I ordered cookies and cream and appreciated that they make everything homemade and allow you to select any ice cream flavor for your shake. However, the outcome literally tasted like milk. I did not taste cookies, cream, or any of the richness I expected. The texture and flavor were both overwhelmingly milky, which was disappointing. I literally thought I'd been poisoned. After looking up ice cream spots with good reviews, my daughter and I found Emmy's. It was not a disappointment at all. The ice cream flavors were limited but very premium. Although they don't make their own ice cream in-house, they get it from the best place I can think of ordering ice cream from - Wisconsin. They have a ton of really premium toppings for a great price too. Most are just $.50, with some of the nut toppings costing a dollar. My daughter tried their orange sorbet with gummy bears and the swear, they were the best gummy bears I've ever tried. I went straight for my go-to, pistachio almond. When I tell you it's stood up to some of the best Italian creamery pistachio I've had in my home town of New Orleans, I'm not exaggerating. Creamy, rich ice cream with an abundance of pistachio. All I needed was one scoop. So amazing and flavorful. Being skeptical after my last botched experience getting a waffle cone at a major franchise dessert spot, I decided to get my ice cream in their signature waffle cone. Oh. My. Goodness. It's like a confection by itself. Delicately buttery, perfectly sweet and super crispy. I hear they even make waffle cone nachos?! Aside from having great dessert, the staff is friendly and they have a nice little sitting area, complete with a soda-shop type bar to sit. It's not a question of if I'll be back, but if I'll be able to pass it up when I'm in the vicinity. Delicious!

For a small stuffed snowball with a little condensed milk on top, it came out to nearly $5, which feels a bit steep for New Iberia. If the prices were a little lower, I'd probably stop by much more often when I'm in town. That said, the quality is excellent, and it's still one of my favorite places to grab a snowball. Definitely worth a visit if you're craving a sweet treat.

They do have a drive through and service is always fast and the staff is always nice. It's more rustic looking and has a nice outdoor seating area that's covered with fans. Highly recommend if you're passing through!!!
