I brought home my new German Shepard two days ago from Alabama Canine. He is AWESOME and…read moreunbelievably well trained!!! I haven't had a dog in over 20 years...and I was nervous...puppies are cute but I knew I needed a dog with a strong foundation in obedience; I wouldn't be very good at housebreaking, keeping off of furniture, chewing, running away with the leash -- and all of those "cute" things that puppies do. After literally years of talking about it, I took a chance and trusted the judgment and skill of Emily Richardson at Alabama Canine. She suggested a puppy with just the right temperament, and then that puppy stayed with her for board and train for a few months. My cuz and I picked him up last Sunday, and then started the 4 day, almost 1800 mile drive home to Las Vegas. He was PERFECT! He spent all day in SUV in his crate, entertaining himself better than most adults on such a long drive. No whining, no barking, no accidents, nothing. He had his deer antler and his squeaky toy....and he really was perfect. Each night at the hotel he always let us know he had to go outside to do his biz. Even though he is still a puppy, and everyday was something new with brand new people, he was always happy and loving -- he LOVES people! We got home two days ago, and he has settled in as if he's lived in Vegas his whole life :-). I asked Emily to train him for the pool in addition to his obedience training....and he is swimming laps! We all have so much fun just watching him chase his ball in the water. But most importantly....Emily spent the time on pick-up day going thru his training with me, wrote down all I needed to know about transferring his training to me, and off we went. Now that we are home, we practice his training every day, and he is so much better behaved than I ever hoped for. Took to his doggie door immediately for the outside biz. Finally, I want to say that Emily texted (is that a word?) me pictures, updates and little videos of his training almost every day -- and it really may have been every single day. I'm so grateful to her and Alabama Canine for my beautiful well-behaved puppy. Sally Miller

Turned a puppy who pulled on a lease, jumped all over everyone, and wouldn't come when called into one that listens and doesn't jump on toddlers in the house. Because of his size, and how excited he could get, he was really hard to walk, and whenever he saw another dog, he would pull my arm off. My wife refused to walk him, and I rarely did. Over the years, we tried many things (classes, special collars, other dog trainers), but just gave up, figuring you can't teach an old dog new tricks. Hank is a 2 year old Brittany who we rescued as a 1-year old. He never learned basic obedience, and it became very frustrating to try to communicate what we wanted. Enter Drew. We enrolled both dogs in the In Home - Off Leash Training. Drew came pretty much every day to our house for about an hour or two while we were at work for "as long as it takes", which ended up being about 5 weeks. He was very flexible, and worked around our schedule. After the 5 week in home training, Drew showed us how to do everything, and for the next several weeks, our dogs learned how to trust us to train them. Now both dogs walk perfectly behind me without pulling on walks. If they see another dog, they just keep walking, and don't pull or jump or bark (this one still amazes... if you could have seen them before!). I even feel comfortable enough to take both dogs at the same time! At the park, they will come when called. They can sit and stay, and be patient. It's kind of incredible to have such well behaved dogs! Sure, the training is expensive, but it really works. In my opinion it's worth every penny, because we have happier dogs, and way less stress.

Brandon and Nicole absolutely delivered! I received fun updates, adorable pictures, and even video calls whenever I needed a check-in. The training results were fantastic--Loki now walks calmly on a leash, comes when called, and actually listens to commands! It was exactly what I asked for, and they nailed it. He got to socialize, play in the beautiful turfed yard, and most importantly, he was treated like family. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out. Loki loved it there, and I could tell he had the best time learning and growing. Huge thanks to The Copper Cottage Canines for turning basic obedience into a fun, positive, tail-wagging success!
