Don't come to this office. The front desk ladies don't acknowledge you when you walk in. The dentist is so rude. One of our kids had to have his temporary crown reset multiple times. It popped off within days. And to get back in to get it fixed was almost impossible. And when it was finally time to set the permanent one the doc said he's not doing this again and ended the visit. The nurse walked our kid out and said the doctor wasn't going to provide services anymore and was upset that he had to return the insurance money because he'd already been paid for the service. They cancel appointments frequently and on short notice and it then takes weeks to get rescheduled. I would never recommend this dentist to anyone. read more

Do NOT come to this dentist office!! my wife has been to their office SIX times now to get her crown replaced and they keep scheduling bullshit other things to eat up her Medicaid so they don't have to replace the crown. They change appointment times without notifying you, everyone there ESPECIALLY the dentist is extremely rude, and I don't think a single person communicates in that office. NEVER going back!!!!! When they did my wife's root canal- they didn't get it all so she was in immense pain until she finally pushed for a second opinion. Very rude staff at the registration desk and they seem to gang up on you if you have an issue, and that alone has me looking for another place that accepts my insurance. I've ended up in severe pain because he wouldn't listen to me and gave me a root canal on a tooth that never should have gotten one and my oral surgeon was shocked and also disappointed. my experience was the most uncaring experience I've ever encountered in my 45 years. in fact it was 100% negligent of them to allow me to exit their building under an Iv sedative and not know for fact that I had a ride out there. i was not only completely out of it , it was a snow storm that day. I work in healthcare and never would allow a patient to leave my care under those circumstances. i dont care how combative they were( which I'm only guessing because I have no recollection of what occurred from the time the iv went into my arm until I discovered my ride outside. I only assume because I vagely recall me possibly trying to exit the chair and the dentist telling me I had an iv in my arm. other then that all I know is that I had an humongous bruise from where I believe he took out very aggressively because not only was there was a bruise because I can admit was probably some what to do with me becoming combative, agitated or whatever happened but there was a scratch across the bruise in my skin from the needle which I believe was yanked out of my arm with a little too much aggression. as healthcare professional with training n sedatives and such should be trained to handle the situation if one should arise. Negligence in the finest !!! If I would have god forbid been hurt or even worse attempted to walk in sub zero snow storm and possibly been severely injured or worse would this dentist and his assistant been held accountable for my injurys or death. Nobody at all followed me to assure I was able to find my ride and safely get home. A part of me wants to call and turn this experience into the state for them to investigate the negligence of the ordeal. Do not put yourself through this ..... find another dental office ! Even if there's a wait else where , believe me it will be worth the wait to have professionals caring for your safety and quality of care because they thfew me to the birds after knowing I was given something that would alter my judgment. read more

Needed a tooth fixed as it broke off. First appt they said I needed to get a cleaning first, understandable. Went in to next appt that I thought I was getting my tooth fixed. Nope they started filling in cavities, made my next appt after I specifically told them I came there only to have my one tooth fixed, receptionist set up the appt. I come to said appt and they start talking about filing in other cavities, ummmmm no I told the dentist to STOP that is not the plan. Receptionist was then informed I would be switching insurance plans and we made a new appt to finally get said tooth fixed. Day before appt the receptionist calls and says we don't have that insurance on file, and we won't be able to get you in for your scheduled appt. 6 months after I had originally came to dentist to have 1 tooth fixed, not only is it not fixed but they used up all my dental benefits for the year. I have been going there for over 15 years and this summer I was checking on my bills and wanted to make sure that the invoice that they sent me last year was taken care of I was told that it was just a statement don't worry about it. The nest thing I get in the mail is a bill for over $1oooo. I called and told them that insurance should have paid for those services. Then they sent me another bill without one of my kids and me on that bill. I informed them again that definitely my son had insurance that should have covered his yearly cleaning. She then took him off and left the rest of the charges from two years ago. I told them they needed to get it straight with the insurance company. They did for my son but not me. So I went to have a crown reset (they didn't do it right it was out in a week) and paid cash for it. Then I go in for some work (reset tooth and crown for another). I was called a liar and that was not why I came in and that they didn't have time to do it today so I needed to make another appointment. But wait... I was told that I could not have any more work done and they will not release my chart until the balance is paid in full. Remember this was two years ago and I never received not one bill. How can a company not send you invoices and then send you one letter, after I contacted them and threaten me with collections. Went to Summit Dental and realized I was going to the ghetto Bellevue dentist and that real dentist offices are nice, well maintained, gave privacy, coffee and water. It was professional and smelled great in there. I WILL NEVER GO TO SOUTHROAD DENTAL AGAIN AND ENCOURAGE ALL TO DO THE SAME. They cannot not bill someone for two years and no monthly invoices. The BAD. This work was done by Dr. Colwell. I had two small fillings to be done. One was in the back side of my mouth. I paid for nitrous because I have sensitive teeth. The dentist did not bother to put any of the topical deadening on the spots before putting the needle in for deadening. The first needle I dealt fine. But the second needle in the back of my mouth was excruciating. I'm talking that it was up there on the pain scale with giving birth. I could feel the pain shooting all the way across my whole jaw. So I raised my hand away from him to let him know it hurt. He said, "We can't have you doing that." and he continued with the needle. I started kicking my feet trying to get him to stop. "We can't have you doing that. You are moving your mouth." He would not stop or adjust the needle. Then I started screaming and again he told me to stop. HE WOULD NOT STOP NO MATTER HOW MUCH DISTRESS I SHOWED FOR THE PAIN LEVEL. When he finally stopped and I could talk I said that it hurt a lot. He said, "Yes I know it can pinch sometimes especially in the back area." I told him clearly that it was not just a pinch. It was a very intense pain. I don't know if he hit a nerve or what, but I have NEVER EVER had pain like that in a dentist office. I ended up having him do the fillings since I was already numb, but I will not go back to him. The others in the office are good and do well so that is why I am giving 2 starts instead of one, but I will not return to him. read more

I would absolutely NOT recommend this dental company!! RUDE, LIEING, DISRESPECTFUL staff! There is NO 'change' with Southroads Dental. I called and made a second appointment for my louie to get an extraction. The appointment was for Wednesday at 3pm. He took off of work and we both went there and the Hispanic lady at the desk told Louie that he has an appointment for Thursday at 3pm.. No, no, no I personally made the appointment I know what day I put on my calander! The lady went back and forth telling us ' oh we have an opening, and oh we are booked'. Then the lady told Louie that I had another gentleman call and act like him? What kind of people work here? She is trying to stir up trouble between relationships.. I finally confronted her while Louie was in surgery (they had an opening, what do you know) and told her to keep her lying nose clean. We do not have dental insurance so we have to pay out of pocket. I basically paid this dental group for cheap rude people. They are expensive! Over $300.oo for ex rays on "2" teeth, an exam, numbing shots, and extraction! Top that, they gave us a prescription to fill (oxycodone) an extra 40 bucks!! Dentist are getting richer and lazier. When I was younger the price had pain killers included! Oh and this price did NOT include 'packing' to stop the bleeding. This was the only place that could get Louie in fast, ha no wonder why they have so many openings. The staff are pathetic liars. Then this woman walked in with 4 kids and she said she had an appointment then the lady 'Hispanic one' then said 'oh I'm sorry you missed your apt.' What?? No way!! They put the wrong dates in the computer! Not professional @ all. The lady started to tell the rep she's a single mom and she's sorry. Oh no the rep should be sorry for not knowing how to do her job properly. Idiots from mars! The dentist himself did good, just pricey for the poor service we got. (Especially paying out of our own pocket!) It's definitely a lesson learned before we trust any dental group. Look at the google reviews. They are not so swell. This co has a history of bad service. Don't go!! The office secretaries are RUDE. They won't acknowledge you when you come in, you gta interrupt them in order for them to notice you. Also, if something comes up and you have to cancel an appt, make sure its within 48 hrs or else they will ban you from coming back! How crazy is that?! Staff was rude and completely unknowledgeable about insurance practices clearly since they didn't check our benefits correctly and we were over charged by over $600. I would give this place no stars if it were possible. I had to unexpectedly cancel because my daughter was sick, and because I was a Medicaid patient they wouldn't let me reschedule. Bring your business elsewhere... scheduling is a pain, patient service (customer service) is nonexistent. Not kid friendly, open bays means you hear everything anyone else in the office (dentist, tech, patient) is saying so no privacy whatsoever and it's not a good environment. Billing insurance sometimes happens, but not without problems there either. Too many choices to put up with poor customer service and barebones office. Back in 2011 I took my daughter there to have 4 teeth extracted. Dr Rob Colwell was her dentist. My daughter has never been a fan of going to doctors or dentists to begin with so that did not help the way this unfolded. When we got there I was told that I was not allowed to go back to the exam room with her (I should of walked out then) so ten min later I hear my daughter screaming and crying so I went back to see what was wrong. When I get to where she was Dr colwell was leaned over her in her face telling her to lay back and act her age!! When he seen me come into the room he stuttered on his words saying he was trying to get her to relax. I was so angry I told my daughter to get up and let's go, she kept saying mom I was trying to tell him I could still feel him trying to rip my tooth out she stated that she was not numb at all and he wouldn't listen to her that he kept pushing her back to pull the teeth. Never in my life have I been so angry with a doctor as I was that day. My daughter now 21 years old still has a huge fear of dentists. Then to top it off they had the nerve to ask me if I would come back to see a different dentist in their office and apologized for what had happened. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I would never recommend seeing this dentist or going to this dentist office. I have posted my story on a few other places back in 2011 when it happened also.
