Instead of basic customer service, I was met with attitude, irritation, and eventually being called "bro" and spoken to disrespectfully in front of other people. I work in service myself, so I'm usually very understanding, but this experience completely killed the vibe of the night. If you're going to charge upscale lounge prices, the staff should know how to treat customers professionally instead of acting annoyed that someone wants their order made correctly.

They have a tiny parking lot which is OK for smaller shows, but they will charge you $20 to park at bigger shows like Juvenile tonight or Psych Fest. The only other parking option is in the residential streets about 5 minutes walk down the road. But I feel extremely bad for the people in those homes who were there before this venue started doing big concerts. With that said...it used to be a cool little bar with a large covered tent stage and they decided that wasn't big enough. It's also sooooo far South. They charge a 20% "TIP" automatically on every bar purchase. So an IPA was nearly $17. Unless C3 or Live Nation has bought them this is just insane. While this is legal...if it's mandatory, it's not a "tip" under IRS rules -- it's a service charge. That means it belongs to the business, not automatically to the server. That's F'd up and they need to change the language on that.

This place provides free earbuds! I love love love when establishments go out of their way to take care of their customers.

It's super odd bars around them have entertainment and crowds but not here. Seems like the guests mainly come for pickle ball, yet the stage mainly goes unused. If they can work out entertainment then they may have a great venue for guests.

Bar inside has a whole super modern aesthetic that I really dig. We came in October and they had a beautiful wall of skulls and candles inside and had some pretty cool cocktails around the spooky theme. I saw several people working on laptops and reading as we enjoyed happy hour at the bar. On a different occasion I came when a boxing match was showing on their large projection/screen outside at nighttime. They even had the fire pits going on with folks gathering around in lawn chairs and wooden lounge chairs. The sound was great for the match and they even had a live local band playing prior to the big match. Since there were a lot of people the lines for beers or cocktails was long but went fast. As the night went on service sped up and you did not have to wait more than 5 minutes to get another round. Parking was super easy to navigate even in the dark but I did pass the entrance a couple of times as there is not much light out this way down Menchaca Rd. Just take your time as you approach Drifters and know that you can also park on the side road before the bar too.

On the drink front, the only White Claw flavor available was pineapple, not ideal, though the bartenders were friendly and the atmosphere has real potential. With the right crowd, this place could be a lot of fun. Now, the food. I'd heard good things, so we ordered. I'm not sure those people were sober when they said that. The fries were genuinely the worst I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. The pork sliders were okay but on the dry side, and my friend's burger landed in the same "just fine" territory. Nothing memorable. To be fair, maybe it was an off night. The bones of a good spot are there. Nice staff, a vibe that could really come alive with a fuller house. I'd probably give the drinks another shot, but I'll be skipping the food menu next time.

You're gonna need a stiff drink or two before heading into some of these stores along SoCo. Fortunately, this place has 'em! Recently I've been being tricked by the 512 Tequila stand-up-paddleboard they've been parking out in front of the place. I always get kinda confused- is it a sports shop? Are they doing a promotion? Naw, and nah. There's a live music place in the back- of course, this is the Live Music Capitol of the World. The front area serves up some expensive cocktails and beers that ain't cheap. The vibe here is kinda dive bar. Embrace it. The service isn't kind, but it is fast. The beers are cold. The tequila is served with a lime and salt. Nom. Good enough.
