My small Shiba Inu dog - Mickey - just loves both of them - Bella and Justin. Mickey feels sad when he stays home. If I need any professional advice - Bella is the best "doctor" and the best friend - she knows everything about dogs. I do have a peace of mind knowing my dog is being well cared and loved when I am away. Thank you Bella for being such a fabulous and responsible person with our doggies

He is anxious, and there were times he did not play appropriately with smaller dogs (he had too much energy, and he does not always recognize/respond to the other dog's body language of "please give me space." They gave me great feedback on how he was doing, but his trainer and I decided that daycare for my anxious dog would not let him be "his best self." I then transitioned him to their Woofer Walker Munchkin March pack walks, which is a much better fit for him. He gets to socialize with the other dogs in the pack walk, run himself silly, and sniff everything (animate and inanimate). Obi would walk over my dead body to get to Woofer Walker Judy! He is so excited when it is Woofer Walker day that he waits by the front door, staring at it until he hears the van pull up, and then loses his mind. Judy is very patient with his excitement. They let me know which days would be the best fit for him regarding the other dogs' personalities and play styles, so he goes every Tuesday and Thursday. They also post videos of some of the highlights of the walks and post pictures - it is the highlight of our evening to watch the videos! I've downloaded some of the images since they are great shots!

Although I've often thought of writing a review, I never got around to it but when I picked Angus up yesterday, I knew I had to tell anyone looking for a doggie daycare, what a special place the Doghouse is and how wonderful & caring the people who work there are. You can expect your doggie to have walks, play and cuddles, but on occasions like Halloween, you can expect the staff to go above and beyond and add another layer of fun to the day. My Wee Angus really loves coming here. I really appreciate the environment Christine (manager), Laura and Jenna have created for the doggies & the positive work environment they seem to have with each other. This is a great place for small dogs and I'd highly recommend it if you're looking for a daycare for your small doggie.

Every visit the first year he gained confidence, he has best friends, human and of course many dog buddies. Check out Instagarm and you will see Markus and all the dogs. He is so happy to attend and gets excited when we are a block away. The staff truly love the dogs and interact with them. When we pick him up we get updates, lately Markus is going on longer walks which is awesome. He is ready for quiet hang out time at the end of the day, having walked, played, napped and snacked. Staff never force him to walk, some days he is more quiet and just wants his pee breaks and short walks, other days he leads the pack. We reccomend The Doghouse 100% !

Wowie. Where to begin! We have been taking our dog here for years, and he loves the staff here just…read moreas much as day one. We have used both the daycare and boarding services with no issues at all, staff are very detail oriented, handle medication administration with such professionalism and our dog always comes back in great condition. Staff: The team here is responsive, responsible and always friendly. They have accommodated our many detailed requests in terms of medications, and feeding our dog. They are so patient as we are always experimenting with weird things like adding probiotics/different cooked food mixes, toppers etc. they label everything, and even return containers cleaned! Picture updates are provided (although I wish there were some videos because we are so curious what our doggo gets up to while we are away). Honestly we have never had a bad interaction with anyone on the team. Space: They do split dogs between larger sized breeds and smaller, and the space is absolutely gorgeous, clearly designed with dogs in mind. Take a tour and see for yourself! Dogs are not left alone overnight. There is staff at all times and this was a big draw for why we chose Rex for boarding. There is also outdoor space complete with water activities and things to play with- again another reason we chose Rex. it can be difficult to find a daycare that offers outdoor space in Vancouver! It is also worth mentioning my doggo has never been returned to us with any cleanliness issues. I will note if your dog doesnt like sleeping in an open group environment you might need to pay a bit more for a more private sleeping format. Pricing:Pricing has always been very transparent. You can look on the website and find it listed clearly. I think it's comparable to similar facilities. There are some surcharges for boarding at peak times (ie. $15/night for Christmas) but I think thats understandable. In addition there are fees for medication administration (5 bucks/day) and a deposit (that goes towards your booking) to reserve boarding over stat holidays, but these have always been clear upfront, and staff are responsive to emails/happy to provide quotes before booking so you know exactly what to expect. We don't find the pricing to be unreasonable or ever a surprise although we haven't jumped on the daycare club card discount they offer ($390 for 10 full days) just because it can be lot up of upfront cost for a total 10 dollar discount minimum. However, it's worth noting club cards have no expiry and are totally refundable and likely make sense for other people who maybe take their doggo more regularly than us. Honestly, we once bought a half day card and totally forgot we had it! We were reminded by diligent staff! Most importantly:When we bring our doggo he is always excited and just immediately runs to the staff who are there to greet him. We think he truly adores the staff and his furry friends at Rex. We honestly have no complaints! I'm sure each dog is different so we can only speak to our own experience, but Rex has been great for us so far. If you are considering this place I'd say you really have got nothing to lose checking them out!

The owner is rude to her employees, and they use methods such as shaking change in metal jars directly in the dog's ears until they are scared of the workers as a way to make them stop barking. They will also yell very, very harshly at them almost constantly. The reason why I don't work there is because I refused to take part in that. They will also put up to 25 dogs of all sizes and temperaments in one van for the daily beach walk, which exceeds the legal limit and results in the dogs getting in fights with each other. Again, as someone who worked there, please do not leave your beloved animal there. Your dog will be sad all day and will not get enough attention nor be treated appropriately. At first glance, it seems like a great environment, hence why I worked there. But your dog will only be let out once, and in the group photos they send, it's likely your dog won't even be in the picture. They use very outdated training methods, and it was incredibly hard for me to work there. Leaving your dog there is the equivalent of leaving your dog at an animal shelter.

It's not often that I leave reviews for businesses that I've interacted with unless they are truly…read moreoutstanding but in this case I thought it important that pet owners considering using Noelle's service, in particular the daycare, have a well-rounded picture. I have two dogs and recently moved to the City. I enrolled one of my dogs in her daycare because the other one was highly anxious and could come with me to work. Both of my dogs have been attending daycare for years without issue. The younger one, which I enrolled, passed the intake exam and full daycare day without issue. He can be difficult at times because he doesn't know his size and can be bossy. I signed him up for the beach walks because when I saw the facility it looked to be just a large warehouse and I knew my dog would want outside time. The dogs are mostly let off leash during these walks but I noticed that mine was only let off the first time and not again. I had warned them that his recall was not great so I figured maybe they were working on that (given your pet is supposed to receive recall and other basic training while enrolled at daycare). When I met Noelle finally (on a day when her dad was off and she was supervising pick up) she told me that she would only let him off when the tide was out because it gave him more room to run. Fair enough. However I never saw him off leash. We worked on the training videos she sent, each day, diligently. I wasn't receiving other feedback until I was told that my dog had a bad reaction to another dog but that the other dog had been asked to leave the daycare. I was pretty surprised that the other dog was asked to leave just like that but was told there had been some "other issues". The next day, my dog was the one to be kicked out for going after another dog. I was told that Noelle or Vincent would be in touch to explain further but just like that I no longer had a spot. I had been exchanging emails with Noelle up to this point because I noticed my dog exhibiting aggressive behaviour at home towards my other dog, something he had never done. She recommended I hire their behaviourist, Sandy. I spent a little over $1100 to hire her. When Noelle reached out following up on an invoice, I told her that I was disappointed to have not heard from her after we were asked to leave the daycare. That I felt that for the amount I was paying ($55/day and that was only because there was a promo rate) I expected to receive a bit more feedback, further, my dog never seemed to be allowed off leash. Well she responded quite rudely saying that my dog had repeated events of bad behaviour and that he would never change. This was news to me given I had not received any kind of feedback like this before. Also for herto tell me my dog would never change was surprising - why then had I hired her colleague, the behaviourist for $1100? All in all, after having enrolled my dogs in daycare across three provinces, I have never had such a bad experience as I had with this one. It is very overpriced for what you get. If you are bringing a dog under 1-year then it might be great, and you might receive more bang for your buck but apparently my three-year old was way past help. Luckily we've since found another daycare, where my dog comes home happy each day, the aggression has totally stopped and I receive honest and fulsome feedback. As someone that puts themselves out there as an experienced trainer, it's extremely disappointing for her to refer to any dog as "beyond help" and refer to their behaviour as "never going to change".
