March/April 2026. Visiting hospitals, working in, being in hospitals, visiting family and friends,…read morethis is the most inefficient, absolutely, chaotic, irresponsible, location. My brother in law felt he was ignored. My niece and my husband, -----were consistently given conflicting, wrong or bad information...his daughter received complicated, convoluted, evasive, and incomplete information. He was in the hospital over two + weeks and the day they decided to release him!!!!!!! is the day they decided to put a stent in his heart. Put a catheter up his penis. He kept saying to his daughter, " what is this in my penis should I pull it out"? Did nobody explain anything to him? the patient who was suffering from too much time in the hospital? Seemingly NO. His daughter told him not to pull anything out!! that maybe somebody would explain to him why it was there? how long it had to be there? and why he was so uncomfortable? and what he should do and what he shouldn't do? Wouldn't that make sense? If the patient's family knew what was happening; explain that to the patient? such as why he had some tubes coming out of his penis? We guess they couldn't be bothered. Why should they tell the patient what's going on? With phone calls to the charge nurse-----we'd get put on hold for 20 minutes and nobody would answer. Then someone would just hang up on us. My niece was there to support and take care of her father. SHE EMPHATICALLY said don't do surgery unless I'm there to talk to him forehand to .... and see him kiss him and re-explain it..... Then when she showed up at 7:00am (after the staff jerked her around for two weeks) telling her they didn't know if he could survive surgery, doing test after test, after test.... They said they could not operate and that they were releasing him. Then...we're not releasing him. Yes, releasing him. We're not releasing him. And the morning that she had to fly home....... he was already in surgery! WHAT? He was already in surgery! His family right there and they were not told beforehand. HA! again. how foolish to think that that might be one of the requirements. He's already in surgery without her having given permission! She was not OK with that! PERFECT NIGHTMARE DOUBLE TALK: Miraculously he survived. The stress for his daughter, the casual disrespect was horrendous. There's a RESPONSIBILITY of a hospital based in the US--- that any person speaking English, working in the role as a medical, healthcare professional, SHOULD be able to communicate efficiently, It was difficult to understand some of the people on the phone. So if you wanna bring somebody there, to get sub-standard treatment ever, in such a chaotic environment---- if you bring them there; ask yourself "why there"? This is exactly a perfect example of the degradation of the USA healthcare system. SO____Anybody reading this in need of care, consider going elsewhere. Wow, what a draining, frustrating experience of having a sick family member and suffering from the lack of professional responding. If I could give it a zero rating I would because that's what it deserves. In fact a MINUS rating!....and if anybody in the administration or on staff reads this, realize you play a part of a debacle. A DISGRACE to say the least! An endeavor of compounded distress provoking terrific anxiety. The scant communication style contributes to more uncertainty and emotional fear and confusion...eroding the well being of the patient and their loved ones. I rate this hospital: MINUS ONE STAR.

I'm so upset after reading a review about Dr Lamelas (the only one with 2 stars )…read more "As a first time patient, he did not even take the time to thoroughly listen to why I was there. the actual visit took 3 minutes in total" Listen. This doctor is a GENIUS! . He doesn't need to listen to your whole history as he already reviewed your case before he is the magician who fixes your heart through a 5 cm incision. Dr Lamelas was to the point during my dad's first appointment . Honest in answering my questions, showed concern and gave my dad reassurance. We didn't need a 30 minute appointment. He knew everything about my dad condition already. He took the time to talk to me after the surgery and explained everything he did. He visited my dad every single day (including Saturday and Sunday) My dad had a mitral valve replacement, a maze procedure and a Right atrial appendage removal. He did all this in 3 hours ! My dad is recovering much better than when he had other less complicated surgeries. We are very grateful and we pray for Dr Lamelas every day for him to live a long and healthy life so he can continue helping others. God gave him a gift and the world needs him. Amarilis González was very helpful with all the instructions before surgery. She even answered my emails at 10:00 pm. Very impressive ! His nurses at cardiac ICU (Ana, Andros) and at cardiac step down ( I can't remember his name ) were amazing , knowledgeable and caring. Thank you all !

We are in a terrible situation--in the best country in the world, supposedly home to the best…read moredoctors and treatments, and at one of Florida's supposedly best hospitals. Yet, there is a doctor here--and I even doubt he is a doctor, given his inhumane, arrogant, and disrespectful behavior toward patients; he even tells you to your face to file a complaint with your insurance or whomever you please. From the very first day my sister--who has advanced-stage cancer--set foot in the PH12 unit, she has been mistreated by this man who calls himself a doctor and supposedly holds a high rank: the so-called Doctor Michael Rodríguez. Between Friday and Saturday, he stopped my sister's pain medication; she spent the entire night in pain, unable to sleep, and no one could do anything for her. Early Saturday morning, when the oncologists and administrators arrived, this Michael Rodríguez acted like an angel in front of them. Today, Sunday, he is discharging my sister even though she is unwell, and he is doing so without any discharge appointments scheduled because it is Sunday and the person who handles that isn't in. Furthermore, this Michael Rodríguez--who claims to be a physician--mistreated my sister's husband when he questioned why they couldn't wait until tomorrow so she could leave with her appointments scheduled; Rodríguez simply said he had to leave and claimed he had wanted to discharge her since Thursday. I can only imagine that this Michael Rodríguez must be the sole owner of the hospital to wield such power and show such disregard for a cancer patient. If it were up to me, my sister would never set foot in that slaughterhouse again. In my previous review, I noted that in the two units where she stayed previously, the treatment from doctors, nurses, and assistants was excellent and considerate toward a patient who had just learned she had cancer. However, since arriving in this PH unit, it has been a nightmare due to the mistreatment by this Michael Rodríguez--though I hope that, despite being such a terrible person, he never has to endure the anguish of having a family member with cancer. As for the nurses, aides, and the rest of the staff, the care couldn't have been better; it is shameful that a person like this... Mr. Michael Rodríguez really brings this hospital down; I'd like to think he's just following orders to act like such an unpleasant person. I didn't mention his name in my previous comment out of a shred of respect. Please don't reply to this review by asking me to call or email you--that's just a meaningless, automated response so the administration can pretend they're actually addressing the feedback. As I said before, my sister is battling cancer--a diagnosis she received just three weeks ago. It's been incredibly hard; she's a mother who wants to see her son grow up, and her health insurance is covering her hospital stay. You people are absolute shit--and that PH ward is the worst of it.
