The Southpark Meadows play area is pretty entertaining for the kids, my two boys have a blast while we are there. It's conviently located in the middle of numerous restaraunts/bars/food joints like Waterloo, Amy's Ice Cream, Third Base, Jason's, Mama Fu's etc. It's nice to be able to take the kids to grab ice cream and let them run off the sugar at the playground. There is one major downside and my reason for 3 stars is the mulch; or the lack there-of. Due to rain and weather the mulch has shifted so the slide has practically a 2-ft drop and the playground itself is at a huge slant, which is difficult for the little guys to not eat it when they're running around. For whatever reason they designed with mulch, they should have accounted for the up-keep which they aren't actively participating in. It's difficult for a toddler much less a 6 year old to get up the stairs due to the huge gap from mulch to the first step. Another positive: check it out during the holiday season(s) there's usually something festive going on, (meet and great with Santa) on the stage as well they have a in-ground sprinkler for a little water fun in the scorching sun.

Stretching along Shoal Creek, the park offers a mix of shaded walking and biking trails, open lawns, and beautifully restored natural areas. It is hard to believe when you are in the park that you are in the heart of central Austin. The park is especially family friendly, with a large playground, splash pad, treehouse style observation area, and plenty of seating. While we were at the park a school was hosting a picnic for its students. The northern portion of the park is even more quiet and scenic, with winding trails, limestone bluffs, and creek views. It's a great area for dog walks, leisurely strolls, picnics, workouts, or just relaxing under the trees. The park is well maintained and welcoming to all ages. This park is very special.

The stream nearby adds a peaceful touch, and the overall design of the park feels really intentional and creative. Kids will go crazy for the massive playground and all the interactive installations. The hanging net sphere is a must, you can lie inside and bounce around, and honestly the adults were just as into it as the little ones. There are also food vendors including ice cream, so you can easily spend a whole afternoon here. One of the most well-done parks I've been to. Highly recommend.

This place was honestly so cool. The peacocks free roam so it's important to be mindful where walking, and especially important to watch in their small parking lot as the birds wander into there as well. With that being said, there are no dogs allowed. We walked around the grounds a bit trying to find more birds. There's benches to sit, nice little water ponds to see, and a little trail as well. Would definitely advise going with closed toed shoes if you're planning to walk the trail. It's not really stroller friendly as there are branches and rocks scattered all along the path. I would definitely come back here, should I find myself back down in Austin. Such a wholesome and peaceful place!

Extremely well maintained and cared for. It's also a place my sisters like to visit when they're in town to see me.

My nephew was extremely excited!!I noticed that everything was thoroughly thought out. The entrance gate is slightly heavy (two to pass through. Other area were the same (heavy gates to prevent kids from entering the paved areas without permission & help. There were several areas to play: sensory areas, sand box (large), agility, strength training for the littles, and a cute township area where kids can ride (provided mini bikes) bikes or scooters in the "city". The imagination stations were adorable. Most areas were covered well. They had several restrooms and water stations. Seating for birthdays and such. I didn't have time to take pictures. But it's true to the website. I highly recommend it!

There is a fence completely surrounding the park and there is a gate to go in and out of which has the handles high enough that a child could not open that gate. There was a lot of thought put into this park. They have wonderful learning areas such as they have an area all about music; This was definitely a favorite place. There are chimes to sound and drums to play, The children really enjoyed this area. They had a zip line made for children. My four-year-old granddaughter was enjoying it and after her, some 13-year-olds were enjoying it. It's very well-made, very safe and very fun. They have a shopping area for them to pretend -- along with their own personal H-E-B! My granddaughter really enjoyed pretending to shop. I think that's a secret word here, there's a lot of pretending going on here! I highly recommend this park. It's important to know that animals are not allowed unless it's a service animal. There's a lot of kids running and yelling and playing and laughing. This is not the place for you if you're going to a park to read a book. This is definitely a great place for children or for parents to play with their children. I highly recommend you visit.
