After a few hours, we called to check in to see the status of the grooming appointment. He mentioned that she had to "air dry" because she didn't like the handheld dog hair dryer. He mentioned it would take another hour. An hour passed so we decided to show up and we are thankful we showed up at the exact moment in time to witness what no dog owner should ever witness. My gf walked in to hear a lot of thumping and F-bombs coming from the man. She quickly rushed to call me to help. She imagined he was abusing a dog behind closed doors. She could hear loud whining and the sound of nails clicking on a metal table. As I walked in, the thumping had resided and I heard the door knob turn to watch him with a "oh sh**" face realizing we had just witnessed everything. His explanation was lackluster. "Has she been in an accident, she kept turning and pushing me." He said that he had been hurt by the dog and she had kicked him into the wall. My gf mentioned that the way he was talking to her was not acceptable. Lady came running out and he mentioned he would give our $ back after witnessing the event. What questions go through your head? First off, what other dogs has he done this to? The dogs are truly at the mercy of the groomers and the treatment she received was troubling. We also noticed she didn't get any water to drink the entire 4 hours she was there. How do we know this? We live nearby and we gave her water before. She arrived at home and went straight for the water bowl which she never does. Read the other negative reviews before thinking of taking your animal here. We found our Lady on the streets of San Antonio. She had signs of abuse which has altered her movements around the hips. The lack in care and consideration for the pet's past is alarming when you read the positive reviews.

Ms Karen without a doubt is an expert in this field!!! Ms Karen has a huge heart, throughly explained what was going on with the coat, (since our prior groomer we found did not know what she was doing and luckily did not ruin his coat), and welcomed us and made my pup feel comfortable and loved! I thought I was getting my dog a bath, nail reduction (with dremel tool) and gland expression (which cost 10 dollars more) out the door for about $50. Again, more than I had usually found for the basics. To my surprise, when I went to check out they decided to charge me over $20 for additional brushing they had to do for heavy shedding. Ugh, folks, I've gone to groomers with this dog for the last 8 years, in two counties, and never had someone throw that one at me as not being part of the bathing process, especially since we already had an agreed upon price for Polished Pups services. I have no complaint about their work; however, having been a contractor for 40 years, before I retired, I know you don't switch prices on a client at the end of a job...especially with no warning or discussion before you throw a new charge at them. I won't return to this business, not because of poor work, but because of poor business practices. I was just glad to get out the door with my dog and leave Polished Pups in the dust.

I decided to try this place out and scheduled a grooming appointment in advance for my two dogs (2…read moreyorkies). I dropped them off at 9am. The woman in the front said I would receive a call at 1 to pick them up. This is pretty standard when I groom them so no problem. It was a little after 1 and I never heard from them so I called to check. She said the groomer said they would be ready at 4! When I asked what has been done in the 4 hours... she said they were "bathed and brushed". I told her I'm not having my dogs sit there all day and to not touch them and I picked them up. When I arrived the receptionist told me "we are only going to charge you for the bath and groom" well that was all that was done! On top of That it was a little over $60! I asked for an itemized receipt and of course they couldn't provide one. I was beyond frustrated because now I have to pay again to actually get them groomed in a timely manner! She tried to get an attitude and give an excuse that "we need to take breaks too". Needless to say, I will never be returning here. Unprofessional and lame excuses. I asked them to take some of the length off the hair and some of the bulk out (they are double coated). What I got back was a dog that had essentially been shaved down to about an inch from head to toe, all except his tail which is still fluffy. It looks horrid. I would expect that a groomer would give a collie a collie style silhouette cut, not shave the dog all over. Unfortunately you can't put the hair back. By the way, this disaster cost me 81.00, and I am pretty sure they didn't even do a shed out brushing after his bath. Worst groomer experience I have had.
