I explained that I couldn't because I would have to leave work early. She responded that "she didn't ask me to take off" which rubbed me the wrong way since I had already told her no. About an hour later, she canceled my appointment, saying she was "uncomfortable" servicing me. The entire situation felt rude, unprofessional, and inconsiderate. Clients schedule appointments around their own responsibilities too, and it's unfair to expect people to rearrange their whole day last minute due to the stylist preference. No means no. Reliable scheduling and communication should go both ways.

Jeny listen to me. I told her my hair was badly damaged and I needed her to see if she could fix it. I was skeptical, but after having a conversation and asking a lots of questions with Jeny, she said, if you give me a few months she could make a difference. I watched her for a few minutes do another client hair. It appeared she took pride in her job. So, I made my appointment for later the same day. I was please with my hair even though my hair was damage. I received tons of compliments. So 6 months later I'm a proud client of Dominican Hair Studio. My hair is much healthier. It is growing and getting fuller. I I have a set appointment for every 2 weeks. I use to go to my other salon weekly. Jeny advised me to come every to weeks. This is unbelievable, I thought this was impossible. WOW...This is a win win. Jeny takes pride in healthy hair. From start to finish, the customer service was unwelcoming and unprofessional. I also did not receive what I specifically requested: waist-length stitch braids, with knotless braids in the back and curled ends. My braids stopped right above my bra area, and when I mentioned the length, she stated that it was because of the curled ends. I understand that the curled ends can affect the overall length, but that could have been a simple fix with better communication. If you felt the braids needed to be braided longer to achieve the length I requested, you could have simply communicated that with me and let me know the if there was any additional cost. Unfortunately, because of both the customer service and the fact that I did not receive the style I requested, I would not recommend this stylist to anyone else, nor would I return. ‍

Longtime customer...referred more than a few friends, including my husband who went there for about…read morea year. (He quit going when after the second time she hired him to do some work at her house and tried to swindle him, he just finally had to say enough is enough, cut his losses, walked off the job, and refused to go back to get his hair done there.) Enough about that, though. What she did to my hair and worse, and the 'dishonesty' (omission of truth is also a lie :/) about it, was the last straw. In four years I had 'only' let maybe two other people cut or colour my hair besides Jamie...but I have to get it done every five weeks so you can imagine it gets expensive. Thus, I started going to Hair Fsire. However, 95% of time I would only go for color, because Jamie is not very good with scissors. (as you can see from the picture! ?) I would go see Jamie every five weeks and she touched up my roots. Every (roughly) second time or so, I'd have her put in some highlights. The problem with Jamie is that she doesn't pay attention to the time. She's often left bleach sitting on my hair too long. This has damaged my hair of course. But the last time was two months ago. I think she was doing somebody else's hair, which was often the case ...while the bleach ' sat 'on my hair. This last time, however, she waited way too long to check it and before you know it, it was fried. I mean fried! She asked me if I wanted a trim (like I said normally I don't, but she was sort of pressing it ). It was a Saturday and I was reading my book and relaxing, and so I said yes but only to trim 'the ends' off. This is what I was left with. What happened (which I didn't peace together for a couple weeks) was she had completely fried my hair, and then cut it all /"chopped it all up" all (terrrribly lopsided uneven hatchet job) obviously trying to hide the mess .. ie the burning and singing of my hair. Much of my what must've melted off in globs My hair grow so slow. I'm going to have to grow it out for about a year now, then cut it off and regrow it all out. I admit, I ahead of time, I asked her if she would fix it, but she decided she didn't want to. She only wanted to do a conditioning treatment. No that's not gonna cover the bottles of hair vitamins that I'm having to buy to grow my hair out nor the embarrassment of walking around with my hair looking the worse it's looked in years and years. Trust me.. stay away from this place and save your money. The truth is Jamie likes to think she knows everything, that she's smarter than everyone in the room, yeah she'll sit there and talk about her old arrests, drug history, and her exes who are all in prison. Makes no sense. I listened because I felt sorry for her, but I can't imagine if I was the one running this shop and having somebody like this work here I went to her because she was the only reasonably priced person I could find for the number of times I have to get my hair done. I'm sure it'll be worth paying more now.
