The young lady behind the counter was super sweet and made us feel welcome. Ice cream was yummy and the place is adorable. We will be back.

Amazing!! But. Price is a bit high. I ordered the grilled cheese on croissant and the amount of melted cheese could no be beat! An included devil egg side and a hot brownie sundae with fudge ended a great lunch. If you're in the area stop and get a bite or pick one of their many ice creams to just cool off and visit beautiful waterfront Beaufort, SC.

Southern Sweets Ice Cream & Sandwich Shop on Bay Street in Beaufort is a great place to go for all things sweets and ice cream all in one place. I really like the relaxed and laid back atmosphere here that allows you to really enjoy everything. The staff here is very attentive and they work hard to make sure that you have everything that you need. They are definitely worth checking out for a good treat.

Old fashioned ice-cream parlor offering mouth watering classics like milkshakes, cone sundaes, fudge and home-made pralines! Yummy, yummy! Lana wanted ice-cream and I was hungry. Didn't want to spend lots of money on the waterfront restaurants (where food is OK but you really pay for the view - spectacular indeed). So we stopped at Southern Sweets Parlor and we loved it! As soon as we entered the place felt right at home. They have soups, sandwiches, salads and of course sweets. By far their signature dish is the DOGS! They have about 6 varieties from All American to Cha Cha Chili with more than 10 toppings choices. I got the sauerkraut dog and Lana got the kid cheese toast and the ice-cream cone...paid ~$8 for all. The cafe is located downtown right at the entrance to Marketplace shopping area.

Beautiful old time ice cream parlor, and the BEST ICE CREAM in Beaufort. Unbelievably reasonable prices. Sandwiches are also terrific - try the LT DAN!! Set back from Bay Street a little (inside the Old Bay Market Place) so look for the movable signs on the sidewalk. Well worth a try if you are visiting town like I was today. If I were a local, I would eat here all the time.

Two cones $6, black cherry and strawberry just as you remember as a kid. One of the few places open on Sunday!

Nothing special. Disappointed in the snickerdoodle ice cream sandwich. Cookies were hard and ice cream was sub par.

We love trying local ice cream when we travel. I was so happy to stumble upon the famous and…read morehistoric Leopold's. We stopped in at 11 am on a Tuesday so missed the crowds that started coming in a bit later. The staff was so nice, talking about the different ice cream flavors and making recommendations. I must have sampled at least 6 flavors before settling on Blueberry cheesecake. It was a close call between that and peach. But the large size to get two flavors was huge! I got a child size. My son got coconut and pistachio. The coconut was some of the best I've ever tasted. It's one of my favorite flavors. If you're a history or movie buff you will love the story of Leopold's and the Hollywood-inspired decor and movie posters. Definitely worth a stop!

We had been shopping on Broughton street all day and were parked right in front of Leopold's (paid parking, $2.50 an hour). There were a lot of times when there wasn't a line but by the time we decided to go, I guess everyone else did as well. Fortunately it moved very quickly. It was a bit chaotic but the employee were constantly saying, I'll help who's next, and the line got a little messed up but there didn't seem to be any complaints. My mom and sister got one scoop cones, my brother got a milkshake, and I got a brownie sundae...with Savannah Socialite. So, SO GOOD...but serious sugar coma! Next time I'll just get a regular sundae or share with someone! It was $38 for the four of us but if you think of it as an experience, I believe it's worth it. There is also limited seating inside (it was too hot that day to sit outside but some people were doing it!) But people rotated quickly and we had no trouble securing a table. We were all scrunched together but no one seemed to mind...I guess everyone was happy with their ice cream!
