If any of y'all have been around the Greenspoint area for decades like I have, then you will remember a sandwich shop named "Rockies Subs" which was situated next to what used to be at Kroger's and a Luby's on Greens Road. Unfortunately about a year ago from the date of this review, Peter, which was the Asian owner of Chinese decent, decided to retire and long be gone. I was saddened to hear they I cannot get my delicious cheese steak sandwiches that I have not been able to find anywhere else. I'm a little bit biased to this establishment because I used to work there in the late '80s for a few months helping to make the preps for the foods there. Forward to now, I found this place upon a recommendation from a friend and semince this is a block for my residence I decided to try it. BLAST!! This is a spitting image out what ROCKY'S tasted like when it existed. I was blown away also when I heard that owner of this establishment that's been here for decades, was high school friend with Peter. (of Rocky's Subs) so they decided to open a business amongst each other in different places hence the parallel recipes as well as the pizza. It is rough inside and it showing its age but there are such thing as hole in the walls and sometimes they are the best places to eat correct? Well here is one of them and the bonus benefit is the prices are early 1990s currency! Where else can you get a Cheesesteak Hoagie for the price of around $7 and some change plus half price on the next one? This place never seems busy you know I was wondering how it stays open but hurry and get your cheese steak fixed before this guy decides to follow suit. There are coupons for the pizza that you can pick up at the counter and already at a very purposely priced average layout of $12 ish you can even get a discount off of that which you can feed a small party. This is one of those places where I tried it three times in one week and those that know me no that I will legitimately return as a nuisance until I'm sick of an establishment... and here I am. That Ambience is Cafe style and you're not going to get any decorations or happy cashiers but you will get a glimpse of its past ghostly history which seem to have been a Mexican restaurant at one time....decades ago! Don't let the outside deter you because there's not much to see and if you're driving past here fast enough, you might not see it and then when you step inside, don't get a double whammy of being surprised but just try the product for pizza sake, you will love it.

10/10. Came in and got the cheesesteak, a side of spaghetti, some fries, a slice of cheesecake and a drink for under $20. Great food and service. Will definitely be back

We got Mr Hoagie's to go for lunch and really enjoyed the cheesesteak sandwich and fries. My husband ordered a chicken Parmesan sandwich and instead received an Italian tomato beef sandwich which was the only downside - however, he enjoyed that sandwich and said the flavor was good. We would definitely go back and the pricing truly can't be beat, especially for lunch!

Mom and pop shop, greatest value for your buck in the area! Spent 10.75 on 2 Philly cheesesteaks! I love cheesesteaks and you won't find a better deal than this spot!

Okay food but friendly service. The Italian was good and full of meat but was very disappointed in the chicken Philly. You can see the difference in meat in the pictures. There was more bread than chicken in the Philly and tasted like frozen chicken. I'm not likely to return.

We had the order put in ahead of time and it was ready on time. The space is smaller but I think its designed to be that way. The buschetta by itself can be an order. Good lord it was so good. Nutty, mushroom, cheesy crispy but not dry bread. Im a big toppings make the pizza guy. Perfect crust. I asked for it to be cooked a bit longer because i like really crispy edges. Good bread to topping ratio. You can tell the toppings arent just run of the mill stuff you put on top. The pizza was flavorful, the ricotta was creamy and gave a good cut through with the fatty meats on the pizza. Wonderful job talespin. I need to come back for the breakfast for dinner pizza.

Great char on the bottom, light crust, cupped pepperoni and sauce/cheese were good. The pizza looks amazing when you get it, presentation is 10/10. First time here, not busy when we arrived although more started to come in as the afternoon progressed. Fun, rustic set up with mixed seating and a good amount of outdoor seating (too hot for that) -focal point is an area with steps (could be a play area) and a big screen TV. World Cup Futbol was on and it looks like this is a spot where you can watch Futbol if there is a match. Pies with enticing topping combinations made it hard to pick just two. We ordered the Dream Catcher and Troublemaker. Dream Catcher-you had me at Goat cheese and Truffle and the Fior Di Latte took it over the top! Troublemaker was also enjoyed with the Chicken Italian sausage which is not available everywhere. Bonus-house made tomato sauce-which was delicious. A couple of salads and desserts so it's all about the pizza here and that's just fine. Service was upbeat and engaged. They do have another location in the Heights. Well despite looking very appealing outwardly, after arriving home, I realized that my pepperoni madness pizza turned out to be not so "mad" afterall because it was lacking...Lacking in overall taste, cheesiness, pepperoni, and personality ! And the salad was fresh , but overpriced for the size and toppings.. So overall I gave 3 stars for service and freshness, but I would opt for better pizza options around town..
