The dentist was for condescending and over talked me or cut me off when I was speaking. For starters, my child's appointment has been canceled twice due to 'staffing shortage' and then I'm contacted on the date of the original appointment and offered the same appointment that was cancelled the day before. My child has a few medical conditions that are on file as they are not new and when I arrived to her appointment today, going over medical history with the hygienist, I was told that my child would need medical clearance before my child's teeth could be cleaned. Had I known that was needed BEFORE today's appointment, that would have been provided. The dentist proceeds to enter the room to explain that since my child has a heart condition, she needs clearance from her heart doctor before anything can be done. I asked why medical clearance was needed before a cleaning and I explained that this has never been told to me and should've been mentioned prior to the visit today. I was able to provide a clinician note from my child's medical chart that states that no medical clearance is needed for dental procedures and the hygienist was able to clean her teeth. The dentist enters back into the room to do a check and proceeds to tell my 6 year old what work needs to be done and asks me if I wanted to know as if I wasn't the person who she needed to be speaking to. The dentist mentions that my child has an overbite and I let her know that my child does suck her fingers and she says 'I meant to ask about that' and then proceeds to tell me that I shouldn't talk about it negatively even though I said nothing negative about it. We were given a treatment plan for the work needed and a referral for ortho for a device to help with finger sucking. When I went to check out, I asked the receptionist if the referral list providers worked with 6 year olds and she replied 'I'm not sure, you would have to call and ask them' because I have been provided with referrals from this office before to other offices that do not work with kids. I'm not sure what is going on with Dobys Bridge but my child will not be returning!

I do!…read more Fountains Family Dentistry was recommended to me by a co-worker after a bad experience at a very popular dentist office in Charlotte where I was told I needed many fillings replaced ASAP or I would be "sure to have a root canal" in the next 6 months. Concerned, I went to FFD and was reassured although my fillings were old, they were not in any condition to be worried about and they suggested I get them replaced at my leisure, over the next 4 or so years. Together, we worked out a plan to turn my silvers into whites when it made sense for me. I really respect the fact that I'm not told I have a new problem with each visit in order to make a few bucks. In fact, its been quite the opposite and I've never felt better about my teeth. I did have a crown put on to replace a filling that was improperly done by another dentist and I was able to sit in the office while the crown was made right there on site! In and out in one day! Bonus: all the chairs have TVs to watch while you're getting worked on! Extra Bonus: The hygentists do NOT take out the stress of the world on your gums like I've experienced in the past!
