I can't even begin to explain how grateful I am for Southside Towing and their services. They weren't just helpful but happily went above and beyond their job description & did so with great attitudes. Running out of gas at 10pm isnt a fun thing to deal with but i can say with certainty, it was the best experience given the circumstances. Nicest people I've ever met who work for a towing company. Jill exercised nothing but kindness, good humor, and extensive knowledge when I came by to retrieve my impounded car. This place is bad business. My car was towed for being parked at my buddies apartment complex. I was spending the night. I understand I was in the incorrect spot, and the manager of the complex just had to get it towed. My mistake. But, I go to pick my car up, I believe the guy I spoke with was named gus, and he was friendly. Well, I pay my fee and get my car and I find 3 used condoms in my backseat floorboard. So disgusting. Sucks to get towed but at least when I went to pick up my car it was well taken care of no damage no missing items etc. I thought there was a scratch on my rim but they let me know it was already there and they had the photos of before my car was towed which i appreciated. Also glad they were open on Sunday for pick up even though overall the fees seemed high. Like I said it sucked to be towed but that was on me. My teenage son was on his way to work at 6:15 AM; the private lot in Park Lido was full (where he has a parking permit), so he parked on Flagship Road (by Hoag Hospital). This company's representative was inspecting my son's car when my son approached, and had not yet hooked the car up to his towtruck. The car bumper was barely encroaching in "red" curb territory. No matter. The rep proceeded to hook up the car, tow it across the street to his lot on Placentia (a half mile away or less), charge my son $330, and demand a notarized form be brought to Newport Beach Police from us stating that our son is allowed to drive this car (which is registered to us). What happened to giving a warning? This is highway robbery. Extortion. Evil. Between notary fees, lost wages, and $330 obscene theft, this was a $400+ gouge. Organized crime. read more

Angel, the receptionist, has no heart, is rude, and has no sympathy for the customers. Angel was not only being rude to customers but also his peers. He belittles his coworkers and shows no care or concerns for humans that are going through stressful situations. My Name Is Keith. And Yesterday 01/04/17 I Responded To An Ad Posted By Mr. Ben Of Southside Towing...1643 Plecentia Ave, Coasta Mesa CA Regarding The Sale Of A 1997 Honda Civic For $650. I Contacted Mr. Ben And Asked Him If The Vehicle Was Available For Purchase, And If I Could Give It A Test Spin To See How Durable The Vehicle Was To Ensure It Was Capable Of Meeting My Transportation Needs. Mr. Ben Responded Yes! The Vehicle Is Available, However I Could Not Test Drive The Vehicle Off The Property Because It Was Not Properly Insured, And That I Could Only Test Drive It On The Property Which Was A Long Stretch Of Driveway Behind The Gates Of The Property. When I Arrived I Told Him Who I Was, And He Opened The Gates Of The Facility, And Took Me To View The Vehicle. He Jumped The Vehicle, And I Drove It A Couple Of Times Up, And Down The Driveway. When I Exited The Vehicle I told Him That I Only Needed This Vehicle As A Point A To Point B Vehicle. He Told Me It Would Do Just That. But That He Could Not Make Any Promises. He Also Stated That There Was A No Return Policy, And It Was Sold As Is. I Agreed And Told Him That I Would Return To Purchase This Vehicle After I Went To The Bank. Now, I Understand That This Vehicle Was In Bad Shape. It Was A Lemon! But I Thought That It Would Get Me Going A Little Better Around Orange County As I Searched For Work. So I Went To The Bank And Withdrew $550. (My Last Money)... I Returned Back To To Tow Yard. Paid $520. Did The Paperwork. And Drove Off The Property To The DMV. Getting towed really sucks especially if you have to be at work in 2 hours (where am now haha). Even as inconvenient as it is Southside is surprisingly comfortable to work with. The staff at this facility is very nice and professional. I had heard horror stories about people having stuff ripped off by tow companies and so this was my fear going to pick up my car. Sure enough all my things were still in the car. By things I mean credit card, skateboard, change holder still full. This is the same result as the previous time these guys towed me. YES this was my second time being towed by these guys. The first time it was my SUV that got swooped up with my Armani suit in the back and it was still there. Not suggesting that you try to get towed because it always is pricey but at least these guys have the integrity to be fair. So in closing Southside Towing you are welcome for the $366 total hahaha. read more

Horrible experience ....first my car gets towed, second I have to call and make an appointment to pick up my car, third I get the the lot and my car was not there yet 10 mins later it shows up, fourth I waited two and half hours to finally get my car released, fifth the guy that was there was so unprofessional, sixth the ridiculous amount I had to pay for the whole ordeal really a gate fee of $85 added on top of all the other tow fees...all for being late 5 mins getting to my car fml read more

towed my car from a Santa Ana apartment parking lot... Apparently they didn't know it was stolen, even though my car was missing all wheels and tires! And it had the stereo ripped out! And the ignition broken! How stupid are they that they couldn't put 2&2 together???? (IM BEGINNING TO THING THEY FOUND IT WITH WHEELS ON AND TOOK THEM OFF TO SELL THEM THATS HOW CROOKED THEY ARE) Instead of calling the police Dept as they're supposed to they towed it to Costa Mesa, dropped it off in their impound to charge me $240 for being in there for 2 hours!!!! Also my car has never leaked ANYTHING before and I'm pretty sure they caused damage to the breaks and undercarriage of the vehicle by dropping it to the ground with no wheels! Also when I checked the engine the main air hose was dislodged from its bracket... In an attempt to discourage ppl from taking their cars out of the impound and sell them for a cheap price to the towing company they tweaked something that would make my car not work properly... An overall shady place! Don't call them or go there for anything! And if you do... Don't say I didn't warn you! After reading the comment by this reputable towing truck company... I am still sure they're crooked as hell! AFTER FINDING A CAR WITH NO RADIO BROKEN IGNITION SWITCH AND MISSING WHEELS... What's my first thoughts? We locked our keys in one of our work trucks and tried EVERYTHING to get it open. He came out in a timely manner and even though they don't typically work on our type of vehicle he gave it a try. Since we lifted your car it costs 90 to drop it. Literally when in the house to unload for a couple minutes came out and the swooped. first of all this isnt a real tow company. they arent looking to help the stranded or wrecked. their only job is to work with local security to scam customers with out of state plates and tow their cars from a parking lot. we were using the parking lot right as customers of chase and pavilions. we had proof of using the surrounding shopping centre. still lovely angel would rather scam us with forged paperwork. stating we were there for hours. which is a complete lie, then goes on to laugh at us after we point it out. these people are the truest definition of SCUM. how these folks sleep at night ill never know. but ill tell you one thing. that paperwork hetter match those cameras, or youll he seeing a lawyer real soon. ;) read more
