We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

It's a large warehouse style store with bulk bags of almost everything for almost every animal. They have birdseed, horse feed, wood chips, hay, and other supplies of every sort. They have an old country store feel, complete with a shelf of assorted jams and sauces for sale. I love their convenience, right up from Ellicott City's Main Street (the same road technically) and close to the Route 40/29 interchange. You can browse around the place, but I've never done anything more than walk up to the counter, describe what I need, pay for it and momentarily someone wheels it out and loads it into my car. I do have to deduct a star for their banker's hours. They close at five on weekdays and are not open on Sundays, so you have to plan your trips accordingly.

We got so many stories that I'm not sure what actually transpired at this point. At one point, they said they delivered them (after they told us they didn't deliver to the area) but were told there was no delivery and they couldn't provide a name or signature. They also told us there were other vendors we should blame, yet their email and address was on the paperwork. It was very embarrassing and to miss on such an important event as a funeral is not acceptable. The flowers that were ordered through the funeral director were delivered and very mediocre at best.
