This was my second time trying Southern Jerks. The standout is their customer service. They were so friendly and patient. The line was long but moved fast. I ordered the family pack with wings, a large side of collards and rice. Also got a whole wing special with fries. The food was still piping hot when I got home about 20 mins later. Everything was cooked fresh so there will be a wait. I waited about 20 mins. Prices were high because it's chicken but we enjoyed it.

Listen, when I say this chicken is DELICIOUS... believe me! The food is cooked fresh, made to order. The flavor is so amazing. We drive from College station and it was worth every second of the drive and every penny. We will be back. We tried various chicken spots in the area- still haven't found anything to compare. I'm not saying there isn't another chicken place out there that's just as good, but I haven't found one yet. At least not in Houston or College Station. The service was not bad, considering we waited for them to make the food fresh. The ambiance isn't anything special since they are located inside of a convenience store. Don't expect to sit and dine, as this is more of an order and go place. But I definitely recommend. 10 out of 10!! Believe the reviews.

The Wings are Delicious they didn't make it out of the parking lot and the Customer Service was good as well.

Chicken was seasoned perfectly. The Asian jerk sauce was my fav out of the three. The service and humor provided by the staff was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere in the establishment was chill & systematic. Probably gone slide again for the wings before I leave town.

My coworkers decided to order from Southern Jerk for lunch, and I'd been wanting to try this chicken spot for a while--so I went for it! I ordered the 5-piece with a side of macaroni. The chicken came as drumettes, which I really liked, and it was packed with flavor--perfectly seasoned just the way I like it. The macaroni was simple but really tasty and comforting. I also got to try some of my coworker's collard greens, and wow... they were absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend giving this spot a try if you're in the mood for some good, flavorful chicken!

Gas Station Spot That Hits HARD! Don't let the location fool you, Southern Jerks, is a hidden gem. The chicken? Perfectly seasoned, crispy, and packed with flavor and just the right amount of spice. Honestly didn't even need the sauces, they were good, but the chicken stands on its own. Fries were on point too crispy, well seasoned, with a nice hint of thyme. The loaded fries (jerk chili sauce + golden ranch) absolutely worth it. Also let me not forget the dirty rice; perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The staff was friendly, place was clean, and the menu has a solid variety. This spot delivers BIG flavor in a small space. The chicken speaks for itself!

My favorite Jamaican entree is usually jerk chicken, so when I found out there's a spot which sells fried jerk chicken, I was really excited to try the offerings. Southern Jerks, though not a Jamaican spot, does get the jerk flavor right. The wings (5/5) I ordered had a great flavor. This is more of a takeout-oriented business inside a gas station, so I ate a plate later at home. in regards to sides, I had originally thought of ordering greens, but instead ordered the dirty rice (4/5) and mac and cheese (5/5), the latter of the two being really good. The box comes with a roll and a pepper (jalapeño). You also get dipping sauces, which are awesome. Chef Jabril was really cool and kind, eager to explain his business and all the various offerings. I definitely recommend Southern Jerks for the unique flavor, 5/5 overall.

I ordered the "Just Winging It" 8-piece combo with spice, and paired it with sides of 3 Cheese Mac 'N Cheese and Collard Greens. The fried chicken was golden, crunchy, and seasoned to perfection without being too greasy. The golden ranch on the side was the perfect touch. The mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and had just the right amount of richness. The collard greens were tender, flavorful, and not too salty. They even threw in a soft roll and a crisp pepper that balanced everything out. The portion sizes were generous, and for under $25 (including a tip), I definitely feel like I got my money's worth. Service was quick, and my order was ready right on time. If you're looking for soul food meets Southern comfort with a little island kick, Southern Jerks is it.

Southern jerk crispy fried chicken it's the spot. Don't be fooled by the gas station stereotypes, this place goes hard. Made fresh to order, I got the 8-count wings with mac and cheese and a side of jerk chili sauce. Great flavor, a mouth-watering experience. It's a must try and the prices are decent. I will definitely be back for more.

I'll admit, I was skeptical at first because it's inside a gas station... but Southern Jerks is LEGIT. The food is fresh and you can smell it the second you walk in. Nothing tasted like it was sitting around -- everything came out hot, crispy, and seasoned all the way through. The Caribbean jerk fried wings were the highlight for me. Great flavor and the seasoning actually sticks. The three-cheese mac and cheese was also really good -- creamy, cheesy, and not dry at all. I tried the tenders too and they were definitely on point. This is one of those hidden gems you'd drive past and never know. Worth stopping for.

Their fries! (They give you a lot, however I ate so many before the photo bc they are so bomb!)

Great spot if you want some good fried chicken or a burger and fries. The fries were soooo good! Probably the best fries I've had in a minute. Love how they cooked the burger and toasted the bun. Oh, and make sure to get the lemon pepper sauce! So bomb with the fries! (I forgot to take a photo). Service is friendly and welcoming. All the food is made FRESH to order! Literally seen the cook making everything and the Mac and cheese! Mac n cheese is cheesy and flavorful. I was satisfied with everything. It is in a convenient store, however makes it easy to come in order and go. Overall highly recommend if you're craving some FRESH fried chicken or a good burger and fries.

This place is located inside of a gas station with no inside dining. The service is friendly and very helpful. The fries were seasoned extremely well.. I was really shocked,l until I tried the Mac n Cheese which was unbelievable delicious. I couldn't make out the distinctive flavors but they all worked well together. The rice, and the greens are both delicious with a homemade taste. It will make it difficult for me to select just one side when I return. Highly recommend them.

The woman taking my order (sorry, I didn't catch her name) was gracious about changing my order after we realized the inKind app wasn't working. I opted for the jerk chicken, plaintains, and (Caribbean) potato salad, which was a first for me! The woman let me know ahead of time that the potato salad had a pink coloring due to the beets used in it; I'm glad she told me, atherwise the color would've taken my by surprise. I could barely taste the beets, but the relish and mayo were great combos. The rice was super fluffy, though the chicken was a bit bony and not as plentfiul as I am accustomed to when ordering from other Jamaican establishments. I dined in so was able to see the in and out traffic; it appears that they have steady customers, which is always a good sign! The overall vibe is super casual.

I forgot to get our servers name but she was great and it didn't take too long for us to get our food besides the patties being made fresh to order. The beef, chicken and spinach patties were all fresh, flaky, crispy, and well seasoned with the perfect amount of spice. I had brown stew chicken with rice/peas, cabbage/carrots and plantains and my niece had jerk chicken with white rice, plantains and greens. All the food was good except I felt they skimped on my chicken portion a little and my chicken could've used a little more spice. It was cooked perfectly though, very tender and even though the portion was smaller than I'm used to it was just the right amount for me to eat during lunch, just not enough to take home for later like I'm used to doing at other Caribbean spots. We ended up getting patties, plantains and jerk chicken to go. Also, the patties were fresh and piping hot but the rest of our food was warm, almost room temperature.

Thank god we found this!…read more After finishing our lunch at Wrap & Roll, we saw this out of the corner of the eye and decided to stop here as the girlfriend was looking for some caribbean snacks. Being from St Croix island in the Virgin Islands, seeing the menu and taking in the smells of this place gave her memories of back home. Of course I was happy to indulge her request as it gave me an opportunity to try some handheld eats. First the beef pattie, pretty big and so savory with the meat melting in your mouth and the dough having a nice texture and crust. And then the saheena; OMG! It was my first time having this lovely pastry which is made of chickpeas, spinach, and caribbean spices. You'll be hooked on this after one bite. Texture was similar to a savory piece of cornbread. Of course I was very happy with this item. The girlfriend ordered a currant roll which had some sweetness to it with a flaky crust. I enjoyed it but not as much as I was scarfing down my beef pattie and saheena. They also serve traditional caribbean eats including jerk chicken, oxtails, bake & saltfish, and roti wraps. We noticed a lot of people place to go orders here and call ahead for pick up. There were several bags of eats waiting as we witnessed people roll in and pick them up while having small talk with the owners. All those items looked delicious and we plan to come back and try those out. We also talked to the owners for a bit, they're a husband/wife team who've owned/operated this place for a while. Super polite and gracious, they helped me navigate the menu and explained what the items would be like when I ordered. Sadly I could not get the Aloo Pie (sold out) but they assured me it's worth having and to come back and try it (which we will). Pearland is lucky to have this place here. Definitely recommend trying it out for yourself!

This was my first time coming to the food truck park and I especially came because of this truck. The staff was so nice I really contemplated about this rating for this review, but when I think about the amount of money paid for my main entree and how I couldn't eat half of it and the spice levels didn't match my expectation, I came to this. A 3.5 would have been more accurate quite honestly but alas, yelp has its system. I ordered the bake and fried fish and the doubles. I asked for spicy on the doubles but they didn't taste too spicy - instead I used the sauce included on my bake n fish (possibly had some scotch bonnet peppers) and it was excellent. The bake and fish came as tacos - I don't think I realized that. It was good, but only two small tacos. The french fries were unfortunately burnt and therefore dry and inedible. I gave up on eating them. We were in a hurry, otherwise, I would have chatted with the staff about possibly getting some new fries.
