With just a little more seasoning or spice, the pork tips would have been top-tier. The mac and cheese wasn't my favorite. It appeared to have eggs in it, and the black pepper flavor was a bit stronger than I prefer. I think a touch of cayenne would have given it a better kick. The black-eyed peas were good, although I personally think white beans would have paired better with the meal. The sweet tea was excellent, and the service was one of the highlights. The person at the counter was friendly, respectful, and welcoming, and my food came out quickly. The atmosphere was exactly what you'd expect from a local mom-and-pop lunch spot; simple, relaxed, and perfect for a quick bite. Overall, Green's is a solid place to grab lunch if you're already in the area. I'll stop by again when I'm in town, but it's probably not a place I'd take a special exit off the highway just to visit.
