I was in the mood for wings and wanted to try a new place. Ended up at Johnny's. Now, if this was my local dive bar I'd be back often. The menu is stacked with all the bar classics. But Johnny's is across town for me and not really worth the drive. The food was pretty good. The mango habanero wings were solid. They weren't jumbo sized but exactly what you'd expect for 10 wings. Oh and 10 wings for $15 is a good price these days. The sauce was on the low end of medium for me. They didn't really have anything hot beyond buffalo hot. So, not the place if you want to train for Hot Ones! Tenders were huge and juicy but the lemon pepper was pretty bland. Cheese fries were good. Like I say, a solid place for the locals. We went to Johnny's Fillin Station on Saturday. We both ordered the patty melt with one order of fries and only one drink. The patty melts were ordered medium but we're more like a medium rare and were very greasy. The total bill with the tip was $46. I think that is a bit much for two sandwiches, a drink and some fries. read more

This is by far my favorite diner. The menu is varied and it is not limited to breakfast. You can order anything on the menu anytime that you come. The food quality and the tastes very very good. I enjoy breakfast and lunch there. One thing that I haven't seen many people mentioned is that the owner's wife Margarita Does homemade desserts. I absolutely love her coconut cream pie and recently my last visit she had a chocolate cookie pie. The service is impeccable. The staff are at the very top of their game. They're courteous they're nice they're attentive and they smile and they're easy to find if something comes up. But one thing that I would like to highlight is their homemade desserts, even with breakfast I'll have a piece of coconut cream pie anytime. read more

Divy neighborhood watering hole. Pool tables and TVs for sports. Great place to watch the game while still being able to chat amount yourselves. Not noisy. The bartender is fantastic. I forgot his name but he was very prompt and quick witted. I've had the burger before and it is delish (think this is what they're known for) but this time I ordered the Chicago dog basket. Stopped in here for the first time a couple months ago. It seemed like it would be a cool dive bar to chill at. We sat at the bar and met a guy who had been coming to there for a good 17 years. He suggested the Mac and Cheese bites, but we had already ordered the pretzel bites and a burger to split. I wish we would have gotten his advice sooner because the food was kinda sad. The pretzel bites were over done and the cheese dip was so runny it was basically impossible to pick up or have it adhere to the pretzel. On the upside, the drinks were good on this go around and our bartender was a nice older man who seemed like he'd been around for quite a while. Unfortunately, the next 2 times that we went the bartenders made the drinks pretty terribly. When two Long Islands can't give you a buzz, what's the point? The food was the same quality, with the exception of the Mac and Cheese Bites, which were actually good, unlike those pretzels. Sidenote: Make sure you specify what shelf liquor you want because they are quick to give you that top shelf. read more

This seems like a really cool local bar in the sodo district, the prices make me sad tho. While yes to the locals this is close and cool hang out vibe, drinks are the same price as bars downtown. Recently moved to Orlando area and hopped around to find our go-to NFL Sunday sports bar. My boyfriend and I are big wing connoisseurs and love beer deals. After visiting many over congested, over priced, not friendly sports bars - This is our spot!!!! All boxes checked and more. Love the open ambience. Love the reasonably priced food and drinks. Love the energy. Love the music. Love the service Jamie has been our server every time so far and we owe a lot of our great experience each time to her fantastic service. She is friendly, helpful, fun and just overall great at what she's doing here. Being someone who came from the service industry, I would love to have had someone like her on my team. You can't go wrong with the wings here. Can't go wrong with the drink prices. Can't go wrong with the brunch specials. I have yet to come on a Saturday, but I'm almost positive it's all day brunch on saturdays so I definitely need to make it here on a Saturday! Definitely our NFL Sunday spot though. This place is the coolest. I loved it here. Definitely a local place with a relaxing and chill vibe. Fish was nicely battered in and perfectly cooked. Burger was good too. The key lime pie is something of dreams. The rich creamy and lime flavor is amazing! That crust though so good! Chad was a great waiter, knowledgeable and friendly and open to chatting even with as busy as it was. I will return. Johnny's is a neighborhood favorite, so be prepared for a crowd anytime there's a football game on (especially the Steelers). It's a fun atmosphere with eclectic decor (and nods to the local high school) with televisions everywhere so you can enjoy the games no matter where you're seated. Keep in mind when they're busy that their friendly staff works as hard as they can keeping up with orders. Their menu is your standard bar food and drinks. We had the most awful customer service experience between the waitress who took a few orders from our party and then just walked off to go wait another table without even acknowledging 3 of our guests. When one of our party walked over to tell her she had forgotten some of us she snapped back rudely that she had other tables to wait on. As we were a large group between tables, another server said he would take our order. When the original server returned she asked us what we wanted and we told her we had already ordered. She asked us about food and when I mentioned I was going to give the other server my order since I already had a tab open she rudely replied "as long as you're sitting at my table you're not". Mind you we were standing between the two bar area high top tables and not seated at her table. Then we had the manager yell at our party to move out of the way as a few had gathered on the side to socialize. I thought they were mistaken about him being a manager as I would never guess a manger would talk to his guests so rudely. When he walked by and made another comment, I asked if he was the manager and he confirmed he was. I told him I've never known a manager to lack such basic customer service skills and he was so rude and said I told you 4 times to move. Well he had never told me to move before so there was no reason to talk to me in that manner and he was even more rude this time. I told him a manager should never speak to his guests like that and told him we wouldn't be returning and he said, " you promise?" with a big smirk on his face. Absolutely disgusting and the food wasn't even good. Do not waste your money to be treated so rudely. read more

Stopped by for lunch on the 4th of July. It's been a while since we've been here, and we were looking forward to having their burger again. Their burgers have been voted best burger in Orlando many times, and when they haven't been #1, they've been top contenders. We were greeted and taken care of by Serra C on this visit. Serra was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional and took great care of us. Since it was the 4th of July, we decided to try their hotdogs, and I'm glad we did! The hotdogs had the required "snap," and the basket comes with 2 dogs and fries. We were able to split the basket and a cheeseburger and left quite satisfied. Cheeseburger ($10.65) and hot dog basket with fries ($11) and Yuengling 20 oz ($4.65). They also have t-shirts and ball caps with their logos and some interesting sayings for sale. We were going to pick up a couple of t-shirts but they didn't have the ones we liked in our sizes or colors. Never been here before and actually did not even know it was here. I'm glad the person I was meeting for lunch recommended Johnny's. Came early afternoon after the lunch rush. It was a good time as there was little distraction. The food order came out in good time and prepared very well. The tater tots were cooked perfectly, they were great. If you're looking for a dive bar Johnny's is definitely the place. Our waitress was super nice and attentive. I ordered the buffalo fried chicken wrap medium. It was really good but I preferred more ranch and for $9 it should include a side. My friends wings came out with blue cheese instead of the ranch they requested and my buffalo chicken wrap needed more ranch so she said she could bring me a side. I decided to give the side of ranch to one of the people who were mistakenly given blue cheese. When we got the check I was a little disappointed that there was a small up charge for the side of ranch without being told there would be an extra charge. Had we known this we would've brought up the fact that the wrong sauce was brought out, but at the time we didn't want to inconvenience her. I did try a wing and it was really good (ask for them extra crispy). I heard the burgers here are good so I'm interested in coming back and trying one. I still like the feel of this place to grab a nice bite in a relaxing and fun environment. I ordered the Turkey Reuben and it had plenty of white meat turkey and flavorful sauerkraut. I also got the fried pickles appetizer (one of my favorites here) and a couple of Blue Moon beers for good measure. The staff is always friendly. I found out Tuesday night's can result in an overflow parking situation. I arrived at 5pm and there were no spots to be had. Johnny's Other Side on the opposite side of the lot has a Tuesday night drink special and a live band so be prepared to park on the side streets on Tuesdays. We returned not long ago and I'm happy to say we had a much better experience!! Parking is still tricky here. They run out of spots quickly, especially during normal eating times (i.e. noon). We didn't try to bring the dog this time so there was no issue there. If you're planning to bring a puppers, I highly recommend calling first to check. The bowls are actually quite good. Previously I'd only had the burger and hot dogs, which were fine, but nothing to write home about. The Cuban bowl was delicious. Would seriously recommend it. Our waitress was fabulous. Personable. A damn fine burger in a dive bar - how else is there to describe this place? It is a bit hard to describe Johnny's, but "cluttered dive bar" is a good place to start. It's got tons of "crap" over every wall and surface in the place, some of which is interesting to look at, some seems to be just clutter. It's a seat yourself kind of joint which I could see being an issue when it's busy, but the servers are attentive and notice when someone new sits and they check in quickly. We had the pretzel bites to start and they were great, although the cheese sauce was a bit watery. The burgers we had were awesome, perfectly cooked, the right amount of char and flavor and nice and juicy. Food is served in plastic trays and with plastic utensils and to-go cups. This ain't a classy place, but that's ok. The restrooms are small and not air conditioned which is a bummer in Florida. The atmosphere really isn't my thing, so I'm not sure I would be back unless I happened to be with someone who wanted to - but the burgers are great if that is what you are looking for! read more
