I could go into the office and make my payments in person, for several years I did this and didn't think about it much... One day they sent me a letter threatning to cancel my policy BECAUSE I OWED THEM A DOLLAR ($1.00)..... I couldn't get a straight answer from anyone about why they would threaten to cancel a long term customer WHO HAS NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT OR BEEN LATE...... After talking to one of the agents and telling him about it; I WAS JUST TOLD "DONT WORRY ABOUT IT"..... No apology, no explanation of how if I walk into the office to pay and you tell me what I owe and I pay it: HOW THE HELL COULD I STILL OWE YOU A DOLLAR???? I just assumed that it was racial (I'm african american and NOT from here) and shrugged it off and went about my life. However, lately they have hired a female (african american) who is either still in the process of being trained; or is just NOT very competent.... I once asked her about my renewal date and she in turn asked me for my social security number.... As I pointed to her that I had been coming there for years and they generally DONT ask for my social security number... They ask for my name and address and pull up my account based on that... None of the other agents said a word... Also, most of the times when I call she answers the phone, she generally ends up telling me that I need to speak to Aaron or the other guy; lately they are either very rarely in the office or they just tell her to say that... The other day I called about my current upcoming renewal (the new girl answered) and after waiting on hold for awhile she comes back and gives me a price which seemed kind of high... She had no information and it was clear that that she had to go ask someone and then come back and relay the information... The dollar amount she gave me turned out to be WRONG, I found this out after calling the insurance company directly... After doing a little research online I found out that the insurance companies here in Georgia have been granted another rate revision (a euphamism for a RATE INCREASE) and that Georgia was leading the nation in auto insurance rate increases at that point... NONE of the insurance agents at APB EVER mentioned or bothered to explain the whole "rate revision" SCHEME.... As this point I've switched and don't intend on renewing with THEM... After seeing how they treat a long term customer WHO HAS NEVER MISSED A PAYMENT OR EVEN BEEN LATE; along with the fact that they have apparently hired someone who is marginally (on a good day) competent its time to move on.... Based on what I have recounted here that one star rating is a well deserved assessment of APB insurance....

On July 13th my mother passed away (!) and I was about to travel to Europe for her funeral and didn't want to leave my family behind without ID cards so inquired about this since I didn't receive any proof of insurance yet. (!) However, when on July 17th (over one month after my signatures) I still did not have any proof of insurance or binder or anything, I was worried and asked a few times about a status update. Especially after my mortgage company started to notify me about the absence of any insurance. Where I expected some helpful customer service, especially in light of just losing my mom, I literally received the most unprofessional and embarrassing e-mail from him that I've ever seen from any service provider. It was sent at 12.32am (!), had no salutation and basically, I'm paraphrazing' told me to stop questioning him, shut up and just believe him because he 'knew what he was doing'....
