    Triple J baked potato

    This is what dreams were made of. With loaded potatoes, I expect that some elements might lack such as the tenderness or flavor of the meat since it will be smothered in toppings anyway. That is not the case here! Everything on top was just enough to make me want a little more. This food is enough for two generous servings, which I'm loving in this era of sticker shock casual dining. The man taking my order was exceptionally kind when I was a tad indecisive. He knew the menu well and I could tell based off the way he recalled some items that he genuinely loved the food and could stand behind it. Love it. Will make the drive always or see them at the rodeo.

    Came here with my family on a Saturday afternoon during Juneteenth weekend. The vibe is certainly relaxed country. Seems to have a large following of customers and regulars. Service- The line starts outside, and winds its way inside. Most of the folks were there to order and take away. It took maybe an hour to get through the line and get food. Once we were at the front though, there were several staff on the line expediting and the ordering to the check out process was pretty fast. We decided to stay and eat inside. There are 2 areas to eat. One area has a few picnic style tables. Food- we were pretty hungry so we ordered alot. 1 lb of ribs/sausage/ brisket each. Plus baked beans, potatoe salad. The ribs were yum, and I am not a rib girly. The sausage was great. The brisket was aight. Overall solid, no frills BBQ spot. Love supporting black owned businesses.

    Lined up must be good. }:{

    Now wa.....................................it a minute!!! I had an unbelievable food experience. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. I am shocked! Blown away in denial. Not my favorite BBQ for several years. Typical long line as usual. I stepped towards the restroom, but another patron said( O' you do not want to go in there). They only have one restroom...... for patrons. UHMmmmmm, that was my first and last attempt to use their restroom. It is always too packed for one restroom. The all men workers do not care and or do not take time to clean the restroom. Now I ordered- a Rib sandwich and two mild Boudin links, paid and drove home. Let me tell you, the rib sandwich had one slice of bread. \^^/ The ribs were very short and small as hell. Not even enough to make a sandwich. The ribs and way too much black pepper, I could not eat it. Then my two boudin links stuffing, were entirely mush. It was inedible too. They have always been consistent with the food. I waisted time and money for inedible foods. Triple J's WOW, such a letdown. I was in denial two days. I am not sure if I will return. }:{

    The smell of the bbq and the line that was almost out of the door promised delicious food. But, our high hopes weren't met. We ordered rib platters with potato salad, baked beans and green beans. Portions sizes were nice and the ribs were tender, for the most part, but they were a bit too salty. The rib sauce was very good. Green beans, again, a bit heavy on the salt. The baked beans and potato salad were good-liked the tang of the salad. We ate in one of the sitting areas and the counter needed to be wiped down properly. Plenty of sauce available from a pump-your-own beer cooler type dispenser. About a ten minute wait to order-but the line moved fairly quickly. We were glad to experience Texas bbq, but would not rush back here.

    Big J Potato and peach cobbler

    I had to wait to write this review to make sure I wasn't gassing this place. And since they give enough food to last you 3 days I had the chance to think. And the food is just as GREAT 2 days later! I got the Big J baked potato and peach cobbler and they were both amazing. The amount of brisket on that potato was insane! And there wasn't a single dry thing on that plate from the 3 meats to the potato itself. We sat inside and I'm so glad we did because the staff was very inviting and engaged with us. I will definitely be back! My waistline won't like it but I sure will!

    Best BBQ I've had. I thought I was smart to visit at 11 am BUT there was already a line so that was a great sign. The ribs were scrumptious, fries hit, bbq sauce was wonderful. Also, the lemonade was perrrrrrfect - Not too sugary or watered down, just right. Everyone here was friendly, from the customers to the servers. Although the line was long, the wait wasn't long. There's a lot of bbq in Houston but folks over here highly appreciate triple j's and I'm glad they did. And forgive my photos, I didn't realize how dirty my phone case was I'll be back !!

    This was our second time here and I wanted to make sure I gave it a chance since its always so packed. I ordered the two way ribs very tender the sliced brisketr was how I emembered it the first time a little too over smoked for my liking ,the potatoe salad is sweet and the beans were seasoned well. You definitely get what you pay for they are not stingy at all with porpotions. The ambiance Inside the establishment makes you feel like your in someone's home they have alot of family pitchures and very personal to them (I enjoyed that). Overall a great experience and pretty decent food. I like that they added the outside patio area.

    Definitely a most if you're in the mood for BBQ in North Houston and worth the drive from anywhere. Meats or cooked/smoked to perfection. Brisket is moist and delicious. The homemade beef sausage is SO good.. this is our 2nd time here and Definitely will not be our last. My only minus is the potato salad.. its a bit too sweet for my taste. And not having Mac&Cheese..

    I had been watching on Instagram for a while now and purposed in my heart on my next visit home I was going to be sure to go try it out. I arrived around 10:45 am and they open up at 11am... there were about maybe 10 good people in line already. Once they open up they are friendly and move the line pretty quickly. I ordered 2 brisket sandwiches, 1 brisket plate and 1 brisket potato for me and my sister and nieces. I failed to get a picture of it all because everyone dug in immediately but I must share that it's delicious and flavorful... everything we had including the potato salad and beans. (You know not everyone makes a good potato salad) Another thing worth mentioning is the portions are ample! To me any one entree was enough for 3 adults to eat off. Well worth the money and time and even wait if you are a BBQ brisket lover!

    Interesting, definitely need security at the location

    We were given this recommendation from a young lady that worked at the hotel. We were in Texas visiting from California, she said they have some really good food. We arrived at the establishment, the line was super long, which was a good sign. We waited in line 60 mins outside only to wait another 30 mins inside. My husband and I both ordered the triple j special and my niece ordered some kinda potato. We thought that we would be able to eat there, but we took the 35 min ride back to the hotel. "man Houston is big. We had a microwave in the room so we could warm our food up. The food looked delicious, presentation was good. The beans were out of this world, cooked to perfection. The brisket was perfectly cooked. The sausage was extremely salty, as were the green beans which I really wanted to like, like I really wanted to like. Anyway, the ribs were very tender. The barbecue sauce was super sweet, not really what I was looking for. Would I recommend this place? I would certainly say it's a bucket list place.

    Bbq done right!!! Local favorite line out the door around the block too... once inside I thought cool time to order no, be prepared to be in a line inside a line. But be patient line goes pretty quickly and worth the wait!!! Amazing customer service hands down the best so far and will definitely come back here when in HOUSTON. They have an inside seating and outside patio dining but mainly expect it to be a to-go order just learned you can call in an order which is nice when you don't wait to wait in line. Upon entering grab your bbq sauce to go don't forget the napkins like us and of course your utensils. Enjoyed the J's special dinner comes with 3 meat of ribs about 3 ribs brisket and sausage and two sides & 2 bread slices. fries are extra. But it's homemade fries not your store bought kind. Also ordered a spicy boudin sausage. Don't FORGET your homemade desserts the peace cobbler a MUST!!! Man was the flavor on point and enough crust in there and was still freshly piping hot only way to eat it! Our family ordered the local favorite loaded baked potato worth it!!! Great mom and pop local bbq stop by!!!

    OMG! The best BBQ on the NE side of town if not in Houston. Very busy place but lines do go quickly. Loud, casual ambiance with BBQ smoke and lots of air circulating the area. Great portions for the prices. Seems high but worth it. I definitely recommend this place in the hood. Lots of seating if you want to eat in. They have some outdoor seating as well. Small parking lot. I really can't complain about anything and as far as the bad comments, I don't think it's possible because everything is fresh, hot, and goes quickly. They are constantly cleaning the eating areas and making sure everything is clean. You have to try the delicious cakes too... they are so good. Come visit and enjoy!

    Looking for authentic BBQ reminding you of uncle's cooking?! Go here now! The line is usually long, but moves FAST. NOT much seating but you'll want to take it to go anyway so that you can enjoy it at home. Nothing fancy about the inside but I'm ok with that. The ribs were falling off the bone. The baked potato was huge and stuffed to the max. Brisket was melt in your mouth good.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. Decent amount of tables and good parking situation outside

To start off with a positive, I thought the falafel patty had a really great taste and was absolutely the highlight of the burger. But outside of that the burger and the toppings I ordered just didn't work as well as I would've liked. I ordered my burger with mushrooms and sauteed onions, both toppings I know I absolutely love from making burgers at home and from other spots, but neither added much. At first I was worried that the falafel was overpowering them both but upon eating them by themselves they just lacked taste. We also got the scallion aioli on the burger and I never got a hint of it at any point. All in all, the burger was very much mediocre outside of the patty. We also got fries with the burger and while they absolutely had some potential they were extremely over seasoned. Any appreciation for the seasonings in a vacuum was immediately overshadowed by how salty they were. We also ordered the Sambal Mayo as a dipping sauce and while it did help subdue the insane salt level and overall tasted quite good, upon writing this review I found out by looking at their online menu that it contained some amount of shrimp. This information is nowhere to be seen on the ordering slip and wasn't mentioned when I handed it over to the person working at the cash register. And while I definitely accept some level of responsibility for not doing my due diligence and asking or letting them know of my dietary restrictions, it's still an extremely frustrating thing to have happen as both a vegetarian and someone with a mild shellfish allergy. If for whatever reason the online menu is out of date or I missed an obvious indication of it containing shrimp somewhere I am more than happy to edit my review.

I went with the Double Good Burger at Johnny Good Burger, and honestly... it was surprisingly good. Perfectly smashed patties with those crispy edges, juicy inside, and well-balanced flavors that didn't feel overcomplicated. Sometimes simple just works--and this definitely did. The fries deserve their own shoutout: extra crispy, hot, and downright addictive. No soggy sadness here. I kept telling myself "just one more" until the tray was mysteriously empty. All in all, a very satisfying burger experience. If you're in the mood for a legit smash burger and happen to be wandering POST Houston, this one's absolutely worth stopping for.

There were no other customers at the time, but that's to be expected for a slow Monday. The menu is quite simple with just 4 different entrees, 3 different ways to order fries, and a few soft drink options in a cold case. Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. After trying a number of different burger spots it definitely wanted to come here again and make sure that it was living up to my previous experience. Love seeing the lunch rush though because you know it's gonna be good. Ambiance wise, this place is very chill. No indoor area, just order at the counter, get 1 of their outdoor patio tables or take it to go. There was a line to order, but service was very fast. The onion rings were some of the best that I've had recently, and I ordered their "Texas size steak sandwich" to go as well for dinner, very filling. I'm so glad I finally took the time to try out this EaDo gem. I understand why they've been a Houston burger staple for so long now. I'll definitely be adding this place to the list in my burger rotation, enjoy!
