We loved the older charm of the unit (hardwoods, high ceilings, huge windows), and the kitchen was nicely updated. Some of the drawbacks were the cost of utilities because the home wasn't well insulated, and the occasional maintenance issue, but these are just old property issues and not Trinity specific. We were always super impressed with their responsiveness to any maintenance issues. This is a real stand out to us in terms of positives, and made a great impression. Also, they are incredibly fair with returning the security deposit, which you don't see very often! The people working in the office are all very kind and helpful. We wholeheartedly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for an attentive landlord, as long as your okay with dealing with the charms of older properties.

Once inside the Murchison apartments, the other couple pushed me aside and practically bowled me over to be first in the door, pounding Guy with questions then informing him they "probably" wanted the place but had "one more place to see and they'd be back soon" and abruptly left. Guy looked at me with a friendly smile and said, "Can I give you a quick tour?" I loved the place instantly: the big windows, spacious living area and hardwood throughout. The kitchen was as small as a postage stamp (recent photos show they expanded and remodeled it) and said I was ready to sign. He smiled and said, "I'm so glad you do. Those other folks weren't very polite; you seem like you'd be a very nice tenant." Guy was a terrific landlord and true to Trinity's website, the apartments were a great value, especially since they were close proximity to Duke University. I rented two apartments from Trinity at the Murchison Apartments on Demerious Street and Georgetown Apartments, my favorite being Georgetown because it had a large eat-in kitchen and pantry and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. (Murchison was a little quirkier and smaller, it was still a cute place. It had a fantastic storage area under the stairs where I stashed Christmas decorations and luggage). Both apartments were townhouses and very cozy with central air conditioning, a *must for those sweltering summers in the South. Both apartments were very well maintained by Trinity. After Guy had bought the Georgetown apartments he asked if we'd like to take a look. It was literally dollars more a month with an extra bedroom and extra 1/4 bath. He even let me choose the carpeting and linoleum from (4) samples and remodeled it fully before we moved in. If I ever moved back to the Triangle area, I'd call Guy for help navigating the real estate market since he is a very savvy real estate investor and/or rent from him again. All these years later, I still have the move/out form with a personal note from Guy that reads, "Thanks for leaving the place in such super shape!" All these years later, fond memories from a fabulous landlord. If you're looking for an apartment in Durham or Raleigh, start with Trinity Apartments.

"The Height of Urban Luxury" ???…read more Southpoint Village can only be referred to as a "luxury" apartment complex in the same sense that jumping out of a 10th floor window can be called a way to exit a building. As of this writing, it is Memorial Day Weekend and the pool, which is supposed to be open year-round, is empty and nowhere near ready for use. The only community grills are locked inside the fence alongside sun-bleached, grimy furniture that evokes a long-forgotten roadside motel. In keeping with that aesthetic, at least half a dozen abandoned cars are scattered throughout the parking lot. It is inconceivable that management hasn't noticed these cars. As my photos show, some lack license plates and have flat tires. While the units are spacious in terms of total square feet, the layouts are poorly designed. Massive dining areas cut heavily into the living rooms, and in most layouts, the kitchens are cramped. The fake wood floors are impossible to get clean, and the hot water tanks are too small if you happen to have long hair or simply enjoy a good shower. As for the appliances, they are beyond terrible--it's as if someone traveled back in time and raided a warehouse in the Soviet Union. The staff are personally very nice, but it does not substitute for their incompetence. Aside from failing to prepare the pool for summer or address the abandoned vehicles, their communication is abysmal. To announce a mandatory maintenance entry, management bypassed email and the community app entirely. Instead, they opted to post a single paper printout at one specific office entrance. Because of this, I was getting out of the shower when maintenance knocked a few times and immediately began unlocking my front door. In any other complex this wouldn't be an issue, but these doors cannot be deadbolted from the inside to prevent staff entry. There are a lot of apartments within a few miles of here. If you want luxury, or the guarantee of privacy, I suggest you look elsewhere.

When we arrived, there was nobody in the office, in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. We finally met up with the leasing agent, who informed us there were no elevators on the property. My husband, who is a wheelchair user, was unable to even see the unit she had available and she then went on to tell us that some of the amenities were down a flight of stairs. Considering this property was built in 2006, this is literally illegal. It is fine to have some units only accessible by stairs, but the common areas MUST be accessible per the ADA. This was a very short tour and I will probably be reaching out to the management company as well. This is absolutely unacceptable in 2023. Besides that, there was nothing special about the community, and we were not even shown the pool area, or other amenities. It was all under renovation so hard to tell what was construction and what was just the state of the community. Fine if you want the bare minimum with a mall in your backyard, but if you want anything above that, look elsewhere. I cannot support a company that doesn't abide by the laws for equal access.

Rest of the staff from the leasing office (Sandra Boykin and Jamilha ) will sweet talk you on becoming a resident but after being a resident they are not helpful , any issues you bring up to them they make you feel like you are bothering them and will get an attitude instead of being cordial and adddresing any issues during your lease . The complex is a very dirty , roaches e everywhere including in side the unit ( hallways , parking deck,, main entrance to the building , ) the events they have monthly are horrible, nothing but cheap stuff from the store and don't have enough for residents . Overall a horrible experience for the amount of money they charge each resident . If I could give this place a negative review below zero I would . I have had to stay proactive about my unit issues and waste my money and time fixing most of the issues . They have a lot of building code violations and health violations aswell . Be ware of this place and stay far away from it .

I have been troubled with noise issues during these years. 1) I first lived on the second floor. The window and the ceiling always produce noises of cracking. Despite that I have complained several times, no one treated me seriously until I left a one-star comment on Google Map. 2) I moved to the top floor later. Recently, they are replacing the roof. Every morning, I am woken up by the noise of someone walking on the cracking roof BEFORE 8 AM! I email the leasing office several times. They replied my first email and claimed that they would communicate with the vendor, but the noise did not stop. The other emails following up on this issue from me have been ignored. In addition to the two experiences I mentioned above, 3) The building if of poor quality. The ceiling leaks. There were several very noisy fans put in the corridor to dry the wall after it snowed this winter. 4) The do have roaches! 5) The gym is not maintained in time. It takes centuries for them to replace or repair equipments that do not work properly. 6) The apartment was not cleaned before I moved in! I found dead roaches in the room!! There are good things though. The maintenance team fixes things in the apartment quickly, and they always try to keep your place clean while doing their job. I also appreciate one of the ladies in the leasing office for signing my package when I was not able to come back home. However, overall, as a place where I pay to get enough sleep, chapel hill north is a poor choice.

We take out the trash every night, don't have dirty dishes, etc. the amount of roaches and "water bugs" I've seen is absolutely insane. I got tired of waking up and seeing a new friend so I called the front office and they told me "don't worry! They don't bite!"...... not at all what I want to hear. We have had this issue for some time, so we have been overly cautious about opening doors, wiping everything down, anything you can think of. After month 3 we even bought our own roach traps. I understand it's getting hotter and we have trees on the property. I've lived in an older apartment before and I understand the occasional water bugs. This is not that.

I am about to move out to relocate after staying here through 3 years of law school, so figured I would leave a review after reviews helped me decide on a new apartment. Autumn Woods is a great place to live, and was perfect for me through grad school. It is peaceful, well-kept, clean, manicured, etc. The best part of the complex is the people. In the management team, La Shawn and Lisa are just the absolute best. They are friendly and attentive, and I have enjoyed their company occasionally when I stop by the office. I have never once experienced any bit of rudeness from anyone at Autumn Woods. The apartments themselves are not the latest greatest top notch of everything, but everything works and looks nice, and the maintenance team has been great to work with when things stop working. When the apartment over mine flooded and water came in through my roof while I was away for the summer, the maintenance team took care of the issue fairly quickly and Lisa kept me well-informed of their progress while I was away. I have especially enjoyed my balcony overlooking the wooded area at the back of the complex, it's a great place to find some peace and study amid fresh air. My only complaint (I have to say something to prove I wasn't bribed!) is that the trash fees amount to around $60/month, which includes valet trash and the cost of disposal itself. This is pretty steep compared to what I've seen in other communities. Other than that, I truly haven't had any issues. If you're looking in the area, come by and meet Lisa or La Shawn and take a quick tour. If you like what you see, I definitely recommend staying here. I decided on this place after Lisa was so kind and professional giving me a walk-in tour, assuming that this interaction (and Lisa!) reflected the culture here. I was not disappointed! I never had any issues with neighbors here, literally none. I also never saw any undergraduates, mostly professionals and some grad students, some families. I lived at the back of the complex facing Food Lion, and fairly close to it, but I've rarely been disturbed by noise from over there. Maybe I got used to it, but it certainly wasn't anything dramatic (and I'm also a light sleeper if that helps)! Again, I never had any issues at all with the management and staff. The maintenance folks are going around the apartments all the time, and at least some of the office folks are always in the office if I need them. Again, never an issue. My concerns were always taken care of quickly, no issues at all. Maybe I'm naive or something but I don't think the rent is overpriced for the area. Either way, compared to what I've seen of similar apartments, I'd stick with this one. I also never had any issues with noise from neighbors, including in the common areas. Since James's review, management has repainted and spruced up the exteriors of everything as well.

Issues Below: - First issue= onboarding was moving in, the 2 staff members that I was working with kind of left me in the dark, which I had to keep following up with the community (I should've taken this as a red flag) - There has been an increase in dog poop throughout the community (I've stepped in poop at least 3 different times in different areas) - The call box doesn't work and beeps often throughout the night - Repeatedly come across someone dog peeing in my building if that's in the elevator or/and the hallway carpet - The leasing office staff is slow at giving updates/being responsive, which isn't good - I've been dealing with a water leakage that seems to be forming into mold for over a month, I continue getting the run around/no movement still; I've also spoken to the Property Manager, Susana, about this matter and told her that I plan to go to corporate (she's even promised to give me a call last week as I've been to the office about 5 different times, and haven't received 1 call from her; today her + the male worker acted clueless which isn't good as they manage the property and the residents come first especially safe, especially coming from someone that has asthma and has dealt with growing mold in the past; I've been told by staff to put in another entry request + to continue stopping by which is very inconvenient - There are 2 doors in my building that always jam, + another door has a hard time closing when the temp. changes - Susana refused to give me her business card and didn't provide her full name on a sticky note she gave me when I asked for both # and email address of hers + of corporate (she made a comment, "They will just transfer me to her" in such a way as if you won't get far - I told the staff that I was not happy - I was told by some residents that the community rarely fixes things/this is just how it is here - Limited parking at night - The brick with the community symbol/name on it needs to get power-washed - I was told there would be a theater room available at the beginning of the year by a staff member, but still no movement - I've asked for the pool access code and still haven't recieved anything - There's been a rusty old back sitting outside of the community in front of a building with no movement that I emailed about (not a good look) - Thin walls - Marks on the walls - Carpet has been lifted up 2+ weeks and haven't been replaced - Amazon workers have a hard time getting into the packaging area; I've been told by a resident to get my Amazon packages sent to Whole Foods to pick up - Valet trash doesn't always come when they're supposed to: I've been told that they're moving on with a different company as it's been an issue here, but I've seen little change - I've seen some grill at least 3 different times from their porch which I think is a fire hazard as flames and smoke was going up (Attached are a few examples, if needed I can point out the different areas in the community) I'm sure there's more to talk about but I have not though about having to create a list. I will be contacting corporate this week through email and phone. I now have no interest with attending future events or letting staff interact with my dog moving forward.

It is a quiet complex and the neighborhood is walkable and near the greenway. Staff host parties for the residents periodically and these are fun to attend and help build the friendly community that is already present at The Aster. Regarding amenities, there is both a conventional pool and a lap pool, which is very nice. The exercise room is incredibly well-appointed with various pieces of equipment to choose from. All of the equipment is top-notch and is kept in good repair. They offer garages for rent or reserved parking spaces if you're interested. The apartment buildings also have electronic keys to provide additional security for residents. Overall, it's a fantastic complex and if you're looking for a safe, quiet, friendly place to live, I highly recommend it.

Unfortunately, there were a lot of car break-ins in July 2023 at Uhill and nearby apartments. Specifically, within Uhill, two parking lots were targeted just two weeks apart. What's disappointing is that the apartment management failed to notify residents about these first break-ins and didn't make the security better. Residents of Uhill asked for better security, like hiring a security company for night patrols and having a guard watch the security cameras. I believe having fence alarm would also be crucial. However, the management said they wouldn't make big changes, although they did say sorry for what happened and offered up to $500 for repairs. From the incident, there were glass pieces in the parking lot causing flat tires which the complex didn't clean up properly. even after a whole month you can see glass piece is in many parking spaces(see pic, this was taken on August 20th so 3 weeks after the incident). Parking lot also have a spot where people can just walk through without effort(see pic). Also, a friend who lived here told me about a problem with the Latch door locks that let someone break in. The management didn't warn anyone about that either. They have security cameras, but they are not being monitored. They tell us to lock our car doors, but that doesn't make sense because if our doors were unlocked, there wouldn't be any broken windows. Also, there were electric gate signs placed around the apartment that caught residents and dogs off guard. The apartment has to let resident know of the change before placing the signs. There is also a spot in the parking lot where anyone can easily walk in and out of, don't even need to climb. Because of the safety concerns, I decided to leave. I had just renewed my lease right before the incident, so I had 13 months left on the contract. But they're charging me the full penalty, which is like two months' rent plus a 30-day notice. They also trying to charge me for utilities after I left and returned the key for the utility THEY used while I do not have access to the apartment. They won't let me pay the penalty in installments. I strongly believe that the break-lease fee should have been waived given the circumstances of lack and refuse to sufficiently improve security. They do minor changes such as fixing the cameras(which means it had not been working), fixing doors(some had been broken for a while). All these changes are not enough for me to feel safe. The lease says Uhill IS NOT responsible for security, and any safety stuff they add that is beneficial to residents is extra and purely incidental. Be aware. Fixing my dryer took two months because they didn't have the parts, which is understandable. However, they didn't tell me anything until I asked after a month. My clothes got messed up because I couldn't adjust the temperature. Even though there are empty apartments, I would've preferred a replacement. Even with these problems, I can't deny that living at Uhill is convenient as it is located near O2 fitness, Target and Sam's. The rent is more expensive than any nearby apartments. My one bedroom cost about $1800+$35valet trash fee(which pickup times were not consistence)+$99 smart home package(net+cable). I thought I would rather pay more for safety/security, but now it is clear that it is not any safer than other places just be mindful of that. The staffs, especially Nancy and Mary, are nice, but I wish the apartment done more to make me feel safe.

All the building materials are cheap and break easily. STAY AWAY

Luckily wrapping up a 20-month experience which has been sub par in many ways: 1 - Irresponsible Management: Greystar is a joke. Since the previous manager left ~10 months ago, things have gone downhill. In our instance they raised our rental price by 70% for a short-term month to month lease necessary to bridge to my wife's graduation! If you have an uncertain planned rental term, you're in for a ride - with your fate turned over to some unknown algorithm and inaccessible 'pricing analyst.' 2 - Facility Deterioration: Common areas are not as well taken care of, especially since management turned over. Trash rooms always have some unwelcome surprise, hallways routinely have trash unaddressed from the 'valet' and grills / workout facilities are inconsistently cared for. 3 - Non-existent Ownership: First off, our close friends at Greystar will not give contact information, but informed us they sent grievances on our behalf. Unsurprising, we received no response - typical of rent seekers.
