These guys are sharks that prey on you to drain you empty. I had a dinner with my 85 years old dad at Palm Island (senior living community) in Fountain Valley- No guest parking after 8PM. At 8:15pm I came out the car was gone. To get it back within the hour, they charged me extra $100. So either next day for $265 or $365. Damn easy money for these guys. There's never a good time for a car issue. They're always a headache and more money than you anticipate. So when you find good and efficient service along the way, as Jeff provided, it really helps the situation not seem so frustrating. I just finished a round of golf only to find that the front tire on my GMC Yukon was completely flat. I called AAA and expected that I would have to wait up to an hour for a repair service to show up. It was the end of the day on Sunday. I was very happy when Southside towing showed up within 10 minutes. Amazing! I don't know how they did that. The service was extraordinary! Service man, Vince Lambert, was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. He found where the tire had been punctured, installed the spare, and made sure the air pressure in the spare was correct. He did all of this quickly and with a great attitude. I think Vince was a real God send. I highly recommend Vince and Southside towing. read more

LOL at these reviews. Well here's mine! Mike helped me tow my mom's car out of a parking structure without her keys. Omggg it was like mission impossible I swear, but miracles happen! I would describe how he got the car out, but I don't know any car words haha. But my dad kept commenting on how skilled and experienced he was and how there's a no way a beginner could do that kind of work. Woke up yesterday morning and my car was towed from literally in front of my freaking condo. I was so freaking annoyed. After calling my neighbor and figuring out what tow truck company tows the cars on our property, I called Southside towing and located my car. I made my way down there and explained that the security guards towed my car by mistake and they advised me that I would have to correct that error with them. The guys at the tow lot were so helpful with telling me exactly how I could get my car back. What surprised me was their great customer service too. Made me realize that it also helps if you're not an asshole(taking accountability and being respectful?! Shocking,I know) Getting your car towed is NEVER fun but these guys are just doing their job and if you CALMLY (also known as not throwing an adult temper tantrum) the staff will gladly answer AND advise you on how to deal with getting your car back. They allowed me to go into my car and grab my belongings while I sorted things out with the security company. I can't believe I genuinely had a great experience with a towing company but I did. My car broke down on me this morning! ;( Great way to start my morning drive to work! Ughhh...While driving to work, I noticed a wierd sound coming from the engine, I wasn't sure what it was, but I still drove my car like it was normal. Next thing you know, my steering wheel got kind of stiff and was overheating! The minute I saw that, I pulled over to a gas station and tried to figure out what to do next. Thank God, I didnt get stuck on the fwy, or in the middle of the street! Anyways, I called AAA "Gotta Love Them" used my road side assistance and they set me up with Southside-towing and said that it would take approximately 40 mins to arrive sounds like a long time right? These guys have the WORST customer "service". I regret to say I have indeed been towed before but never treated so rudely by a tow company. My 16 year old daughters car is towed from our house - our fault, she parked in fire lane accidently. Southside Towing did NOT file a police report as required by law so 12 hours later, we're still trying to find car - calling other tow companies, the police dept, etc. We thought it was stolen! Finally call our community association to find out they used new company, Southside and track down the car. Off we go... Get to Tow company and park at side of driveway by check in area where a man there abruptly demands I move car back along the street. While I am reparking, he takes my 16 year old stepdaughter back into the locked and barricaded parking lot by herself where I cannot see or hear what is going on. When I bang on the gate and identify her as a minor and myself as her stepparent and ask to be let in, he says "just a minute" and continues to grill my kid about her identification papers without me. I repeatedly bang at the window several times demanding he not speak to my stepdaughter without me and he continues to ignore me - only coming back to open the gate when he returns with her to tell me her identification isn't valid proof of registration (citing by the way, CHP regulations!). If this company REALLY cared about following regulations, in my opinion they should have filed a police report as REQUIRED by law and also not have taken a minor back into a locked, inaccessable area alone without proper adult or parental permission. I call, they confirm they have my car, I go to the address provided and there are no people there, only a gate and lot's of "Park and you will be towed" signs, which of course I took seriously, so I called again and asked if I was at the right place and where I could actually park? They indicated they would send someone over and that I needed to have $307 by cash or credit to get my car back. $307 for 3 minutes! They may be living by the fine line of the law, but that doesn't mean they are not crooks! Given a choice, don't choose Southside. read more

I had a little bit of car trouble. My car had a dead battery and just so happened to be on the street sweeper day. Luckily I called Southside for a jump start. I spoke to Dave about my situation. He had sent someone to my location with in 10 minutes of me calling. That was a life saver. The driver came jump started my car real quick and I was able to move my car and avoid a ticket. You know, I believe that towing companies a lot 9f the time get a bad rap and are hated and despised when it's really not their problem it's not their fault. The bottom line is most of the time it's our fault. We get towed because somebody else pretty much has called to have our car taken. Its not the towing truck companies problem it's our problem.... so if we really are going to be mad at anybody we need to be mad at the person who called or probably more so ourselves. So I was going to give a good review for Southside because everybody I have dealt with so far was very nice and easy to deal with...... STOP.... well, I have changed my mind and I will tell you why...... I just picked up my car about an hour ago which was towed on a Sunday night from the apartments where I live about 2 miles away. I was not parked in my spot and I didn't have a permit to be parked where I had been parked, so yes my fault.... stupid me ....I got towed. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get my car until today which is Friday because I needed to wait till I got paid. I went to pick up my car and dealt with a really nice guy in the office. He took all my information, I paid the ridiculous amount... .still my fault though.... he gave me the receipt and I was able to walk behind the gate and drive my car out ....done deal! So I left and drove down the street to a store before I got out I wanted to look at my receipt again and this is where I wanted to start spitting nails and became furious I was absolutely livid. These guys picked up my car and had it in their yard Sunday night at 11:58 p.m. Seriously... I now don't know if I believe them at all because now I think they're just a shady operation. Anyway, they proceeded to charge me for a full day of storage for Sunday because they got my car into their yard 2 minutes before midnight which would be Monday.... that right there was proof enough to me that you are money hungry dregs of the earth that you R all about sucking people dry. It's all about the almighty dollar there are classy ways to go about getting the almighty dollar though. You guys are just crooked lying thieves in my book now. I understand that you have a job to do but you should try being a little bit more sympathetic, empathetic or even human. Try cutting people some slack every once in awhile.. First of all your fees are outrageous and you know it. All tow truck fees are outrageous I don't care if yours are lower than everybody else's. But seriously can you honestly justifying A $50 storage fee for 2 minutes and who says that that's even true...... I was fine with your outrageous fees because its my fault but when you screw people over for 2 minutes that seriously is just evil and totally messed up especially since I had to wait till Friday to get my car out anyway. So I'm glad you got your $540 from me... I'm just curious is there anything such as a decent towing company that is semi honest and reputable....... . maybe they don't exist. Sounds like a good business opportunity.... Your employees were great.....the people I dealt with were great..... I guess my problem is with the the tow truck driver whose initials are TA.... I want to know if there's proof that you can prove to me that my car showed up at your place and was parked in the yard at 11:58 p.m. Sunday night.... When i went to pick it up the staff was very nice to me. I spoke to Rose and Dave and they both were very helpfull. She explaned in detail what the charges were for the impound. They didnt charge me a arm and a leg. I read alot of reviews about this company and to tell u the truth, I did not experianced anything negative with them. I got my car back in less than 30min while she did the paperwork. At the end, I purchased a Acura Integra from them. They even helped me out with all the DMV paper work. read more

Let's face it: getting towed sucks. It sucks BIG TIME. It sucks even more when you're not sure whether your car got towed or stolen. Thankfully for my friend, it was the former. We parked her car in an apartment lot, where the numbers were barely visible, so we assumed it was free non-permit parking. We come back 2 hours later to find a new BMW in our spot. The nerve beemer drivers... We called Southside Towing, since my friend who lives at the complex has, as he said "driven too many friends to get their car back." They were relatively courteous and told my friend that she could pick up the car that night for ~$260 or the next morning for $185. We waited till the next morning and arrived at the heavily gated and pretty shady facility. Since the car wasn't under her name, they made her get a consent form from her dad. Once the paperwork and payment was done, the car was released. My laptop and a week of clothes were in that car, but everything was intact and accounted for, which was my biggest worry. Unlike the earlier reviews, no real hassle or rude attitude. They deal with angry people every day, so I actually think it's pretty admirable how they were so formal about everything. Theses guys had my car for a total of 3 hours and had the audacity to charge me $400 to get my car out. By the way they charged me a $112 fee cause they're closed on weekends yet they took my vehicle on a Saturday and picked it up the same day, seems pretty open to me. I locked my keys, purse, & cell phone in my Tesla. Technically, you're not supposed to able to lock your keys in a Tesla, but thats exactly what happened! Tesla can remotely unlock the car for you, but that didn't work either! (1 hour of my life wasted!) Harry & Southside Towing to the rescue!
