I begin by saying, I did NOT hire this company, my review is based solely on my interactions with them (not on their work). After failing to make any progress with another tree service business, I contacted Southern New Hampshire Tree Service and haven't had any better luck with them. I called on July 23 and Keith, the owner, came out the next day to assess the scope of work I was requesting. He repeatedly stated that "this is a big job" (and that is true, my property has been neglected for 13+ years & I have many trees, of varying sizes, to remove). He suggested that I get estimates from at least 3 to 4 different businesses and left without providing his estimate. I was dumbfounded and wasn't sure what to do next (I had the distinct impression that he wasn't interested in doing the job). Being as he came on a Friday, I had to wait out the weekend before I could contact him again. When I did call him, on July 27, Keith told me that he'd have to rent a crane to do the job and that would increase the cost considerably so he'd said that he would send me a list of other businesses, that own their own cranes, for me to contact. As I write this, more than two weeks after, I have not received any information from them. Since this is the 2nd tree service to have failed me, I'm, maybe foolishly, beginning to think it might be personal (perhaps because I am disabled). read more

Darlene s. After doing some research, I called Southern NH to give me an estimate to take down 3 trees and prune back numerous dead branches on 4 other trees. Keith arrived within the hour, walked around to see what work needed to be done, and gave me a fair estimate. He was able to schedule the work within just a couple of days, called the night before to confirm the appointment, and the five member crew arrived precisely on time. They were hard-working and professional and finished the job in about an hour. Clean up was EXCELLENT! They ground the stumps, mulched debris, and raked and smoothed the surfaces so well you'd never know there was ever a tree there. I highly recommend them!! read more

We had Southern NH Tree take down a bunch of very old pines- they were giant, close to the house, and giving us anxiety every storm, and one was actually pushing over our barn. Several other companies had told us "nope" because of the trees' locations (we also had power lines to deal with), but Keith came out several times and walked the site with us and came up with a plan. He also suggested we wait until the ground froze- I'm SO glad he did! The equipment (they had to use a giant crane) didn't damage the lawn or landscaping at all. The team showed up early, got everything set up quickly, and got straight to work. I think they ended up taking down around 20 trees using the crane- watching the crew at work was very impressive! They team was on site for two days, and they were all super professional, very friendly, and worked very hard the whole time. The results are amazing- our yard looks like it doubled in size, and the sunshine is already coming in. SNH Tree's team did an incredible clean up job- I swear they picked up every branch and pine needle that fell. They took care of all the logs, brought their own chipper and took care of the chips, etc. You'd never know that they were here, except for the trees being gone! And they even used their bobcat to scrape our driveway of all the ice (thank you!!). We needed to have two big oaks removed from our backyard. They were big, leaning towards the house, and in a tricky position close to both our house and shed. I call around for estimates, and everyone insisted that they'd need to use a crane and might even need to take down an additional tree across our driveway to fit their crane. I contacted Southern NH Tree online for an estimate, and Keith was at my house the next morning, and had an estimate back to me before noon. Not only was his price incredibly competitive, but he was offering to take them down without using a crane, because he recognized that our driveway was relatively new and he didn't want to damage it with a crane. The payment plan he was willing to work out with us was simply extraordinary, and he and his guys were back the next morning to take down the trees. They did a really fabulous job, expertly taking down each piece without a single mishap- no clipped wires (they ran across near the trees) no damage to the house, fence, driveway, shed or yard - I couldn't have been happier! They ground the stumps, filled in the holes with fresh loam, cleaned up and removed all the wood and debris, and even blew the sawdust of my back porch. All in all, we couldn't have been happier. They were prompt, professional, thorough, careful and friendly. I will definitely be calling them for any tree service we may need in the future, and I would gladly recommend them to anyone looking for great work at a great price! read more

Keith and his crew did a fantastic job. Very fair price for such a large job (15 trees on property and in close quarters). Very impressed by the head crew person who made sure safety precautions were always adhered to and that property wasn't going to be damaged. Because the chipper and log trucks were in front of other people's properties, they also made sure that the area was cleaned up before they left. Very punctual, courteous, and fair. We had 5 mature spruce trees removed. These trees stood 30 feet or more in height. The estimator who came to price the job gave us a heck of a deal, and the crew that came to do the work was aces. They did an excellent job in very close quarters in removing these trees without harming our house. Our yard was raked and all debris removed when the finished. We hired Gate City Tree Service to cut down some very large Pine Trees , We called others and they did not even want to touch them because a few had been in a very difficult spot, They cut around 20 trees for a very reasonable price .
