Southeastern Salvage has been an amazing resource for bargains as we're settling into our new home. Lighting, rugs, and furniture are generally sold at competitive prices. Be sure to read labels carefully, as some items are not eligible for returns. We were able to buy our flooring through Southeastern Salvage and have it installed professionally, paying a fraction of what the cost would be to have the technicians purchase the product. Associates in the flooring department were helpful in advising during the shopping process. Note that the main attraction at this business is the bargain pricing, not the service. Attitude and product knowledge are hit or miss among staff. Come with an open mind, prepare to pick around and take a few risks, and you're sure to find something interesting. read more

Southeastern Salvage is actually a pretty good furniture store, despite it looking like a discount clearing house inside. They get a lot of items from overstocked stores and close outs. Because Nashville is a home to four colleges, I usually recommend to my college friends, that they check out Southeastern Salvage before going anywhere else (only if they are in the market for new furniture, if they need cheap used furniture, I tell them to go elsewhere). Southeastern Salvage always advertises their super low prices in the paper, but don't be fooled, this place has some high quality stuff. I have seen nice leather couches for under $500. They usually have a lot of outdoor/ patio style furniture too. Of course they also have some really stupid stuff like ugly plates and stuff for kids rooms, too. read more

My wife and I love coming here. We visit probably once a month. They have certain things every time we go, but they also have new items all of the time. The most recent time (today), it looked like they had bought out a target warehouse. They had women's swimming suit bottoms and tops, as well as other apparel for $5/piece at 4 or less and if you bought 5 or more it was $4/piece. They have lots of cabinets and wood flooring, as well has stone sinks (at time of review $88 for river stone sinks!), kitchen sinks, and numerous other home improvement and remodeling items. They sell furniture, rugs (TONS of different styles and prices starting at less than $100), ceiling lights and mirrors. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because it is kinda dirty (I feel the need to wash my hands when I leave), some of the prices could be better (some seem unbeatable though), and the staff could be a little more friendly. This place is like a dream come true when remodeling or redecorating. Were told about it a few weeks ago and have already made multiple trips and have a few more planned. Some days you find what you want, some days there's nothing. They pretty consistently have a great selection of rugs, some choice yard statues, and tile. Anything else seems to vary when you're there. People looking for consistency, this ain't it. Good lighting? Not it either. Good deals and things you never thought you needed? Yup. It's the kind of place you can find things you never knew existed, and in staring you might find yourself now standing in front of a forklift attempting to move a large copper basin or something from point a to z. If you see something you want, probably ought to get it, it might not ever be back. read more

This was a fun thrift shop that had a lot of furniture options to choose from. They have a wide variety of bathroom vanities and miscallenous furniture but I was looking for a dresser and they only had one that wouldn't work for me. Not sure how often they move stuff around but seems like a good place to go find a good deal at. read more

For a dump its a really nice place. Southeastern Salvage its never going to win any beauty contest, and it's not trying to. Instead it is (mostly) what it says it is, a store that buys out salvage goods and sells them. There are windows and doors and flooring. There's sinks and rugs and tile. But there's also a lot of shipments from Bali and China and other random places, but somehow they fit in. I'm not sure why anyone would want a teak elephant had chair, but they have 30 of them. And they fit in nicely with the bamboo butcher block counter tops for sale right next to them. While I wouldn't necessarily recommend going here if you were looking for something very specific, if you were just looking for home goods or remodeling "stuff", there aren't a lot of places that offer quite as interesting a selection. read more

Have been here many times and it is a hodgepodge place where you may get some deals on import style stuff. Tonight however, they dropped a star. The radio playing throughout the store was talking about strippers/sex/condoms. So glad we did not have our elementary age kids with us. read more

VERY MISLEADING!! Their selection is very poor! Their website is very misleading. They DONT have many choices in cabinet furniture or tables. Their website makes it look like they have hundreds to choose from in reclaimed or vintage-looking furniture. When we got there they had almost nothing and said to us it is hit or miss. THE PRICES ARE WAY TOO HIGH! The same type of furniture online is hundreds cheaper! It's a real craphole in there and they should be priced as salvage or second-hand discount products not Restoration Hardware prices! This place SUCKS go elsewhere for furniture. read more

Really used to like this place and the Cincinnati location. Our recent trip was very disappointing. Prices have skyrocketed from what they were in Spring-selection was terrible. We drove here for some advertised flooring being sold by the pallet- not to be found. Listen, I am a pretty open-minded and chill person. Let's note that first. I do however, find it absolutely absurd the way I was treated yesterday. It was a Tuesday morning, shortly after SES opened, I chose this time so that I knew it wouldn't be busy. I called ahead to explain I was trying to exchange two large pots I had purchased there for another color. I explained that I had my Immune Compromised 1.5 yr old with me, who can't mask or go in stores. I asked if they could have the pots brought to brought to the front for me, they were heavy so I wouldn't have been able to get them myself anyway. I was trying to avoid bringing him inside ( the register is very close to the door)-- most places do curbside these days for those in need. When I very kindly said this to the girl on the phone, her actually answer was " Ummmmm, NO." Literally nothing more. I said " listen im not looking to be difficult or for special treatment and she said " yeah, we can't do that." SO, my 1.5 year old IC child and I stood outside their front door IN THE RAIN, while they essentially did what I was asking. Brought the pots to the front for me, I ran in with my receipt, they did the entire transaction while I held my baby in the rain rather than doing this VERY SIMPLE task beforehand. These are crazy times, when someone says they need help ( and the help is very very easy)... why would you not do it? I was really disappointed in their lack of listening, and unfriendly customer service. read more

Southeastern is great if you are looking for quality tile that is better priced than Lowe's or Home Depot. We have always been able to find flooring there that was in style and under budget. I was disappointed when it came to their cabinets. They have recently started selling cabinetry that you can order "custom". I went into the store 3 times to try to find someone to help me with this. The main guy was on vacation for several weeks with no one to back him up. They lost a high dollar sale that day. I will return for more purchases, but don't waste your time on the cabinets. read more

The last view times I have been to Southeast salvage the quality of furniture has been cheap modular style furniture. In the past they were carrying beautiful leather chesterfield style couches. I bought a gorgeous black leather chesterfield couch and was in the market for another leather couch to go into my family room. Just disappointing with the selection they have today. I hope they will read this review and start carrying those beautiful leather couches again. Couches they have now are cheap looking low quality couches. read more

This place is amazing! A cross between home goods and Home Depot, it has all of your needs for fixing up or flipping a house, and tons of home decor options, including rugs, doormat, pillows, furniture, you name it! The prices are amazingly reasonable, and one of my favorite hidden gems in the store is a little monogram shop! You can pick up any items inside, including scarves, velvet pillowcases, napkins, and handbags, and monogram them for five dollars a letter! They have tons of choices of beautiful fonts and thread colors, and you really can't go wrong for gifts in there! The only thing is, keep in mind that in certain respects you get what you pay for! I was so excited to have paid $17 each for a few velvet pillowcases with custom monogramming. I bought nice fluffy insert pillows also from Southeastern salvage, and made sure that the inserts were the right sizes to fit inside of the cases. But being that the pillowcases were so cheap, as soon as I tried to close the zipper, it broke. I am going to have to simply sew the zipper closed by hand, and Call it a day. Super fun place to come and shop, and look for some hidden gems. read more

I'm always amazed at the smorgasbord of items you can find here. Mostly I'm impressed with the amount of money you can save. I bought ledger stone to add a decorative wall in my office at a large popular home improvement store recently and just before I picked up my order I ended up doing some shopping in Southeastern Salvage and noticed the had ledger stone in stock for 1/2 the price of the stone I had already bought. I was cautious knowing their building materials are "seconds" but took the leap anyway. It was installed last week and it is beautiful. I've never had any issues with the "seconds" I've purchased here. Love the stuff...love the prices...love the people that work here. A definite win-win. read more

If you are even considering remodeling then this is the place to check out. They have everything from discounted flooring, doors, & cabinets to rugs & hideous furniture (see john g.'s pictures) . Okay they may have some decent furniture but I would recommend this place more for their remodeling supplies. If you do go be prepared to spend hours in an un-air conditioned and un-heated warehouse. aka dress appropriately. read more

You may have to dig a little to find a gem but when you do - oh, boy! This is great if you are a first time home owner, have a rental property or bought an investment property to flip. I wanted to find treasures and based on previous reviews I was sure I would finally find a cool planter for our front door! Alas no. I saw good prices for ceramic lanterns, mirrors and giant giraffes. Furniture for your home is nice but if I am dropping $$$ I want a better return policy. 3 days for rugs is not long enough for me. This place is for regulars who like to find that diamond in the rough and visit often. So I am not in love maybe better luck next time. read more

I love a quick fix here, all sorts of bits and pieces from candles to kitchen cabinets, sinks, garden furniture, wooden "indonesian" type pieces that are a fortune elsewhere rugs, lighting and run of the mill stuff I don't need items such as baskets, napkins and candles. This place is great if you are renovating your house or just looking for inexpensive misc home furnishings. For instance, last summer I got a 4 x 6 area rug for $32! About a month later I found a similarly designed rug at Crate and Barrel on sale for nearly $200. Definitely was worth the $32 I paid, and has held up really well. Go here if you have some time to kill and really look around for the gems in the piles of random junk. They also have a variety of tiles, granite, and hardwood floors at very reasonable prices. As before mentioned, there is no AC, so wear a tank in the summer and bring some water! read more

On one of my first solo trips without my new baby, I was looking forward to an enjoyable time shopping. I had been eager to visit this store for a while. But one of the employees made me feel so unwelcome, I was shocked. I won't be back. If you've ever been, you know it's not exactly "neat" in there or inventory clearly laid out. I found a rug in a stack in the middle of the store that looked perfectly viable to me, but was confronted by a sizeable young man who didn't like that I'd found it. "They are covered up for a reason," he said. When I pointed out that they weren't covered and that's how I found them, he just stared. "They're not for sale yet, we have to process them," he tells me. Ok, I say, that's fine. Could you process this one early? "No." "OK that's fine," I say, trying to figure out what's going on. So I ask "Do you have any idea when they might be available? I'd really like to buy it." "I don't know," he says with irritation, gesticulating. "I have 1300 rugs to put out," and he pulls a cover over them and stares until I walk away. I was so embarrassed and flustered it took me walking half the store to calm down, but I did and decided to just enjoy looking at everything else. I was careful to not enter any areas that looked like they contained unavailable items, but didn't think I saw any... It's really hard there! So I and another man were walking down the end isle (which was accessible by every other isle, none of which were blocked off in any way) looking at some boxes of things strewn about when the same employee comes huffing toward me from the front if the store and says just, "this is our backstock." What? I ask, confused. "It's NOT for sale!" he barks. I looked around in disbelief. There was NO way I could have known this. The other man catches my eye obviously feeling bad for me and says, "I think he was talking to me, too." I say to the employee, "well you need a rope up because this is very confusing!" at which point he pulls a bungee from the end of an isle and clips it closed and walks away. I was so angry. I should have left but some light fixtures caught my eye and I went to look at them briefly. Next thing I know that employee is strolling by, "watching" me pointedly. I was like what the heck?? I left. I won't be back. As l left, I saw him at the middle desk area leaning on the counter chatting with his coworker, neither of them putting out those 1300 rugs that were gonna keep them so busy. That's where he was the first time I saw him when I entered the store, too. And where he went after he covered the rugs. It seems he only made any effort the whole time to harass me. I know that sounds like I'm being bitter, but honestly, that is how it looked and felt. I've never had an experience like that before. Still, I'd question my own bias if that other man and his wife hadn't reacted equally chagrined by the employee's behavior. It was downright rude and unbecoming for a store that is so nonchalant in its layout and appearance to reprimand customers for not reading the invisible signs. read more

Best place to shop for inexpensive tile for any project. Huge selection of tiles and prices that can't be beat. I've been using them for almost three years now and won't ever go anywhere else. Also a fun selection of HomeGoods, carpets, lighting and furniture. read more
