A fun fall date! Southern Belle Farm, located in McDonough, provides hours of wholesome fun and free parking. My wife and I arrived on a warm October day to enjoy the pumpkin patch and U-pick flowers. We arrived in the afternoon, but there was plenty of selection and nothing was "picked over." I paid $16 for a quart sized plastic vase for my U-pick flowers. They sell gallon sized buckets as well. Scissors and water are provided. Be mindful of bees in the field. They won't trouble you if you don't trouble them. There is an area in the back for you to arrange the flowers; I took full advantage of this because this trip doubled as a photo shoot. There were all types of people enjoying the farm; IG girls, families, even one couple using a wagon full of pumpkins as a baby announcement. Pumpkins range from $5-$20 each depending on size and breed. A nice young man named Luke helped us corral our pumpkins and carry them to our car. I didn't know they offered that service, but we tipped well. If you run up an appetite, they have a snack bar with fritters, ice cream, and lemonade. I'll be back next fall! read more

We were here Memorial Day weekend at a time that was rainy/overcast. As a result, there were far fewer people which made the experience more enjoyable. Parking was calm and plentiful and we weren't bumping into other strawberry pickers left and right. It costs about $20 for a large bucket (which you get to keep) and you pay $1 per person to access the fields. We feared we may have missed peak season but there were still plenty of ripe strawberries to choose from. It is also well organized with the staff directing where folks should go. After we picked our buckets worth, we grabbed a huge fresh lemonade from a parked truck, did some shopping in the cute store, and got a strawberry ice cream. I have to admit this was a bit of a disappointment especially based on all of the rave reviews. To us it tasted like it was pre-packaged and came from the freezer. The strawberries were frozen/rock solid and while they were plentiful it would have been great if they were softer or appeared as though it was fresh churned. A fun activity for all! This is such a well organized and wholesome place to go with your friends, lover, family or solo. I went here at 10am on a Saturday, right when they opened, to pick peaches, blackberries and blueberries for the summer. Arrive at least 15 minutes before opening to join the line and make sure you can pick fruit before it runs out. I paid about $35 for a gallon bucket to pick all that I could fit in it and I crammed a lot. Some people seem to pack a ton as well in the clear parcel bags they sell as well. It is super hot and humid out there over the summer so you are free to pack your own water, plus wear sunscreen and a hat to ensure your comfort out there. But they do sell ice cold water for about $2 if you do need it....and you will. They also sell buckets for you to pick fresh flowers as well - and they provide scissors. Be mindful to dodge the bounty of bees out there. They won't trouble you if you don't trouble them. read more

Everything I said on my previous review and just add you can pick flowers!! So I returned to Southern Belle Farm to pick strawberries but it was too late. I decided to pick flowers instead and it was an awesome experience! They provide you with a tall plastic container and a pair of scissors to cut and place your flowers in and once you're done you can water your flowers for the ride home. The sunflowers are my favorite! To pick flowers was $16 dollars and beware of bees... look for beautiful butterflies. It's always organized and everyone is always so friendly. Went to this Beautiful place today to attend the 22nd Annual Taste of Henry and funds will be donated to A Friend's House organization in Henry County to assist Foster Care Children. I purchased my ticket online ($40) . There was 40 different restaurants on the property from Henry county. All the foods I sampled were delicious, the volunteers were very friendly and provided phenomenal service to us when we checked in. I really enjoyed myself, this was my first time attending and plan on going back next year with some Family members, hopefully it won't be too hot and the weather permits! Plenty of on the grass parking for free, I plan on going back to the farm to explore strawberry picking and other events they will have! Will most definitely be back to Taste of Henry next year! This place was amazing, with activities for both kids and adults! They had parking for yards. With the weather being hot and it being a farm, there were various types of bugs out. So while I had the intention of going peach picking, I avoided it for the sake of not getting bitten. Luckily for people like me, there were already harvested peaches inside their market, where there was also lots of other goodies, including various jams/jellies, fresh peach ice cream, peach ciders, and much more! I purchased a small carton of peaches, which contained six. I brought them back with me to SF, and gave them to my loved ones. They were juicy and delicious! Also purchased some peach butter, peach jam, peach jelly, and jalapeño peach jelly :) Definitely worth the trip out. read more

Very enjoyable experience. We went to pick peaches and blueberries back in June. The weather was perfect for u-picking and the farm was beautiful and extremely large. There were a lot of June Flame peaches that were big, ripe, and ready for picking. Blueberries were also very big and sweet. There were lots of families there for the u-pick experience. The country market was very nice and air-conditioned. They had a wide variety of jams, salsa, cider, baked goods, ice creams, and snacks. I got a peach cider and peach jam. The food service was also great. I got a peach cobbler with ice cream. I did however find a hair on the bottom of my cobbler. They had seating outside for you enjoy the food. Finally got here for strawberry U-pick season and it was so much fun! I've never picked strawberries before I grabbed the pint for about $8 and went picking, it was cool to see the strawberries in all types of forms, saw split strawberries, the green ones that weren't ripe yet and the fresh red ripe ones. These are the most sweet and juicy strawberries I've ever had. For those who like photo ops this is a great place to take some photos. Everyone was very friendly and helpful who works there. They had one of the best if not the best strawberry shortcake I've ever had and their strawberry lemonade is a must try during strawberry season! The store inside has fresh kettle corn, ice cream, just everything you can think of in a true farmers market. read more

Southern Bell Farms is one of the places that I frequent all year round in the summertime. They have fresh homemade peach and strawberry ice cream two of my favorites. In the fall, they have apple cider donuts, which are a huge staple in my home. In the winter, we get to come and purchase some loaf and get our Santa pictures which they offer. And the spring time you are able to come pick flowers and fresh strawberries, which are the beginning of summer. This place is definitely a place for families or even if you wanna come on a date. The service is always incredible and every year they expanded and add more and more things that you can do and activities for sure. When Karen (yes, the Karen) and I rolled up for peach picking, I was ready to go full "Can I speak to the manager?" because the front of the orchard looked picked over. Not a decent peach in sight. But before I could put on my "mom voice," the sweetest employee swooped in like a Southern peach angel, popped us on her golf cart, and chauffeured us to the back orchard where the peaches were absolute perfection. We found peaches so gorgeous they could model for a Georgia billboard. After our VIP peach hunt, our driver zipped us back like we were celebrities. Love that for us. Of course, I had to sample the goods. My peach slushy? Delectable. Karen got the peach ice cream and gave it a 10/10 (and she doesn't hand out 10s lightly). I went for the very first time back in October with friends and family, and had an amazing time! There was so much to do, ample seating, excellent customer service, and no long waits for the bathrooms, food, or attractions offered. I really loved how reasonable the prices were for everything! We absolutely LOVE Southern Belle Farm! It's a family favorite for us and we go at least twice a year--usually for berry-picking season (spring) and for pumpkin season (autumn). Most recently, we were there for the pumpkin patch and fall festivities. I'm always impressed by how they continue to add attractions and sections and upgrade existing ones. You'd almost need a full day out there to do everything that's an option so we only do a subset of what's available. This time we did bubble making, the toddler jump area, the wooden "gymnastics playground" (as my little ones call it), the short corn maze, the burlap sack slide, the see saw, and the toddler tricycles. Whew--that sounds like a lot but there's so much we didn't do! This is probably the first time we skipped seeing any animals, but it was still a great experience for all. We go for snacks rather than meals while out there. I love the roasted corn and my husband loves the lemonade. We tried the popcorn for the first time--it's like a salty/sweet mix, like regular mixed with kettle, and it tastes fire-roasted kind of like the corn. In the spring, our family likes to try the treats they sell with the fresh berries, like strawberry shortcake. Main takeaway: this is worth the price. The price has gone up but so have the options and the experience. Plus, parking is free. My husband remarked this last time that it's probably the best value experience in the metro area in terms of what you get for the amount you pay. Most family attraction places try to milk your pockets at every turn, especially parking...but not Southern Belle! Top tips: (1) of going to the fall, go online and get your tickets early. You have to choose an entry hour and Saturdays sell out. (2) it's a farm and your footwear will get dusty/dirty; choose accordingly (3) there are several opportunities to take some of your favorite photos of yourself and your group; bring a camera or charge up your phone! read more

I came here in June for peach picking season with some friends! Despite the heat, it was such a fun time!! There's plenty of parking in their lots. They had plenty of bag sizes to choose from as well as lots of different kinds of fruits in addition to peaches. I ended up choosing a half peck of peaches (about $17) and some of my friends got the mixed berry baskets that let you pick strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. The farm staff was super helpful with telling us what peaches were in season and what to look for in a ripe fruit! Afterwards, we hung out in the covered areas and got some strawberry cake & ice cream and homemade peach ice cream. Everything was so refreshing and delicious!! April is sweet and perfect for strawberry picking! This was my first time visiting a farm to pick strawberries, and we drove about an hour to get there. The place is great for families, especially with kids, because there are fun farm-themed activities nearby where children can play and enjoy the outdoors. Here are a few friendly tips: 1. Arrive early - You'll have a better chance of picking bigger strawberries and avoiding the harsh midday sun. I went on a Sunday, but the farm didn't open until 1 PM, so there was a long line and it got pretty hot. Many farms are closed on Sundays, so it's a good idea to call ahead and confirm their hours. 2. If you're bringing kids, apply sunscreen - It's easy to get sunburned, especially in the afternoon. 3. Take your time picking - It's worth it to look around and choose carefully. Since it was the weekend, there were a lot of people and a bit of a wait. I chose a 2-gallon bucket and headed further into the fields, where there were still plenty of ripe, untouched strawberries. Because it was quite sunny around noon, we picked quickly and didn't stay out too long. After picking, you absolutely have to try the farm's seasonal ice cream and strawberry shortcake--they're worth the wait in line! Love love love this farm. Saw it on tiktok and decided to take my dad here while he was in town. We did the fruit picking and the flowers. We were able to pick muscadines and fresh flowers. There is also a market where you can purchase produce, meat, ice cream and jams. We purchased some of the items from the market. We also got slushies and desserts. I ordered the homemade pound cake with ice cream and peaches. My dad ordered the peach cobbler and ice cream. Omg it was seriously sooo good. There is also animals on site that you can feed. 10/10 experience. I went here for their strawberry picking. Since they had rainfall recently, they were on discount for 10.99$ a gallon bucket for picking. At first, I thought it would be hard to find any quality strawberries. However, I was easily able to fill my bucket even after arriving at 2pm. I saw lots of kiddos. This was a really great family outing. We went first right at opening on a Saturday and it was already crowded. But not so much that it wasn't enjoyable. There was plenty of space to move around and more than enough fruit for everyone. We also enjoyed the country store that had fresh desserts made from the seasonal fruit, as well as fresh veggies and canned items. This place is amazing. Worth the drive. The staff were wonderful. It was a HOT day so be sure to bring water with you and shade (umbrella). We opted for you pick peaches. They are one of the earliest crops so expect a walk back to harvest them. So if you are a baby like myself.. either wait to later/closer varieties are ready to harvest oooor just pick up the pre picked ones in the store. They were also harvesting blueberrriss and blackberries.. I skipped those figuring I would be dead in the heat. Fruit is so fresh and delicious. Don't know what yo do over the weekend? Have family from out of town visiting? This ia great place! I always seen their add on Social Media but never went until a couple of weeks ago. The staff were nice, friendly and welcoming. The establishment was very well kept which makes you feel like you are a farmer. "I may or may not have sung Old McDonald had a farm" The strawberry ice cream is out of this world! Not only you can have strawberry ice cream but you can add the pound cake with strawberries aka strawberry shortcake . The ice cream is not very sweet and you don't need water. The pound cake... let's just say that you will leave with a few extra pounds. They also have local steak with no RBTS. That's what you call "farm to the table" We were not able to go pock the strawberries because of the rain but if it not raining it would be open. They have a small farm with goats , donkeys , rabbits , chickens , etc. the ambiance is very nice, open and lots of fun with lots of activities. Your kids will be tired for sure! read more

Took my kids there and we had a blast. Easy to find and tons of parking space. Parking is free. You will get dirty so be mindful of that in the clothes you wear. I'd definitely recommend hats or visors, sunglasses and sunscreen. We went at 12. Even though the website said to purchase your tickets online there was a counter there to purchase tickets too. I did the online ticket purchasing and received an email with a qr code. It was scanned and wrist bands provided. You're able to come and go after that. The wristband has a qr code that shows a map of the place. There's so much to do. We ended up spending 3.5 hrs there and there was still things that we didn't do. There's a tractor ride that shows you the farm - strawberry field, peaches, muscadines. Sunflower area to pick flowers. Pumpkin patch and wheelbarrows to help you get your pumpkins to your car. Food trucks were there (I don't know if they vary) but when we went it was a - pizza, hotdog/hamburger, bbq ones. The farm has several restaurants too. A sweet shop for delicious ice cream, donuts and other creations and lemonade. The lemonade was delicious ($4). Bottles of water ($2). I did see some bathrooms. As far as activities we saw - mine sifting station - you pay for your sand and then sift for treasures. Hook and ring game. Sports area - shoot basketball, football, baseball, bowling. Skeeball stations. Tractor bike race. Sack slide - tall and short slides. Jumping place with several areas for kids to jump (socks needed). Corn maze- one short and one long. Seesaw. There was a place to shoot out corn and a broomstick at targets - it had 4 stations. A water pump race station. Pig races. Plus more activities that I didn't see. The workers were friendly. Just a nice time overall. Great photo opportunities. I'd highly recommend this place. read more

I went strawberry picking with a friend in Southern Belle Farm earlier this summer. The field is huge, and we had an incredible time. The strawberries and blackberries were juicy and filled with so much flavor; honestly, the best I've ever had! I also tried a couple of their desserts. The Strawberry Shortcake was amazing! The Only Review You Need To Read It was a bit of a drive to this place, but it was well worth it. Lots of things to do for kids and plenty of goodies in the market. The highlight was getting to pick your own fruit right off the tree; for us since we were visiting from out of state, our objective was getting out hands on some Georgia peaches. And pick we did; our bag was overflowing with peaches, so much so we kept dropping them out of our bag. On the way out, we stopped off for some ice cream and a peach cobbler along with getting a couple of pictures in the oversized chair. Lots of friendly people, good food and a really fun operation. I would highly recommend this place for those from out-of-town like us (you can expect to be there for a couple of hours - especially if you want to pick blueberries) or longer if the kids want to check out the other sections. read more

This place says wow on the entrance. We spent so much time doing so many things. We drove up and noticed that it is really a farm. We walked inside of the store first and looked at the items available inside. They had specialized jam, Salad dressing, cider, homemade ice cream and much more. We went outside and walked to the area where you can pick flowers and fruit. They do charge hand pick fruit and flowers. Muscadines were available. Sometimes you can pick peaches or small pumpkins. We picked muscadines, green and red. Green has another name. We also picked flowers from the flower field. Next we has the homemade slushees with for me peach cobbler w/ice cream. Shopped next for jams, salad dressing, homemade peach ice cream. Got some of their candies too. We spent time with the chickens, various goats, and cows. It was hottttttttt, but we left with tons of strawberries. We did the u-pick and you have to walk to the fields (as opposed to being driven there like some other places). The concession stand took ages, but the strawberry shortcake was worth the wait. It was delicious. There were a lot of covered tables, though most were taken as the place was packed. The inside store had a ton to purchase, too. You can grab fresh fruit even if you don't want to do the u-pick. We ate in the car to escape the heat and were on our way. Friend was screamed at in front of other customers by the heavily armed security guards. Even if she wanted to steal peaches it would've been like, what, 3 or 5 peaches she could stuff into her bag? Is it really worth humiliating your paying customers that way and ruining their peach picking experience? So sad since we'd be patronizing this farm last 4 years and always enjoyed the older gentleman who would greet us. Perhaps a better way to minimize "peach theft"?! could be to put up signage near the entrance or something explaining the policy, you know? Instead of having guards scream at people to submit to a bag check. It's humiliating and can be scary for younger people/children. My friends also pointed out the guards (who themselves were black) seemed to be extra bold about doing this to Asian/Indian women and suspected our friend was being racially targeted :( read more

Perfect for the entire family all ages! This was my 2nd visit and it's always a treat. It's strawberry season so everything "strawberry " in full effect . It was extremely busy and I'd like to contribute that to beautiful weather and everyone loves the fresh strawberry ice cream and freshly picked or you pick strawberries. Lines were long but moving rather quickly. I bought 2 gallons of strawberries, cup of ice cream, straw hat and muscadine cider. Another customer suggested muscadine and peach cider as his favorite. If I like the muscadine I'll purchase again and try the peach. The ice cream was oh so good! Big chunks of strawberries throughout . A big difference from "store bought" . Sunday May 2, 2021 We have to thank the blogger, "Belle of the Beltine," for this tip. Coming here was a lot of family fun. This was my first time visiting a strawberry farm during picking season that I can recall. Nicole had been in her youth a half dozen times. The farm opened to visitors at 1pm and we arrived an hour later around 2ish, when lawn parking was already substantially full and the line to pick strawberries was bending around one of the gates. We decided not to wait in line and went to the area of where the Silos were where $12/pp tickets get you into activities: petting zoo, trampolines, games, human-powered go-carts, the Cow Train, the burlap bag slide and a bunch more. After fun in the zone we took a break for snacks: strawberry ice-cream, and strawberry short cake! Really satisfied our sweet tooth. After nearly two hours of everything in the family fun zone, we went back to see how the lines were, expecting to buy the strawberries in the store, but instead picked up our bucket and walked to the fields to pick strawberries right off the vines. Filling one bucket took about 30 minutes, and it wasn't easy work either. During this time i was feeling around the plants individually and looking for those nice ruby colored strawberries which were hiding under the green leaves. This was a new form of exploration for me. Since all of the activities were held outside the COVID precautions were less severe. The mask mandate was just recently lifted by Governor Kemp for individuals who have been vaccinated and are outside. However, I kept a mask with me while waiting in the Cow Train line, or whenever close encounters occurred, despite being vaccinated.
