Upon arrival I was asked to provide my insurance, Which I provided. My appointment was a simple check up Hers was a teeth cleaning and check up. I was charged a teeth cleaning on my appointment for some reason as well despite not getting one. After our appointments I paid the co-pay based on what my "insurance covered" according to the lady billing me out. I then had future appointments scheduled for some cavities that needed filling for my wife and I about 3-4 months out. Along with the scheduled date, I was given a printout based on what my insurance covers and what I would have to pay after my next appointment. We go to our next appointments get our cavities filled. I head over to the front counter to be billed and get charged an additional $650 for the cavities being filled. I asked why this amount differed significantly from the quote I received. I was told that the quote was incorrect and upon communication with my dental provider, my insurance did not cover as much. I thought it was weird, but paid it anyways. Three months after my appointment, I get a call saying that I owed an additional $750. When I asked why, I was told because "they forgot to tell me that they do not work with Aetna for dental insurance." Pretty convenient on their behalf to wait until after my last appointment. After my first appointment I had recommended this place to a few friends of mine because the staff seemed friendly. This same thing happened to a friend of mine where they were told far after their appointments that they "forgot they did not work with their dental provider." Not sure if this was a simple office mistake on their behalf or if they are running some kind of scam here But to happen to two people in that short of a time frame makes me truly question. Needless to say, I'm at about a year after my last appointment and for the first time in my life, my teeth that were worked on are sensitive to hot and cold. I had an appointment to get some pretty decent amount of work done on my teeth and the office mysteriously was temporarily closed with no explanation and no notification. Same thing happened to my husband. We were able to get ahold of someone to find out where we were supposed to go and the guy wasn't very helpful and told us he didn't know yet. We were not notified of the business change. Throughout this experience, I never even got to see or meet the new dentist. When my wife and I went in for one of the two cleanings per year under our plan in the middle of June 2022, they did panoramic xrays and then got right into measuring gums and did a full mouth debridement (extremely uncomfortable). After having this done they stated my gums were at a 4 or 5 and I needed to come in 3-4 times per year in order to keep my gums from deteriorating. The prior dentist would tell me during each visit, "Everything looks good. Continue doing what you're doing." Needless to say, I was shocked at the sudden turn of my dental health. During the cleaning, the hygienist told me my insurance was one of the best out there and would be good to cover most, if not all the costs. I received the bill for our routine cleanings and was charged nearly $200. We are still working out the billing. There was no notice that extra services would be performed and therefore would present extra costs. I was expecting to have a routine cleaning covered by insurance and now they are upselling and upcharging people without notice. Be weary of this business as they seem like the type of business to find any possible way to get money out of you in the name of "highest standard of care."
