DO NOT BUY We paid a small fortune for a F1 mini goldendoodle. We just had her DNA tested and she IS NOT JUST POODLE/GOLDEN RETRIEVER. She is a MUTT mixed with various things. The Embark veterinarian also reached out as she has both copies of a recessive gene causing early blindness (PRCD) and both copies causing back issues (meaning both parents were carriers). She also inherited one copy of another disease (meaning she is a carrier). They are definitely not testing their breeding stock or selling healthy dogs. I suspect this is a puppy mill and not selling what they claim. read more

I would give this place a 0 if I could. Definitely a front for a puppy mill. The puppies are completely un-socialized. Don't expect to see where they are being kept or the parents of the puppies. The one puppy I met was covered in poop and whined the entire time like it was the first time it met another human. Where they keep the puppies is "off-limits" to potential puppy parents. I just worry for the dogs that are being kept there. read more

Our puppy had hook worms when we got him home resulting in bloody diarrhea. They said he was partially crate trained and he was not at all. We got a puppy 5 weeks before from a different breeder and this experience was by far less professional and it seems obvious the puppies are not as well taken care of. We picked up our new golden doodle Monday. The process was really simple, we got a reminder of when he was going to be ready to pick up with a time and day. We got a great checklist of what we would need prior to getting our new puppy, and information on a health program and when he would need his next set of vaccinations. We were able to use Venmo to pay the balance when we got there and my daughter got to choose from the 4 puppies available. Hardest decision of all, they were all so stinking cute and full of life and personality. Now we are the proud owners of a sweet boy golden doodle named Paul Anka . Paul Anka has adjusted really well to his new home, crate training and even figured out how to take his toys out the doggie door. Southland is a great place to get a puppy. We picked up our adorable, loving F1B Goldendoodle in August and love her so much that we decided to get her brother from Southland Puppies as well. The communication has been easy and they kept us updated throughout the entire process. They have been very upfront about their policies, and our golden doodle Shelby is the sweetest little pup, everyone that meets her falls in love. Seemed fine but trust your gut with the website!! Definitely a puppy Mill! I got one of my dogs from them and he had blood in his poop a week after getting him. A few other health issues. My friend also got a dog from their and she had bloody diarrhea the second she got home. Terrible socialization done with these dogs and clearly a lack of care. I asked to see another dog and they told me they "couldn't find him" ??? Makes no sense. Clearly they are filthy unless going home. Disappointed but more sad for these dogs. read more

At first I wasn't totally sure they were legit but we put the $200 deposit down and someone contacted me the next day to do an interview to make sure our pick would match us. We arranged pick-up 2 weeks later and they sent us all the information we would need and photos of our pup. It is a winding drive in the country but once you are there they have a nice set-up. He brought Oliver out to us and let us have some bonding time before getting the paperwork finished. Ollie is the best dog I've ever had. The puppy is darling but she came home with a bacterial infections and I have spent weeks and hundreds$ trying to fix . Now my other dog has it too. Vet suggests came from kennel and probably puppy shots were home administered and not what they should have been I spent a lot just flying her from Texas to Florida too. So if you think you are saving by buying from them, think again. No monetary saving not to mention time and stress. And I can't exactly go to them for a replacement! read more

We just adopted the most precious mini bernedoodle now know as Elio. The experience was easy. Melody answered all our questions before picking him up. Once we got to pick him up, the Family helped us look and play with multiple puppies to see which was the best choice. They told us about their coats, and who will shed more. Once picked, they bathed Elio, and gave us a take home basket of goodies and all the paper work we need for the vet and microchip. Elio has become a part of our family very easily. These people are unscrupulous con persons. They advertised a mini golden doodle which would weigh approximately 20 to 25 pounds at maturity. When we picked up our dog, we left a check for the company. The owner contacted us and asked for a check to him personally. So we complied and he promised to overnight the first check back. We never got it. He did offer a discount because of confusion. Then about 2 months later our bank advised us that the check we had first sent was washed and presented to a financial institution for $4,400 +. Fortunately it was denied by our bank, but we had to close the account and go through a lot of trouble to start a new checking account. Don't do business with these people! Our dog is not mini as advertised and weighs 30 pounds at 10 months. read more

This is 100% a puppy mill, do not buy from here. I got my mini Berne doodle from them back in 2020 (luckily he is healthy but that does not take away from the fact that this is a shady business). I love my dog but I wish he came from more responsible breeders. Like other reviewers have said, you do not get access to where the puppies are kept, nor do you get to meet the puppy parents. When I went to pick up my pup the owners were out of town and when we tried to approach the kennel that was full of a bunch of puppies and adult dogs we were told not to go near there. I also had made the check out to the company and was told I needed to resend a check made out to the individual, which I thought was odd. I told them I would need to wait the 90 days for the original check to be void (standard for cashiers checks) and they threatened to come and pick up my dog because they had my address from my drivers license. Wanting to avoid conflict I complied but this was not OK. Unfortunately, as far as my understanding, they aren't doing anything illegal so I couldn't do anything on my end but please do yourself a favor and avoid this "company" - it's exploitative to say the least. read more

I agree with the negative reviews here. I put a deposit down on a puppy, which was a weird process as I never actually talked to anyone first. I had to reach out myself to get more information. I thought that the website seemed weird, since it seemed like there were lots of puppies available with different parents, I think I counted 20 unique parents at some point, and there is no information about the parents on the site unlike most reputable breeders. A few days after I put down the deposit, the price went down $500 on the website (and I wasn't told about this)...this is a very unusual practice for reputable breeders to be changing prices, which concerned me. I finally pulled the plug when one day I saw 9 brand new puppies on the website ready for adoption THAT DAY. This is NOT normal practice from reputable breeders. How do they randomly have a whole new litter available? The availability of puppies on their site changes constantly, trust me I know because I checked multiple times a day for weeks! After this, I found this yelp page and my suspicions grew only stronger. I strongly believe that this is a puppy mill and feel very bad for the dogs here. read more

We bought a puppy from them in December 2020. They are located out in the middle of nowhere the owner met us on their dirt driveway and would not let us see the parents of our pups or the area they are kept in. After a number of substantial clues and also seeing litter after litter of pups on their site, with the ability to add them to your cart like shopping on Amazon, we were convinced we inadvertently bought our pups from a puppy mill. Fast forward a few months, our dogs were diagnosed with FMO, Femoral Head Necrosis, a 100% genetic defect inherited from one of the parents. Our vet told us to contact the breeders immediately to inform them to stop breeding from that genetic line, which we did. They never ever responded. We also informed them that we are having to pay for thousands of dollars of surgery and even though we were still under their genetic health warranty period we were not seeking compensation but just a promise they would stop breeding from that line. Our main priority was to ensure that their future litters of puppies will not have to endure extreme pain & discomfort, surgery, and potential loss of limb. But nothing from them! What reputable "breeder" does that? If you go on their website and count up the sheer numbers of sires and dams combinations and the vast number of litters, it becomes very clear they are operating an unethical business! DO NOT be lured by the convenient availability and lower prices, you will be supporting a well disguised puppy mill that produces dogs with severe genetic defects. read more

I bought a puppy from these people, and she had severe bloody diarrhea. I stopped payment on my check, and was going to take the puppy to a vet and issue another check if she was ok. The owner called and demanded I return the puppy. At the time I bought the puppy, she was supposedly the last one, but then they said they had a couple that were not advertised. When I asked why they were not advertised, the owner stated that he didn't like to "clog" up his web page. Two days later I saw 5 more puppies for sale on puppy at this breeder's site. I am unsure as to why there are a few current negative reviews. We are out of Frisco Texas and the process worked very well for us. Yes they have a add to your cart system tied to their website which I thought was good for me as far as ease of use. Additionally their website list they they sell other breeder's pups thus why they add a litter all of a sudden. They also lower the price of the pups that stay with them longer. If you study their website and the reviews and text, email and or speak with them, the process and information is not tough to know upfront. We acquired a very sweet and loving F1B goldendoodle from Southland puppies. The price was less than many other breeders and the red color was just what we wanted. It appears that their price is less because they are in the middle of nowhere thus their overhead is less. We are very happy with our puppy that is now 5 months old. Yes we had some diarrhea shortly after we took her home. The "baby" is going through a lot of changes and about a month after we had her home we also found that she had a mild case of a parasite that is very common as we has her in NYC for a few week and it was taken care of with the minimum dose of the medication. These things happen with any living creature including pets and humans and is to be expected. Again we are very please and would visit Southland again when we desire to add another pet. read more
