It has taken me months to gather the strength to write this review because every time I think about what happened, I feel like I lost a piece of my soul. On May 4, 2024, I took my beloved French Bulldog to SEVN due to some concerning neurological symptoms--unbalanced movements and eye drooping. I trusted this facility to help him, but my experience was nothing short of devastating. From the moment I stepped inside, the first response was to medicate him without thorough testing. He was given Tramadol and Diazepam right away, and I was told, "Let's watch and see how he does." This response felt inadequate, but I trusted them. The next day, his condition worsened dramatically, and I returned to SEVN. This time, they recommended a long list of expensive tests, including an MRI, a spinal tap, x-rays, and additional medications. The first bill was $462, the second bill was $5,249. After all of that, the response was still vague: "We don't see anything major, maybe a slight disc issue." I grew increasingly concerned. Coming from a medical family, I consulted with my mother, who immediately suspected a neurological brain issue, not a disc problem. This was when I started questioning their approach. Over the weekend, I called SEVN to speak to a senior doctor, but I was only allowed to speak to a resident vet. When I asked for Dr. Michael Wong or Dr. Simon Kornberg, I was told they weren't available. At this point, I felt I wasn't receiving the level of care and expertise I expected. By May 10, I was back again. Two more hours of waiting. Another spinal tap. Another MRI. More medications. Another bill of $4,127. This time, they diagnosed Meningitis, which, according to them, is common in French Bulldogs. I couldn't believe it took this long and this much money to reach a diagnosis that could have been considered earlier. The Cytosar injections began on May 14, followed by more on May 22, June 6, and June 13. Instead of seeing improvement, my dog continued to decline. The steroids caused extreme weight loss, and by June 25, he was back in the hospital, having seizures and unable to stand. I was devastated. Another hospitalization, another bill--$1,448--but no real improvement. By June 28, another violent seizure. I rushed him back, waited two hours, and watched as they administered even more medications. The bill was $2,464. Despite all the medications and hospitalizations, my dog was at his final breaking point. He couldn't control his bowels, couldn't move, and was in unbearable pain. At this stage, the treatments felt more like a process of drugging rather than true medical intervention. On June 30, 2024, I had to make the hardest decision of my life. I held my boy in my arms as he took his last breath. SEVN was a place I went to for help, but I left feeling that I had placed my trust in the wrong hands. I strongly believe that if the correct tests were done earlier, with the right treatment approach, he could have had a better quality of life for much longer. I later reached out to some of the top veterinary neurology specialists in the country, and they confirmed that some veterinary hospitals, including SEVN, tend to rely heavily on drug-based treatment rather than exploring other approaches. In my experience, this was true. The communication at this hospital was frustrating, and I often found myself waiting for hours without getting clear answers. Getting an appointment with an experienced doctor was nearly impossible, yet the invoices were always ready immediately. Final Thoughts: AVOID THIS PLACE Based on my experience, I would NEVER recommend SEVN. The lack of urgency, over-reliance on medication, and the difficulty in accessing experienced specialists made what was already a heartbreaking situation even worse. If you LOVE your pet, I strongly urge you to seek care ELSEWHERE. RIP my sweet boy. You deserved better.

My peaceful dog after Dr. Wong figured out our issue and fixed it quickly! Highly recommend!

Amazing staff and amazing service! Dr. Wong is the best. He figured out the issue quickly and made my baby girl happy again. Thank you for everything. Highly recommend!

My maltese Bailey was given an appointment the same day i called and they also scheduled him for an MRI with Dr. Morocco. She was really kind and spent enough time to go over all our options for mri to surgery and then recovery. Virginia at the front desk was super sweet along with Jennifer. Romon was Baileys nurse at the time of discharged and he was extremely kind as well he took enough time to go over everything and answer all my questions. Indo the nurse was super sweet and attentive and very loving towards Bailey. Ashley was really nice as well. I would like to thank you all for taking such good care of my pup! Thank you Dr Morocco for taking such good care of Bailey!!

So happy with this vet center. I'm so appreciative of how they took care of my dog and myself. :)

This office was amazing my little dog never made it there due to his deflacte condition but they still took calls everyday from us and the vets at the Veterinary Hospital. The Dr gave his advice on treatment etc. It shows they care about saving our pets not just money. My Misha never made it there. Had he made it I feel the outcome may have been better. I just opened a beautiful Sympathy card from them. Hand written and they enclosed another small card saying they'd made a donation to a veterinary hospital in Mishas name. I have no words. I have no way to express my gratitude. They proved but to be amazing, dedicated and willing to help my pet that wasn't even their patient Even after he passed they thought to do such a loving act of compassion.

Alora: Super sweet CH kitty that I'm fostering for Saving Sage Animal Rescue
    Janet C.

Absolutely outstanding! From the patient scheduler/coordinator Sydney, to the friendly reception area staff and extremely thorough and kind Dr. Alyssa Flores, EVERYONE was wonderful! So caring, knowledgeable and nice. Alora is a kitten I'm fostering for Saving Sage Animal Rescue who has all the signs of CH. So she's walks in an uncoordinated prancing fashion and her head wobbles a bit when she eats or grooms another kitten -- but she is the most affectionate, sweet kitty ever and will make a wonderful pet for an adopter. Not only did the staff treat her and me with kindness and patience, but they offered to do a phone consultation with the vet who will be spaying her when she's ready, since there are specific anesthesia protocols that are safer for animals with brain issues. And they gave advice on removing potential dangers in the environment so she avoids injury. I HIGHLY recommend Southeast Veterinary Neurology; it was well worth the drive to get thereS!!!

After MRI and Spinal testing she was paralyzed

Please don't fall victimize to this place and do more research regarding towards it. They will push the agenda of a MRI and certain testing to possible raise they profit margin. But if there's a clear understanding on what is needed for you pet as in Medication go with that that first choice. My beautiful dog walked in there harmless with a lil bit of showing of vestibular, As soon we walked in they claimed it was a disease called " Mue" and they needed to do MRI testing to see what's going on. Now they gave me weird feeling saying the anesthesia can possibly kill my dog but they never informed me about the after side effects that can occur. I had to put my puppy asleep when she came back paralyzed after a MRI testing and now I found out they claimed they did a spinal testing that I DIDN'T APPROVE TO DO OR GET CHARGED FOR ! The only thing they stressed about was receive payment. Since there only neurologist within the 100 mile radius. Put me in a monopoly situation to receive service from them. PLEASE DONT SPEND YOUR MONEY AND ALWAYS ASK FOR SECOND OPINION REGARDING TO YOUR PET !

So my cat has been having his back legs buckle and he falls over, very frightening to watch. 3 vets recommended this neurology center in miami. They are emergency so open 24/7. Dr. Nick DePompa saw us along with nurse Yessenia and they were wonderful. Laid out options and prices, approved me for credit and they did an mri. He has a ruptured disc in his back and he laid out course of action to try hopefully to avoid surgery. I loved this place and the staff. Prior to coming here I called them too many times and they were just wonderful. I cannot say enough about them

I have a miniature zoo of animals and my regular vet is not conveniently located so I thought I'd try them since they have such positive reviews. I was even thinking maybe I can switch vets if I like them but the immediate dismissal without even asking how serious the cat's injuries are was highly disappointing. Even if they did not have a vet available to see my cat, the least they could do was act like they care. I did not get the sense that animal well-being is on the top of their priority list so I will stick with my regular vet for regular care and Knowles for true emergencies since both of those have staff that actually seem to care about the animals. If you are thinking about making your pet a new patient at Sunset Animal Clinic, make sure you have an appointment because otherwise they could not care less.

ZERO STARS FOR CARE. FIVE STARS FOR NEGLIGENCE…read more My cat Saki has been a patient of Sunset Animal Clinic since October 2019. This review is regarding recent negligent lack of care of my cat Saki by Dr. Alyssa Gasset during two separate recent visits. I will preface by stating my cat Saki is a ferrel rescue cat and does require light sedation to be treated as she is temperamental when she is fearful or in pain. November 25, 2025/Tuesday Saki was seen Dr. Gasset for an inured left leg. I gave consent to sedate her in order to facilitate a thorough examination and x-rays and I thought labs would be performed. I was informed that Saki had been throughly examined and that there were no visible signs of broken bones or tears. Diagnosis was a "muscular" shoulder injury and Saki was injected with an anti-inflammatory. NO labs were performed to screen for infection or as routine baseline of health. Two day later, Saki was unable to walk without falling over, stopped eating and barely used the litter box. She confined herself to her bed and was clearly not well and in pain. I called Sunset Animal Clinic, front desk was helpful and encouraged me to bring Saki in following Monday morning. December 1, 2025/Monday I had previously confirmed my 11 am follow up appointment with Dr. Gasset twice, Saki's wellbeing was visibly demising daily. Her breathing was heavy, her heart was racing, she was not eating. Eighteen minutes prior to my appointment, as I am putting Saki and her carrier in my car, I receive a call from one of the front desk staff at Sunset Animal Clinic. As per Dr. Gasset's instructions, front desk staff was persuading me NOT to bring Saki in for her follow up. Front desk suggested I stay home with Saki and continue to monitor her as her health spiraled downward. I insisted that I was not going to cancel my appointment and would come in as scheduled. Abhorrent exhibit of compassion by Dr. Gasset. Saki was seen by Dr. Gasset who immediately commented on the noticeable leg swelling yet made no effort to examine why Saki was getting worse each day. I asked her to please sedate Saki and check her visibly swollen leg. She displayed not regard for her wellbeing and did not suggest routine blood work to rule out illness or infections. What Dr. Gasset did offer was a flippant idea to inject Saki with an arthritic drug. Recent scans show Saki does not have arthritis. I kept insisting on other options since she was in so much pain. Dr. Gasset's response was " We are limited when it comes to cats". After my constant insistence, she suggested injecting with an antibiotic in case Sake had a stomach ailment which was preventing her from eating. Dr. Gasset displayed zero regard for my cats health. She intentionally chose to not suggest blood labs and rule out any infection, chronic issues. She refused to sedate Saki when I kindly asked her to do so in order to assess the additional swelling. Saki was left zipped up in her carrier without a physical exam of her swollen leg. I was sent home with pretty much a "good luck let's watch her" sentiment. Upon our arrival home, Saki was lethargic and not well. Four hours later I walked into a room full of blood. Saki bled out all over her bed, sheets, floor due to a burst abscess. An abscess that formed as a result of negligent care and improper diagnosis from Sunset Animal Clinic's Dr. Gasset during not one but two visits with her. Saki was rushed to Town & Country Animal Clinic, total saving grace. Thank you Dr. Jennifer Seco for not allowing us to leave without compassionately diagnosing the cause of Saki's diminished health. Dr. Seco ran labs and carefully examined Saki's swollen leg. She found Saki had an infected bite wound which had caused a painful abscess. Dr. Seco cleaned her wound and did not release Saki until she was stable. I am happy to report that Saki is on the mend thanks to Dr. Seco. Dr. Alyssa Gasset lack of treatment prolonged Saki's breeding infection and suffering. Look elsewhere for care.

You think that you are empowered by writing this in a public forum, but it is not going to get you anywhere. We are a reputable clinic with a reputable staff which care about animals and we care about our work we take a lot of pride in it But things go wrong and it's not always our fault you admitted that the other dog was playing and sutures break they're not indestructible. We had this discussion you left Happy. The wound was sutured closed in an appropriate manner that you feel that you were mistreated. We would've been happy to help if you would've come in with a nice attitude and we would've done our best to make sure the situation was dealt with. Instead, you and your mother felt That you should scream and you feel that if you scream the loudest it will get heard. Unfortunately, you ended up spending more money at another place which did nothing more than what we did initially. I wish you could see life a little bit with a happier lens instead of a bitter lens, thinking everyone is out to get you. Buddha is a very nice dog and I wish him the best. This is my response....the wound was never closed and i have the pictures to prove it. you sent the animal home with a gaping open wound, no collar and no antibiotics. lets just wait for the lawsuit to settle and see what objective observers think. it is you who needs to be ashamed...you are butchers not vets! I was running about 20 minutes late due to heavy Brickell traffic, so I called ahead to let them know in case they needed to reschedule me. The front desk told me to still come in and assured me they would be able to see us. When I arrived, I specifically asked about the wait time because I knew I was late, and I was told it should not be long since the doctor only had one appointment ahead of us. While waiting, I was informed that my cat's CareClub plan had been canceled and I needed to pay $110 to reactivate it, which I did immediately. Shortly after, a technician brought us into a treatment room and asked about the reason for the visit. He was very kind and professional. Unfortunately, after that we were left waiting in the treatment room for nearly 2 hours with absolutely no communication or updates from anyone. Nobody checked in on us or explained the delay. At that point, I decided to leave. I walked right past the front desk where four employees were standing, and nobody stopped me, asked if everything was okay, or even acknowledged that I was leaving after waiting that long. It honestly felt like nobody even noticed. I completely understand that emergencies and delays happen at veterinary clinics, but the lack of communication, organization, and consideration during this visit was extremely frustrating.
