So this was part of my drink tonight before a show at DMR. FAVORITE flower they got. 14yo gotta be goth core?! Lol

Okay my previous review of 4 was because my kids aren't a fan... and to be fair they are not trying for that age group so I get it. I took my dad here today and he confirmed all my warm fuzzies I felt over the good food. This IS what my dad made for me in Elementary school. Now that I'm on they heavly weighted 40's and my father's in the mid 80'sssss we both appreciate how it makes us feel young for no other reason but for my memories of my dads cooking as the youngest of 4 in a Navy house. Best part is now we can just someone who can capture my youth with a silly artichoke...

My partner and I had a great experience here. I ordered the catfish sticks and fried okra, my partner ordered the fried shrimp and a side of Cajun fries. While cornbread breading isn't my favorite, the food itself was so fresh I didn't mind. Coming from Florida, I am very picky about my seafood and this was amazing and fresh seafood. The service was okay, and the environment was nice and relaxing.

This was an awesome find here in Charlottesville! Everything from the ambiance to the service to the drinks to the food was amazing! We had originally made a reservation for inside but the woman at the bar let us know we could choose a seat outside and I'm glad we did. The weather was perfect and the lights outside as well as we sat at one of the fire tables made it so nice. Also the music playing and sitting in a garden really made me feel like I had been transported back to New Orleans which is one of my favorite cities for food and the overall vibe! Food wise we ordered quite a few dishes and had leftovers but we were excited to try all the good New Orleans inspired foods and it did not disappoint! Stars of the food: Jambalaya Red beans & Rice Gumbo House salad Hush puppies Chips-good but should have skipped these to have more room for the other goodies. Would not order again- the beignets. Not light and fluffy. Drinks- The mocktail was absolutely delicious and my husband loved his zombie drink and hurricane. Service-everyone was so friendly from the bartenders to the gentleman who lit our fire as well as the food runners. Highly recommend this place for a taste and feel of New Orleans in VA!

Super adorable outdoor and indoor bar in the area. Friendly servers, inventive cocktails and a good looking menu. We only came for drinks, but we'd definitely return to try the food. They have a lot of covered outdoor seating, which is really nice in the summer. They also have fans on the deck - which I love!

Ate dinner when in the area. Lots of outside seating in a cute atmosphere . Menu limited if you don't eat seafood but you can find something Everything we got was tasty and this is a chill place to hang out.

Came here with my dad, a New Orleans native. We both LOVED the food- especially the conch fritters and po'boys. The vieux Carre was a favorite of mine, perfectly flavored and the right amount of strength. This was one of the better po'boys I've had north of South Carolina, and I made myself save half so I could enjoy it the next day. Service was slightly slow and there's not tons of seating or parking, so go on the early side of dinner hours if you want to make sure you can get seated

Came here on a date. The cocktails we tried were so good! Cajun fries were also very yummy and definitely recommend. Blackened Shrimp and Jambalaya were good but I felt overpriced for what you get. Would love to come back and grab drinks with friends!

Came here on a whim with my friend on a Wednesday night, and it was very chill and very cute inside. Felt like we were in New Orleans!! There was a QR code at the table to view the menu, and we ordered at the bar. Food came out promptly. We started with the fried green tomatoes to share (5/5, soooo yummy). Then I had the fried oyster po'boy (4/5, pretty good but wish the bread was more toasted). Lastly, we ended with a sweet treat: beignets (5/5, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! THEY WERE GINORMOUS AND YUMMY!!)

Isa and Lucinda were AMAZING! Every meal and drink were delicious and the team and atmosphere were incredible. *****

Took my best friend here to celebrate their graduation! Really really cute aesthetic. Okay tasting food and slowww service - even just the dessert took almost 30 minutes Ordered the conch fritters to start. There were 5 in total which I thought was kind of a small amount, the fritters were mainly batter not much "seafood". 2.5/5 stars I got the Catfish Po Boy because the fried oysters were sold out and it was a pretty tasty! 4.5/5 stars My best friend got the gator-andouille sausage po boy. There was WAYYYY too much creole mustard and the flavor was overwhelming. They ended up eating just the filling because the bread was covered in mustard. 1/5 stars Finished off the night with two beignets! They were COVERED in mounds of powdered sugar. Had to shake off all the excess and the beignet itself was super super small. They were also overcooked :( 1/5 stars In general, probably would get drinks with friends here, but probably not dinner again.

Delicious and authentic New Orleans food! Service was so nice and we had a great meal. I had the gumbo and fried okra and enjoyed both. The ambiance was chill on a Sunday night, def want to return ASAP

Does this restaurant have table service? And do they have reservations?

No. Not in the usual sense. Diners pull up the menu using the QR code--there is one for the drink menu and another for food. Then you go to the bar, tell them what you want to drink and eat and someone brings it to you or a random assortment of…

We had 5:30pm reservations and were seated immediately. The host was warm, acknowledged the occasion, and honored my request for a quieter table by placing us in a bay-window nook. Unfortunately, that's where the positives ended. The space echoed so badly we could barely hear each other, and the setting sun combined with the AC being accidentally turned off made the area feel like a sauna. Our water glasses were filled within minutes, so we thought service would be smooth. Instead, we sat for another 15 minutes before anyone greeted us--while a table seated after us was helped promptly and served at a noticeably faster pace. I understand large parties require attention (there was a group of 10-12 nearby), but as a former server myself, I've never allowed smaller tables to feel forgotten. When our server, Lucian (sp?), finally arrived, we immediately placed drink and appetizer orders because we were already starving. The appetizers came out about 20 minutes later--still before our drinks. The brussels sprouts were excellent and worth the wait. The biscuit basket was good, though the butter-to-biscuit ratio felt off, and the apple butter was surprisingly delicious. Our entrées didn't arrive until at least 45 minutes after that. The pacing was simply poor, and we consistently felt like an afterthought. While our server was polite, he didn't initiate conversation, offer suggestions, mention happy hour, or acknowledge our daughter's birthday. He didn't even suggest dessert. Meanwhile, the six-top behind us--seated well after we were--was wrapping up their meal as ours was just being served. The food presentation was beautiful. The pot roast, however, was underwhelming. It lacked seasoning and sauce, and the vegetables were forgettable--very few potatoes, no carrots. "Not your normal pot roast" was accurate, but not in a good way. The shrimp and grits were excellent, with great seasoning and a flavorful sauce. The salmon was moist and well-prepared, though it still had a few scales on the end of the filet. Once we finished eating, we again waited for our server to return. We eventually had to wave him down for boxes and again to request the check. Parking in the back was convenient early in the evening, though I imagine it becomes difficult later. Would we return? Unfortunately, probably not. We've been treated better, served more efficiently, and appreciated more fully at other restaurants--including one almost directly across the street. What we hoped would be a memorable celebration ended up feeling ho-hum at a high price--too high for the experience we received.

We began with very well crafted cocktails and I had the most delightful mocktail, an Unlit Gimlet; so bright and fresh and the pink peppercorn garnish was the perfect counter to the sweet. Food from beginning to end was fabulous. Servings sizes were filling and just right and not overly huge. So enjoyed our pastas from the Bolognese, the Carbonara, the Raucci, and the Primaverili (a perfect bite of spring green). Of the four, our table's favorite was the capellini gamberi Raucci but I wouldn't hesitate to order any of our selections. Sides of roasted fennel with oranges (the best fennel I've had) and the cauliflower were beautifully done. Appetizers enjoyed were the Roman artichokes, bread and olive oil, and olives. We ended the evening with the chèvre cheesecake, affogato and espressos. Service was professional, yet friendly and very welcoming. Thank you for an unforgettable evening!

The biggest issue I found here was despite our server being very nice while ordering she NEVER checked in on us after anything arrived, never refilled waters either. So although she was nice the service was not good as there were times we wanted to order something else and one of the entrees didn't arrive as it was ordered but our server never checked in. All things considered I think I would only come here to grab a salad or appetizer.
