Juan is the best bartender ever! We walked in and he explained the whole layout and the multiple bar situation, it was a RuPaul night, which means that they were showing the episode on TV and they were drink specials. He was attentive and immediately recognized that we were out of town and took care of us. He also explained that because we were from out of town he knew that we might not understand that they hold our credit card when we open a tab which was nice because not everybody does it that way. As far as the bar is concerned that they have a nice stand floor apparently they do drag shows late at night on Fridays and Saturdays. There is plenty of TVs a great bar selection of drinks and nightly specials a pretty good happy hour and Trump experience. The poor is pretty heavy so if you enjoy strong drinks, you're gonna enjoy it here. Just know that when you come up to one of the entrances after 5 o'clock, you may get security asking to take everything out of your pocket and you may get scanned by a metal detector. That's just how it works in this area of town. Also parking might be a problem because they only have about 20 spaces.

I'm 21 and I love exploring places and sharing my reviews, so of course I had to check out Southern Nights Orlando, one of the most popular gay clubs in the city. Honestly, my experience was super fun and memorable. The vibe here is amazing -- full of energy, great music, and an atmosphere where you can really be yourself. I loved how inclusive the crowd was; everyone was just there to dance, have a good time, and enjoy the night. The drag shows were definitely a highlight for me. They bring so much talent, personality, and excitement to the stage. What I really liked is that the club has different areas -- you can dance in one room, chill outside on the patio, or just grab a drink and socialize at the bar. It gives you options depending on your mood. I spent most of the time dancing, and it was packed, but in a way that added to the fun. Of course, when the place fills up, it gets pretty hot and crowded, especially near the stage. Also, the lines to get in can be long on the weekends, so my advice is to go a little earlier to avoid waiting too much. The bathrooms could be kept in better condition, but honestly that's something I've seen happen in many busy clubs. Overall, I'd rate Southern Nights Orlando a solid 9/10. The atmosphere, the music, the shows, and the sense of community really make it worth it. If you're visiting Orlando or even if you live here and want to enjoy a night out in the LGBTQ+ scene, I 100% recommend checking this place out. You'll have fun, meet people, and create good memories.

Here for the horror show with the Les Vixens

The shows here are amazing. It's a small bar with a nice vibe. I've only been here for the Les Vixens Burlesque shows which are incredible!! The venue itself has a hometown bar kind of feel. If you're planning on coming out for a show I do recommend getting here early because there is limited seating. I personally try to get as close to the stage as I can so I usually arrive about an hour before the show doors open. They usually have the bar available before going in so you can grab a couple drinks and then once the doors open for the show there's another bar inside. I'd recommend bringing cash to make it quicker for the bartender. The service here is really nice and I'm grateful they have Zephyrhills water. Just be warned if you are set in the front by the stage It can get very cold so I highly recommend bringing a shawl or a sweater. They have to pump it down so it's not too hot for the ax however it does tend to make the audience very cold. Which I guess isn't too bad considering how hot the shows can get. We adore Ivy and her girls!

There seems to be no diversity. It's the same playlist of songs every time you go. I think it's time for a new DJ.

36 yr old male and single would it be worth going to this establishment or would there be a better one to go to?

Yes, they have different areas and people of all ages attend

Best bar or club for lesbians? My best friend is looking for a place for her and I to go to in Orlando; what would our best options be?! Thanks!

Southern nights is pretty good on Saturdays for their Girl night

What is the specials for this Saturday night?

I cant necessarily say there are drink specials but it is Girl (lesbian) night there. They usually have some form of entertainment (burlesque etc) in the man dance room.

Are there still guys on lesbian night there? If not what is another gay club with good music tonight?

Yes, the club is always open to everyone you will just have a heavier female population. Stonewood is another pretty good club.

I used Yelp to find a lunch place while visiting my oldest friend in Orlando and found that Outpost…read moreNeighborhood Tavern had meatloaf. Alas, the menu has been changed and meatloaf is no longer available. But I sat down anyway, Andy guided me through what was popular, and he helped me pick out a Cuban Sandwich. Natasha came to check on me and the head chef, when he heard how I was praising that Cuban Sandwich, came out of the kitchen to thank me. Here's the interesting part. Within minutes of arriving, being seated by gentle and kind Andy, seeing Natasha come up to me to check on me, I was ugly-crying and couldn't stop. Yes, Outpost is a Tavern. Yes, it's a gay bar. Yes, there are people who are living their lives of love and inclusivity that frequent this remarkable place. The vibe is peaceful, loving, and oh, so gentle. While I was eating, a straight couple came in, sat down, read over the menu, looked around and, after a few minutes of whispered conversation, got up and left. I went to the bar and chatted with Andy. "Happens once or twice every week," he said, shrugging. Love is love, people. I was so moved by the vibe that my entire system relaxed for the first time in the year I've been living in Florida again. I grew up in Miami, lived in Orlando for a year 1990-1991, and finally left, swearing I'd never come back. The Florida I'm living in today, here in September of 2026, is a nightmare of tension, hate for "the other", and red-hat wearing maniacs who think that only folks like them are true Americans. I saw love, and inclusion, and kindness within the walls of Outpost Tavern. So my entire mien crumbled as the tension drained away and I recognized that I was among my people, despite being straight myself. I haven't felt so safe in a year. I will be visiting every time I am anywhere near, from now on. If you want to escape this authoritarian state, if only for a meal, and a MARVELOUS meal at that, please wear your rainbow clothing and visit Outpost Tavern. It's nice to visit what neighborly inclusivity and love feel like among friends who were strangers just moments earlier. Love is Love, people.

Both were a great time! The vibes are perfect inside, the staff is very friendly and attentive, and the drinks were tasty! I love when bartenders have an opportunity to play and share their creations. The one thing that disappointed me was the veggie burger. Let me start by praising this place for having a veggie patty instead of a Beyond or Impossible patty AND for letting me sub the veggie patty for $0!! That is truly appreciated. The patty, however, suffered the common curse of falling apart quickly. It was also a bit dry and not very flavorful. Nonetheless, there are a couple of other veggie/vegan options on the menu (like the fried cauliflower which was so yum) so I'm excited to try those out!
