Best warranty and quality materials and labor. 949 637-9108. They are out of Santa Clarita. We are so happy and satisfied with our system and our bills have gone from $300 plus a month to less than $40 a month. Also when the power has gone out in our neighborhood the battery backup has saved the day. Stellar value, workmanship, professionalism and service plus a 25 year warranty. Highly recommended

I really appreciate the direct accountability and quick resolution. I'm leaving my original review below for transparency, but their prompt response today restored my confidence in their management. I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Buyer beware: the installation team does good work, but do not trust a word management says about referral incentives or post-sale promises. Still waiting for my $500.

Spencer from DLS Development gave a great pitch, plus the quote was one of the lowest we received from almost all roofing companies. They reached out over a month later to check in and offer an additional discount. Pros: The workers did an excellent job and worked from nearly sunup to sundown. They had a few questions, which I could answer (or get my husband to answer) when I was around. It took about 4 days for them to tear off the old shingles and install the new ones. And it was hot out there! They did the work quickly, professionally, and efficiently! One of the crew members performed a walk-through with my husband once they finished, and my husband was very pleased with the finished product. I feel very grateful looking at my roof now, since the old one was very old. Cons Once we signed the contract and paid the initial deposit, we were told that the permit for our house needed to be pulled and that it would take about a week. Almost two weeks later, I asked the project manager if she had pulled the permit and when the project could begin. She then let me know the roofers would begin the following week. I guess I hoped that the project manager would have reached out to me first to let me know that the permit situation was complete and that they would begin the roofing process. You need to take initiative and find out what's happening, since I've never had a roof replaced before. Next, the project manager informed us they discovered and replaced rotted wood. The project manager sent us a change order for the additional amount, yet the contract did not list any extra charge for rotted wood. Additionally, they had already replaced the "rotted wood" before we signed anything, and they had no clear photos showing any rotted wood. It took a lot of emails and texts back and forth before we reached a resolution we were happy with. Still, it was a headache and frustrating for several days; we had to deal with uncertainty and explanations. Finally, the project manager never confirmed when the inspector for the last inspection would actually come to our house to collect my signature on a form. We didn't know whether we needed to be at home, leave the document out somewhere, or when the process would officially end. I received an email from the project manager asking me to reply and attach the form with my signature, as the inspector had come around but could not collect it because I was not there. I replied to the email with the form and asked the project manager if I needed to do anything else. Only when I reached out again to the general DLS development general email was I told what day the inspector would come around again to collect the form. We're thrilled with the roof and the quality of work, but it would've been less of a headache to have a lot of this information up front without having to keep asking, since I'm unfamiliar with the roof process. I also had to email the general DLS development email, as the project manager was not responding to some questions and concerns as quickly as I would've liked. I know she probably had a million things going on, but it felt like I got a response much quicker once I emailed through the general company email. This was not a cheap project, and I feel like this company lacks clear communication, but their workers and work are absolutely outstanding.

All of them had different levels of review, except for Next Door and I know why... Johnny and his team were communicative every step of the way, clean and quick. Immediate phone calls and text were appreciated. l wanted the "Tesla" battery it was explained why it wouldn't be beneficial to me and there were alternatives. All other solar inquiries rolled it into their estimate without any hesitation. So, if solar is on your bucket list for 2026, you wont go wrong with getting an estimate from Johnny and his team at Next Door. I was very happy with the choice I made. Truly wish every home project had this kind of experience with a contractor. Side note, they did my roof too... I reached out to Johnny on October 8th, 2025 about installing solar with battery backup. He met with me personally, explained every step clearly -- system design, permitting, timelines, PTO with Edison, and realistic expectations. What immediately stood out was his no‑pressure approach. He didn't try to upsell or push me into anything. He simply gave me straightforward information, answered every question, and let me decide at my own pace. I felt confident enough to sign the contract within two days. Before choosing them, I had gathered multiple quotes through a solar marketplace. Because it was a busy season due to the Federal rebate impending sunset on Dec 31st, 2025, most vendors were slow to respond as everyone was trying to rush to meet the Dec 31st deadline. Some installers had contract clauses I simply couldn't agree to. Johnny's pricing was not cheap but upfront and transparent. No hidden conditions, no questionable fine print, and no pressure tactics. Just a price backed by professionalism. And you get what you pay for. I am glad I chose them. They began pulling permits the following week, and the project moved quickly. By mid‑November 2025, they had installed a 10.78 kW solar system with 20 kW of Enphase batteries. I chose Enphase microinverters, which allow me to monitor each panel individually through the Enphase app -- a huge advantage over systems that only show total production. The installation crew was super courteous, kind, efficient, and clearly knew what they were doing. They kept the worksite tidy throughout the job and made sure everything was spotless when they finished. I'll be adding pictures of the awesome team to this review and updating it with their names as well. A big shoutout to Micole, who handled all the documentation and communication. She was consistently on top of every detail -- permits, inspections, utility paperwork -- and she responded promptly every time I had a question. Her organization and responsiveness made the entire process feel effortless. Another major plus: Next Door Home Upgrades helped me secure a loan through one of their partner lenders, and the entire approval and setup process was smooth and hassle‑free. No delays, no surprises -- just straightforward financing that made the project even easier. Once the system was installed, inspections were completed within a couple of weeks. Then came the part most installers hesitate to commit to: Permission to Operate (PTO) from Edison. Nearly every other company I spoke with told me they could not guarantee PTO by year‑end. Johnny didn't make unrealistic promises either, but he did explain that Simi Valley's building department is efficient and that Edison typically processes PTO quickly once everything is submitted. He was right. I received PTO on December 10, 2025, well ahead of my December 31st deadline -- giving me plenty of time to secure the 30% Federal Solar Tax Credit without any stress. The system has been performing flawlessly. Over the last six months, my electric bills -- which used to average $280-$300 per month -- have dropped to just $22. I also want to highlight Enphase's customer service, which has been outstanding. They remotely checked my batteries to ensure optimal performance and even came onsite twice to fine‑tune the software, despite everything already showing perfect on the app. Their Enphase 10C batteries come with a 15‑year warranty, compared to the 10‑year warranties many competitors offer. And the level of monitoring access with Enphase -- including individual panel monitoring -- is something many other inverter systems simply cannot provide. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional -- honest communication, excellent workmanship, realistic timelines, smooth financing, fair pricing, and a team that genuinely cares about doing things right. Johnny, Micole, and the entire crew (to update names soon) delivered exactly what homeowners hope for: a professional, reliable solar installation that delivers real results. If you're considering solar or home energy upgrades in Simi Valley or nearby areas, I wholeheartedly recommend Next Door Home Upgrades. They exceeded every expectation
