty. The price was right, too. We wanted a quick and inexpensive breakfast in Jackson Hole, and Southcable was perfect. It was reasonably priced and yet filling and delicious. Lots of options on the menu for both food and drink. The place itself is small but super cute. There's plenty of outdoor seating available. I got the everything croissant and my husband got a sausage breakfast burrito. The portions were huge! Just wasn't good. The breakfast burrito was extremely greasy and the egg and cheese croissant was so bad I ate one bite and tossed it. The eggs were over cooked to the point of being crispy and the croissant was so dry it would have made for good croutons. Hope this was just one of your bad days. read more
