I had my car towed from a private parking lot in Costa Mesa. My car ended up at Southside towing. While getting towed is never fun or cheap, I was able to pay a discounted rate to release my car before it was checked in behind the fence. The day after releasing my car, I noticed that during the tow, the back bumper of my car was damaged. Despite this issue, I give this business five stars because they acted in good faith. Dave was able to refund the money for the tow as well as set me up with a mechanic to fix the damage. With some follow ups this was able to be resolved within a month. This was my first experience having my car towed and I was very nervous about the process, however, reading all of the great yelp reviews, I was confident that Dave and his team would act in good faith to resolve my issue! read more

Probably the most unprofessional company I've ever dealt with. When booking a towing they took down all my info and put me on hold then when they took me off hold they let me know they accidentally deleted all my info and would need it again. After giving them my info again they said a tow truck would be to me in an hour. An hour later they call to let me know that they don't have a driver and have to cancel the tow. I explained to them that my car is in a no stopping zone and that I'm waiting on them and they said there's nothing they can do. Unbelievably unprofessional and insane that I waited an hour for them to let me know they can't do it. Avoid using Southside Towing as much as possible. read more

Ruben helped us out a few weeks ago after a really bad hit from behind car accident. Totally professional and friendly! And not to mention quick!! One tow company had us waiting for 3hrs and when they showed up told us they couldn't tow the car and left! Stephanie, whom you'll find at the front desk remained totally professional throughout her dealings with myself and others. My car was towed from my apartment yesterday less than 24hrs ago, it cost me $654.51 to get my car back. $333.00 for tow alone a tow that I didn't even request. They claim to be closed on weekends that is why they implement gate fee of $120 tho' someone is there, plus $85 for storage. Even though I'm car wasn't there two days I was charged 2 days. One of the last businesses that prices are not regulated they can charge whatever they want whenever they want. Thank god for these guys. My family was stranded off the side of the freeway in our motorhome after the transmission decided to suddenly give out. We had called 20 places just to get rejected due to it being a motorhome or it taking 4-5 hours to get help. Not only were they more than happy to help but they were reasonable with their prices. Today I had a really unusual thing happen: my Mercedes, GLE, locked itself after I put my purse with my phone on the passenger side of the car. Suddenly, I had no way to communicate or get into my car. I was near a doctor's office so I went in and two people helped me, get in touch with AAA roadside assistance: One online and one on the phone. The online responder said no one could be there till 4:30 PM (an hour and a half). Luckily, it didn't take that long and 25 minutes later, Carlos, happily helped me get into my car. It seem like magic to me that he was so kind and understood that my AAA card was also locked in the car so I couldn't show him my 16 digit membership number (which the automated voice on the phone asked me!) Thank God for real humans especially ones who are out to help others so immediately and politely like Carlos from Costa Mesa AAA roadside assistance. I told him I would write a YELP review and here it is. I hope someone lets CARLOS KNOW! I truly appreciate him helping an old lady who was frustrated that NB Mercedes couldn't help. read more

Southside tow, I'm going to go ahead and say these guys are no doubt, the best tow company I've ever dealt with, and for sure 100% the best In Orange County. Believe me I have dealt with all of them. I was blown away on how they treated me, and how my vehicle was treated. Usually tow companies are very difficult to deal with. Southside tow was the exact opposite. I've lived in Costa Mesa /Newport Beach my whole life so without mentioning any other names of towing companies, I can say these guys are number one. I usually never leave a review, but in this case I had too! By the way this was a Police tow and I'm glad it was these guys. I never thought I'd be giving a tow company a 5 start review after the police impounded my sports car for having a modified exhaust, but this place is light years better than others. The driver was quick, friendly, and cooperative. The staff was to the point, honest and their operation was organized. The bill wasn't super cheap to get my car out, but they just gave me one price and i paid it. Other places I've dealt with have all these fees and 2 day charges, etc., not southside. Yelp won't let me respond to the owners response so I guess I'll have to update here. Our car was towed from our own house on Sunday wee hours like 4 am (per their receipt). We called and tried to contact SST on Sunday but we were unable to reach them. When we went to pick up the car on Monday very early (like 7 am early which we would have happily done on Sunday). The car was in their lot for a single day. the woman working there charged us for TWO days somehow. When we asked how she could justify charging us for a day that we were unable to pick up the car because they were closed she responded "we're open Sundays. I was here all day Sunday". Which was an obvious lie otherwise she would have picked up our calls. And she followed it up with something rude along the lines of there's nothing we can do about it so do we want our car or not. Getting charged over 400 dollars to pick up a car that was in their lot for a day that they were closed and never should have been towed in the first place is ,to me, unreasonable. Being lied to in order to make it seem like we could have gotten the car earlier and as if messed up on top of it is just insulting. So my question to the owner would be why would your employee say you're open when you're not? why do you charge people for days they are unable to pick their cars due to you being closed? And why do you charge two full days for something we picked as soon as you were open which was probably just over 24 hours later (again, because you were closed not because we didn't want to pick that up). read more
