Had to come in this past weekend and go to the ER! Actually went twice to get my follow up…read morebloodwork done. I had Dr. Smith and he was absolutely wonderful with my case. My nurse Erica made me feel so much better since the ER wouldn't let my husband come back due to not knowing anyone to watch our kids. She got my IV I'm on her first try because my veins are stubborn and blow easily. Theo was my tech and he got my IV on the first time, but as soon as they went to get my blood it blew as always. Erica was so gentle and through with my care and explaining everything to me. When I went the second time to get my follow up bloodwork I have nurse Kevin who did my blood and got it the first time and luckily he got my blood before it blew. (My left arm clearly doesn't like needles) I have a couple of different nurses and people who took care of me and checked on me Brian, Kaitlyn and I think Kelsi. They were all so nice and helpful through this experience. Overall Doctor Smith and Nurse Erica were my favorite and everyone was so nice and helpful. My experience due to what was happening wasn't easy so I thank you to the nurse and Dr. Smith who had to talk to me before I was discharged Saturday and Monday.

No stars! My 83 year old mom was sent to the Cape Fear Valley Medical Center by Village Green…read moreRehabilitation Center (a whole sad excuse of a medical facility in itself) at 7:00 a.m. The doctor ordered blood work and other tests. The ER decided to admit her at 2:55 p.m. for further observation. We were told they were preparing a bed for her. At 6:32 p.m. I received a message that her room was ready. I am typing this review at 8:02 p.m. I asked for the second time about what the holdup was for getting her to her room that was ready 2.5 hours ago. I was told again that they are waiting for transport to take her to her room. This creates a bigger issue, a patient with an assigned room is still lying in an ER room 2.5 hours later. This is a contributing factor why sick people set in the ER waiting room for hours before they are even seen by an ER doctor. In my opinion, this is a very inefficient system and needs to be revamped!
