Southern Shores Coffee, a family-owned and operated business, began its journey in Gulf Shores, AL in 2018. That original location at 229 E 20th Ave #13, Gulf Shores quickly gained popularity for its quality coffee and welcoming atmosphere. I remember meeting Mark, the owner, the members of his family over time and they're very friendly, hard working, and welcoming folks.  The success of that location led them to expand and open a second location in Foley, Alabama, in 2020. The new location, named Southern Shores Eats and Drinks, is downtown at 217 N McKenzie St, Foley, AL. This place not only serves the same great coffee but also offers a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options and a big spacious full service bar that's open all day, even for breakfast :-) You can find some very good cocktails here like bloody Marys, espresso martinis, margaritas, and a me specialties like Surfs Up, Shark Attack, Mermaid Lemonade, The Shores Bushwhacker, and more.  Too early for alcohol, no worries, their menu features a variety of delicious options, including expertly crafted coffee drinks, brewed coffee, and an assortment of teas. Whether you prefer a classic cappuccino, a frappe or a refreshing iced coffee, there's something for everyone here.  Food here is pretty darn good, for breakfast there's with lots of bagel choices, biscuits & gravy, steak & eggs, paninis, breakfast tacos, quiche, pancakes and more. Lunch/dinner has lots of choices of burgers, pulled pork, Al kinds of chicken dishes, wraps, subs and much more.  The growth of Southern Shores Coffee is a testament to the dedication and passion of the family behind the business. Their commitment to providing high-quality very tasty coffees and  food, and outstanding service where you can satisfy your cravings for quality coffee and fare throughout the day. If you're looking for a quick bite to pair with your drink, Southern Shores Coffee offers an array of scrumptious breakfast and brunch items. BTW don't let the relatively small store front fool you, because theirs several dining areas inside, even tables for outdoor dining and there's a big games room in the back with pool tables, so yes the looks are deceiving.  Bottom line: Whether you're a coffee aficionado or simply looking for a cozy spot to unwind, Southern Shores Coffee is a really good  destination any time. Highly recommended!!  Hours: Mon-Fri 7AM-2PM Sat 7AM-12PM Sun 8AM-1PM https://www.southernshorescoffee.com/mckenzie-menu https://www.facebook.com/SouthernShoresCoffeeFoley/

Our first time here... was a very pleasant atmosphere, clean, plus excellent service! We each ordered an omelette with hash browns... they were so big that we really could've shared one.

Name: Southern Shores Eats & Drink - Promise but no delivery Location: Foley, AL Date: 11-15-24 Overall Rating (1-10): 4 Review by My Out n About - Robert and Sheila Henley This review and related comments are based on our personal experience at the business discussed and are not endorsed or solicited by the individual business. Your experience will differ. myoutnabout.com myoutnabout@gmail.com FB - https://www.facebook.com/groups/myoutnabout Description: A coastal looking restaurant located in Downtown Foley. This is a medium sized restaurant with cheerful coloring and nicely spaced seating. In addition to the food side of things they have a specialty coffee counter, a full bar and an arcade with video games and a pool table. We went there for breakfast and decided to try the buffet that we saw advertised for $9 for a one trip plate. Usually we don't eat buffets because we can't eat enough food to justify the price, but at $9 bucks why not. Man what a mistake. The buffet was pretty limited with Link and Patty sausage, Grits, Cheese Scrambled Eggs, Biscuits, Sausage Gravy, Hashbrown Casserole and French Toast Sticks. Bacon is available if you know to request it. Well, let's start with the eggs. This was the worst pile of what I think were carton/powdered eggs with I'm not sure what kind of cheese mixed in. The texture was all wrong and the flavor was...something. The grits were very dry and had some kind of seasoning that I could not recognize, but it was not good. The biscuits were dry and hard. The sausage patties were right out of a food service box and tasted like the free ones you get at a Fairfield Inn. The sausage likes were okay. They were bland in flavor but just okay. The Sausage Gravy had a decent flavor but needed a little pepper cooked in as well as some additional sausage. We did ask for the bacon and it was a smokey thick cut bacon with large slices. Very good. The staff was good. Very attentive when we came in and checked in on us. We kept waiting to check out and assuming maybe we pay up front got up to go to the counter when we saw what the problem was. The young lady that was waiting on us was making specialty coffees for some millennials. This is why I hate places that make all the flavored coffees. It ties up the staff for a very long time. Finally about 10 minutes into the wait, she freed up and checked us out. Low an behold, our buffet was not the advertised $9 per person it was $14 per person. When I mentioned the difference the young lady in whatever her role was, said the owner decided to go up on the price. Bottom Line: Do NOT waste your time or money on this places buffet. The buffet food, other than the bacon is subpar. They do have a large menu you can order from, but don't get anything that is not a cracked egg meal. Customer acrylic table by Mark's wife and daughter.

Southern shores is a feast for the eyes and a savory delight for the pallete. I was awestruck by the spacious, light-filled entryway and the gorgeous acrylic table tops that accented the dining room. The hand brushed and painted clapboard walls had a charming nautical appeal. Mark's daughter and wife beautiful work. The medium roast Black & Tan single-origin Colombia coffee was off the hook. It was board without being prance, and held up well under my dollop of heavy cream. Julia recommended the spicy chorizo omelette with two strips of bacon and hash browns. The omelette is well seasoned and cooked and bulging with chorizo. My hash brown were crispy, just as I requested. Their bacon is special in the flavor kingdom. Overall this was a delightful visual and culinary experience. I would come back just for the coffee and the friendly service. Thank you Julia for the menu recommendation and for keeping my cup full of hot coffee. Madyson was a charming host.

Really cool indoor space that you could miss as it doesn't look like much from outside. Love the unique decor and tables etc. also a cool game areas with pool table and old retro video games. Food was not really anything special. The staff were very friendly. Seems like more of a breakfast place and even have a breakfast buffet sometimes.

Amazing local restaurant! Food decent and Bloody Mary delish! Skip the chain restaurants and shop local!

Over the years we have seen a steady decline in the upkeep of the restaurant, the service staff checking on customers and the food quality. The one item that has gone up exponentially is the cost of everything on the menu. We have continued to spend money here out of some false sense of nostalgia in hopes to see this place rebound. The picture I have included is a broken dish our food was served in. Luckily it was noticed before anyone in our party cut their hands on the protruding shards. The only reason I am giving this review 3 stars is because the live music performance by The Heat at the time we stopped in kept us there. I highly recommend looking them up and planning a night out to see them.

Amazing Place!! If…read moreyou're looking for great Italian food, Gelato Joe's is a must! Our server (John) was fantastic. I ordered Joes Lasagna and it was so delicious. I selected the strawberry salad which was also terrific. Our family loved this place. For dessert, they had a dozen plus flavors of gelatos and pastries. We also tried their cannolis. There was one chocolate dipped cannoli left and I fully believe no cannoli should be left alone. If you've never had a chocolate dipped cannoli in your life, you'll experience the same life changed moment I went through after taking my first bite. If you're in Foley or nearby, this is the place to eat at if you're in the mood for Italian food. It was worth every penny we spent.
